    Hi Sarah, for heart jumping, in English we have a saying 'makes my heart sing', which is kind of similar : ) and that really fine rain we call drizzle. But don't worry about what to say in English because your episodes in Dutchy English are perfect!

    This was one of my favorite episodes! I love the interpretation of the building colors in your fireside blanket. It makes me want to make one, so I can have heart jumping moments! Your photos and video at the end was lovely. I will watch it again, I’m sure! The project bags you were given as a thank you gift are truly stunning, and just your colors. The needle case will come in very handy. I use those plastic pouches in a notebook to keep my circular needles as well. Thank you for making this such a “heart jumping” episode for me. ❤❤❤ See you Friday.

    You sound delightful speaking “Dutchy English”. I think in English we might say “it makes my heart sing”. The misty, but very effective, rain is “drizzle”. 😁 Love your granny square projects. That blanket is gorgeous! I wouldn’t call your lovely skirt “A-line”, I would describe it as a “full skirt”.

    I finished my version of your blanket several weeks ago. I did mine in 100% Australian wool DK. I love how it turned out so much that I then went on to crochet the Fireside blanket. I’m now starting my second Fireside blanket! Thank you for the inspiration. I had never crocheted before, and these were my first attempt at granny squares. I’m hooked as they say.

    • @Juleslovesknitting

      Was it heavy with using DK? Thanks
      From another Aussie 🇳🇿

    • @heather5196
      @heather5196 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No. I don’t think it is heavy at all. I used cleckheaton and heirloom to get the colours I wanted. I found the cream in heirloom a much better weight than the cleckheaton. In fact, I think I prefer the heirloom overall. For my first fireside blanket I used Fiddlesticks DK and for the second one that I’m still working on I ordered the recommended yarn from Stylecraft which I ordered online. I like how both have turned out. Hope this helps.

    I have always liked the combination of different granny square sizes in a blanket. Red Heart & Lion Brand have some patterns on that theme too. I have yet to make one. I have made a few of Lucy's patterns as they are so fun to do.
    I noticed that when you were winding up your leftover yarns to make a magic ball that you were winding the wool tightly. 😞 This is a no-no! Think of the balls of wool that you buy in the yarn shops. They are lovely and squishy. That is how the balls of yarn that you wind should feel - squishy.
    Don't worry, You are not alone. A lot of people wind their wool/yarn too tightly and I have done it too. It is easily remedied. Rewind the Magic Ball keeping a finger or two under the new wraps. When you pull your fingers out to go in another direction with your winding, you will find that your ball is nice and squishy as it should be..
    The reason for winding the leftovers to be nice and squishy is to keep the wool in good condition and to make the wool last longer.
    Love the cardigan on the wall that was a bit too damp to wear.
    Love that your blanket is a tribute to your holiday in Prague.
    I have been knitting for 63 years and crocheting for 60. So you have a way to go to catch up. 🙂

    They say eskimos have 50 words for snow, in Shetland we have many words for rain. I would describe the rain you can hardly see as 'drush' noun or 'drushet' adjective in dialect. Those menstrual thinks are called 'tampons ' for the tiny bag the whole set of which was lovely. Thank you for showing us your beautiful Prague blanket. I can feel all the love in it and I hope all who sit on and in it feels the love too. Much love to you and yours❤❤❤

    I've noticed there are so many words in English from the Dutch. That thin rain is 'mizzle' in some parts of the country. I'm certainly going persist with crochet... and to learn how to join them neatly, which is definitely a work in progress!! m

      @@ruthdennisKnits I did too, and I love the muted, heathered, colours. It’s lovely yarn to work with, even though it is acrylic. It’s described as ‘premier’ acrylic, and I must say it is as nice as the 100% wool I used for the Prague blanket at about half the cost. Was worth the AUD30 postage from the UK to Australia!
