Gear Vendors should have told the builder in advance the ( how much )tunnel would need to be cut out and new sheet metal welded in place for overdrive shaft clearence. After all these years of installs Gear Vendors has that information. Mr. Jacket did a fantastic professional install that will last decades to come, well done sir.
Thanks for information. I'm wanting to purchase a gear vendor. I have th 350 street fighter with Ford 9" 411 gear in 71 camaro. 55-60 mph = 3000 rpm. I'm running 434 sbc with 630 hp .. I'd like to drive on highway but need another gear.
Yeah, looks like that driveshaft could’ve been a little bit longer more yolk into the vendors overdrive unit looks like only half of the yolk is in there that’s what I can see from the video
You would have to call them but I know they make the adapter for the TH400. You have to ask what other modes you would need on the tunnel or mounts. Thanks for watching.
pity you need to mod the floor brace to install the unit. just find that an unecessary inconvenience. is it possible maybe alignment of tranny /engine could have avoided this scenario ?
Unfortunately you have to modify most cars to fit this overdrive. Gear Vendors state that you may have to clearance the floor brace. The “C” channel is pretty thick all around and I should not harm the integrity of the floor. You would have to do the same to my Nova to make it fit. Thanks for your comment and watching.

Yes you would think they would know exactly what info to send for your cars installation...Thanks for watching.

Nice job. Where and how do you add the fluid to the gear vendors unit?
There is a plug half way up on the back of the drive and we did it with a transfer pump.....Thanks for watching....
The shop looks great in a coat of white paint!
Thanks Blair and it’s bright!!!
Very cool. Nice install!
Thanks and thanks for watching.
Good video Mike I enjoyed that
Thanks for watching Gary I need to catch up on your videos….. Working on the Novs so busy!!!!
Can you tell me what rear gears you have and what trans you have and what rpm you are turning at 60 mph and at 65 and 70 thanks
Hi John not my car but it's a THD350 with 3:73 Rear gears, I think the RPM is around 2500 at 65, hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
Will this unit be adapted to a 1973 C3 Corvette LS4 big block with a TH400 automatic transmission?

Nice work but I think you have too much yoke exposed. The instructions say maximum of 5/8" out of the output shaft or possible vibration can occur.
Thank-you that has since been corrected. Thanks for watching.
Nice job, Mike. That'll work well in the Camaro. Easier on fuel!!
Thanks Richard and yes it should help fuel mileage. Was fun to have it on my lift for a few days!!!
good tip
btw how much u pay for the unit ?
We installed this in Brad's car and i'm not sure what he payed for it....
@@Nova.1971I love my th400 gear vendors
.. you shouldn't hammer those u joints you could dislodge a needle bearing .. use a big C Clamp instead .. 👨🔧🧰
