    In this video, I talk about how reliable our 2016 GMC Yukon XL Denali has been over the past 8 years and 165,000 miles. We got it brand new back in July of 2016. I talked about how important it is to do all the proper required routine maintenance on big SUVs like this. If you take care of them right, they will be as reliable as any car out there! Obviously every vehicle will have a few issues here and there. Especially when they start aging and get up to higher mileage. Our Yukon Denali has had very minimal small issues here and there like any other vehicle does which I covered in the video. Other than that, we have had absolutely no issues with it whatsoever. It’s been a great vehicle and should continue to be!

    Great Video, People are starting to realize that the K2xx are becoming a vehicle that will stand the test of time. Its really not a surprise as its a follow on with both the GMT800 and 900 with very little changes made from the 800. Yes there have been issues with AFM and the AC condenser but there have been many engines made and really only a small percent have had lifter problems. The newer trucks however the jury is still out with the IRS on the rear and the Lifter investigation by the Government.
    I do love your red color and the rims go nicely. 2016 was the last year that they made the dash lights red. In 2017 GM gave the same blue color to both GMC and Chevy with Cadillac sticking with their Hideous CUE and dash. I have a 2017 Suburban and the only things that went wrong were the Battery which was no surprise and the rear suspension pump for the Z95 Mag Ride. The pump got hit by a rock so it was still working but it was noisy and it was a piece of cake to replace. I had a 04 Suburban and this 2017 is superior to it in every way from fuel economy to rust prevention. The benefit of having Plastic as body panels. Again Great video and i hope you have many more years with this vehicle, its a Keeper.

      @@Kieran-q4t yeah, they are amazing vehicles! And yeah I don’t understand why they got rid of the red gage cluster on the 2017-2020 models. The red looks wayyy better!

    We just picked up our 2017 Yukon Denali XL with 96,000 miles on it. It was a steel at that mileage one owner we were looking for months and we came up with this one. I’m loving it so far.

    As far as the ac temp not matching . Check into getting the (Blend Door Actuator) replaced. It’s a small part . I know on the previous gen Tahoe/Yukon it’s a cheap and easy fix under passenger dashboard . It basically is a black box that has motors inside of it that responds with dual climate control temperature changes. Eventually they wear out and one side of the ac or heater stops matching the other because the motors that change temperature in them when you change it in the dash the motors get week and eventually stop working where one side is cold and other may be hot. I would just google blend door actuator and it can explain much better. My Tahoe had exact issue it is also fully loaded and I replaced that part & it immediately fixed. Just plugged it in and driver and passenger temps worked perfect . Google can definitely explain the purpose better but this has been a common issue with GM trucks. Mine wore out about the same milage as yours . Maybe closer to 175k miles. Any mechanic should be able to do it quickly unless your generation is harder to work on. The 07-14 Yukon was super easy above the floor board . Good luck and nice ride. I’m looking at one too. I want the Denali motor but might get an SLT just for the less complaints with the 6 speed trans. I really wanted an Escalade but they also until 2018 had the 8 speed & don’t want to pay that much since I’ll be paying cash . Nice ride still looks new man

      @@MichaelB-u9e thanks for the info! Really appreciate it! We had it in at the dealership and that’s exactly what they said was wrong. However, they said it was gonna be over $2,000 so my mom said screw it and we’ll just fix it if it gets worse or wait until next summer so it must be harder on this gen. The SLT Yukons are nice too. And yeah we have taken great care of this car and we plan on keeping it around awhile longer!

      @@TheRKHCollection I can’t believe that they quoted that much for repair . This series must be much harder for replacement as the last series (I still own) took maybe 30 mins…
      You can always check with a smaller mechanic shop if you know anyone and get your own part online it ranged from $40-70. Which was about what I paid back then ! Anyways good luck … if you do find an independent mechanic who can replace it for a good price I would do both driver and passenger side just to be safe . All depends on how reasonable the price is. Again, good luck! Now you know what’s wrong hopefully you guys know someone handy who can save a lot of $. Also TH-cam ac reset on 2016 Yukon. Most cars have that feature where it resets the whole ac system by holding in a couple dash buttons for a few seconds and you will hear the car/ ac doing it’s calibration for a minute . Take care!

    Nice review, i really want to buy this car but that lifter failure issue because of the AFM keeps me away from buying it

      If you do a AFM delete that helps reduce the likelihood of lifter failure.

    Hi, did you guys ever flush the transmission? Did you have to replace the transmission? Also, were the struts aftermarket or dealer? Thank you..

      @@canes7473 we have flushed the transmission once or twice. It’s still on its original transmission as well. The struts were replaced with ones from the dealer.

    Do you know how long the original battery lasted for?

    • @TheRKHCollection
      @TheRKHCollection  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bradroesler7072 I can’t remember exactly how long. I want to say like 2-3 years which is about how long they’ll typically last. Depends on the type of battery but my guess is our original one lasted around 2-3 years. I can’t remember exactly. It’s been so long. I believe we have replaced it at least twice. Maybe 3 times over 8 years. Can’t remember exactly. I’m sure mileage could play a slight factor in it as well. Ours is on the higher mileage side so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s on its 3rd or 4th battery.
