    I’ll be in Tokyo for 3 days and Osaka for another 3 days.
    Do you recommend getting JR East & JR West passes for sightseeing and airport transportation ?

    • @SofieAndStephen
      @SofieAndStephen  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching!
      We would recommend that you use a JR Pass calculator. You can search it up on google and there's several sites that have this calculator to see if it's financially worth it for you to buy JR Passes. We took this trip right before the JR Pass shot up in price by 60%+. We also traveled to Hakone, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima and then back to Tokyo. So for us, it made financial sense to buy the JR Pass. But if you aren't going to that many places, it may not make sense. It could make more sense for you to just purchase individual tickets instead of the passes. Once again, check out the JR Pass calculator, input your itinerary, and you'll find out whether or not it makes sense for you to buy the pass.

    • @annieng5566
      @annieng5566 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for your quick response. I’ll check it out. Still having anxiety on how to use the transportation there.

    • @SofieAndStephen
      @SofieAndStephen  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@annieng5566 For general transportation around cities like Tokyo or Osaka, as long as you have a SUICA card and can use Google Maps or Apple maps, you'll be fine. We used Google maps and it does a good job of telling you where to go for stations and trains.

    I want to learn more about you both. as an asian american guy, i find it impossible to date as most white women won't date guys like us. how did you 2 meet?

      I think depending on your location, you'll find that a lot more white women these days will date asian guys. Back 20 years ago it was a different story. Nowadays it's much more common. We met through mutual friends during our high school years.

      Thanks for the feedback! This was posted in December but filmed in November. During the time it was nice and sunny/warm during the day and chilly at night. Perfect weather if you ask us :)

    Nice Vlog, except your visit to the Otter cafe. I'm in Tokyo almost every year, but I have never been and will never go to one of those pet cafes. Seriously an Otter Cafe? Otter belongs in the water and not on people's laps.

      Hello! Yes, we understand your concerns about the ethics of the Otter Cafe. The otters seemed to be well-treated and taken care of. And the employees have a lot of respect for the animals. We can only hope that the otters are treated with the greatest care in there. Thanks for taking the time to watch our vlog :)

    In Japan, eating while walking is only allowed in limited tourist areas. It is against etiquette to eat or drink in other areas. As a Japanese person, I found it extremely unpleasant to see people sitting on the street eating takoyaki. Many Japanese people are very annoyed by the selfish behavior of foreign tourists.

      Yes, we always abided by the rules of no eating or drinking while walking. We always stayed near the restaurant or store we purchased the food from. In the case of the takoyaki, we were eating on the street right in front of the restaurant since it was the only available space to actually eat without standing in the way of people waiting in line to purchase the takoyaki.
