  • Why do the effects of some psychedelics last 10 hours, while others are over within minutes? Gitte Moos Knudsen is a translational neurobiologist and clinical neurologist with a large track record of research into serotonin 2A receptors. She will speak at ICPR on the reasons for long- or short-acting psychedelics, the future development of possible specific psychedelics, and what this will mean for future research and development.
Gitte Moos Knudsen (MD, DMSc) is one of the leading figures in the neurosciences, assisting various European Union nations to prioritize research and grants. This is a conversation between ‪@ThysRoes‬ and Gitte Moos Knudsen
In addition, her research into the brain and its chemistry during depression, Alzheimer's disease, and states induced by drugs such as GHB and ecstasy (MDMA) is at the forefront of world knowledge, and she is a noted scholar in these areas, publishing many papers on each topic.

So there's no need to look at external influences on a person's physical and mental wellbeing? All nature and no nurture huh? Psychedelic experiences are often about the way our subconscious mind has been programmed and conditioned by the external world. It's hard to take these scientists seriously unless they have first hand experience of psychedelic trips. There's so much more to it than serotonin receptors.
