I have a rake like that- I ❤❤it! I use it in the chicken coop and garden - it has many uses. A friend gave me some metal buckets that I use for harvesting - I like patina on metal. I thank you for inspiring me to gift myself a hose reel 😊- it takes the frustration out of hoses- thank you. I hope someday my garden has the beautiful artistic feel that yours has!
Great ideas, love it all! You gave me a chuckle at 3:26 lol…you’re a woman after my own soul. Nobody ever knows 😂Maybe a cranberry ginger beer margarita..Cheers to a Happy 2025 🎉
Excellent suggestions. The little rake had to break before I could find the big rake lost in the garage. Here is my ideal list of pruning and digging tools: Ladders, such as step ladder, six foot and ten foot A-frame ladders. Cutting tools: bypass hand pruners, folding saw, bow saw and Sawzall. A non-stretchy rope, such as twisted polypropylene, can help guide a tree or branch to fall where you want it to land. Break hard clay soil with a heavy duty metal garden/digging fork. It has solid thick heavy metal tines. Watering the ground makes it easier.. A pick axe/mattock and a soil rake are used to create beds in the ground. Prune ornamental grass with a sickle. Joyce Chen original unlimited kitchen shear for flower/vegetable pruning.
I bought my mini rake after I saw yours and I love that thing. My husband makes fun of it (Calls it a ‘Barbie rake’) and I don’t even care, especially since he uses it too. Maybe this will be the year I finally get a Hoselink. I’m saving up my Christmas and birthday money.
I love my mini rake too! I got it at a garage sale 15 years ago,(mine has metal tines, not plastic, so I think that’s why it has lasted this long). My son and I have had a small landscape company the past few years and he always makes fun of me for using what he calls my “toddler tools”. I always have my mini rake and my floral shovel, which looks like a mini shovel. They are both hands-down, my favorite tools (in addition to my augers and hose link of course)
Light weight tools to the win! I have a metal adjustable rake, but a bit heavy and will consider the plastic one. It’s an extension of the arm and small like a hand that is so handy. I’ve seen child sized rakes, but the longer handle would be nice. I’m a bit picky about how aggressive the tines are and that plastic one looks perfect. Thx! Still on the fence about plumbing in a hoselink. I do have irrigation for most areas and I run hoses to the main hookups. Most things are pretty far distance, but would be perfect for gardens in smaller areas. I’m looking forward to rebuilding my leanto greenhouse hopefully before I need it for seedlings. The ground froze before I could get the heat sink installed. Looks like a heat wave this weekend though and then back to possible polar vortex 🥶.
Just found your channel, watching was a sweet after-Christmas gift! I'm a northwest Missouri gardener, nice finding you! Your bird bath suggestion is great, and I'd add putting a comfy chair somewhere in everyone's garden 💚
Merry Christmas. Love your garden (s). Just a suggestion on the rake from Home Depot. Consider getting an adjustable/expandable aluminum rake like this pair: 2-Pack 64 in. and 30 in. Aluminum Handle Adjustable Rake, just $25 for 2. I've had a similar rake for over 20 years. Mine is a Friskers and I can't vouch for the quality of these but I love that it can be adjusted on the spot to get into tighter spaces. And yes, birdbaths are a must in any garden. I have about a dozen repurposed/thrifted birdbaths all over the garden during the summer. And don't forget that birds need water in the winter as much as they do during the summer.
Merry Christmas 😊 my son and hubby did great this year! My hubby bought a Hoselink and my son purchased a couple Ollas and 3 very nice containers for my garden!!
The dragonflies use the bird bath more than the birds. I'm thinking about adding another one on the other side of my garden but maybe they're too scared of the cat lol. The one I have now was my grandmother's and it looks rough
Merry Christmas, Roxana! Oh, seeing the colors in your garden has me excited for spring!❤ This is a great list that has me thinking of all the things I'd like to change or incorporate in my garden.
Merry Christmas, Roxana! What a delightful video today. Just the right time to refocus on spring and what will help us to improve our experience this coming season. Thank you! (And just what was in that mug? 😊)
Santa was very generous with some gorgeous indoor ceramic planters! And some solar lights and a new soil blocker to try. I'm mostly still going to use my trays, but I want to grow a bunch more dahlias from seed and I'm going to play around with it. But I am ordering onions and potatoes, so a new tool is on the horizon!
I really should add a birdbath to my pollinator garden... you have my wheels spinning about looking on Marketplace. Thanks!
Thank you for mentioning the birdbath! It is truly something that makes our gardens worth it
They are truly magical, aren't they?

It sounds like you have a very well-equipped garden space!
Great video! I agree with all your picks for helping in the garden. I need a Hoselink in my garden. Happy Holidays and a wonderful gardening new year!

Augh! I hear you, I grabbed a few peony divisions from my mom's garden and I need to get those in the ground.

I have to look into those adjustable ones.

Great video Roxana! I agree with all of these items!! Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas friend!
Love my mini rake also

There are so many to choose from out there, I might go look for some "antique" ones at the thrift stores.
Love my hoselink too! So much easier than dragging hoses all over!
Happy garden planning this winter!
Yes! Happy garden planning to you too!
Merry Christmas, Roxana! Oh, seeing the colors in your garden has me excited for spring!❤ This is a great list that has me thinking of all the things I'd like to change or incorporate in my garden.
Always a great day when one gets to dream and plan about the garden!
I bought the Fiskars shrub rake and it was a game changer! Love the other ideas as well. Must get the Hoselink next❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for this list, I love my mini rake also! I love your gardens, can’t wait to start my seeds when you do. You have so much good information.
I am starting a few cool flowers in January, stay tuned!
North west Indiana
Welcome!
Perfect ideas. Love the hose!!!!
It’s such a workhorse, I hope you are enjoying the holidays!
My favorite tool I’ve gotten to use in the garden is a cobra hoe from Baker Creek Rare Seeds. I highly recommend this tool.
That’s a great suggestion, I will check it out!

I'm a new viewer to your channel. I also live in IN, the southern half in zone 6b. Are you in 6a or 6b?
I am in the Central part of Indiana, about 30 mins north of downtown Indy, I'm 6a
Roxana - when is your birthday please?
Nov 26, always in the middle of Thanksgiving!
Is that a filter connected to your hose? If so what kind of filter is it. Thanks
