- In this video i take my wife’s 2021 Wrangler and install 40” tires and a 4.5” lift.
Tires are Milestar Patagonia mt-02 40x1350x17
Lift is 4.5” X factor from Rock Krawler
Wheels are Dirty Life Beadlocks 17x9 with 3.5” back spacing
Shocks are Bilstein 7100 series
Beautiful Jeep my man!
Thank you so much
I got the Rock Krawler 3.5 Extrem flex with fox shocks ,rides like a cloud I'm gona go to the 4.5 ,wish I did it at the beginning
When I ordered this one the 3.5 coils were out of stock. I was on the fence about the 4.5 over the 3.5 coils which was what I wanted initially. Not mad at all how it sits with the 4.5” glad I went this route.
Nice ride. Check the date codes on the Rock Krawler lift as they have a TSB out for bad bushings and it's a lot of work and expense to change them
That’s good to know. I wonder if that’s why they were on back order for so long? I just received mine a month or so ago after a long back order. Any information on where I can find info ont he tsb?
@@lowrangelee There is a RK TH-cam video on it. It's a sticky situation. The bushing mfg made an inferior product. RK stood behind it and supplied replacement bushings, but you had to file a claim for labor with Daystar, the bushing mfg, and they are less than cooperative. Removing, rebuilding and reinstalling the bushings is a big job, $1k plus at a shop. I elected to toss them and replace with IRO.
@@hatenlebron just saw that video. That stinks. Looks like mine was made after that fiasco. I have IRO 3 link front and 4 link rear kit on my wj. It’s solid and the bushings are pretty decent as well.
Thanks for the video. What fenders did you go with?
First I did the bush wacker deletes and they sucked. Next did the kbd short fenders not a fan of these either the turn signal has went really dull. Going to try some metal
Motobilt ones next
Love the video! How does the 2.0 like the 40s?
Way better then I anticipated. Im at 7000 feet elevation. It still pulls really hard. Kinda impressed. Im still going to throw a 5:13 gear set in it soon. But it’s most definitely comfortable with the 4:10s. How ever it hasn’t seen 8th gear since 😆
Did you re gear your Jeep after putting the 40’s on it?
I have not. I have plans to do 5:13s but to my surprise it gets around really good with the 40s and the stock 4:10 gears. I actually don’t mind it at all on the highway.
I have the 3.5 Krawler kit, thinking about changing sproings and shocks to make it 4.5 . Did you change driveshafts?
I haven’t done anything to it yet! I’ve had it flexed out many times and no issues. I plan to do a “round 2” this winter and get some drive shafts. Truss. Re gear. Shafts.
@@lowrangelee i am running with 40s with stock 4.10 gears and ive been very impressed. Averaging 18 mpg and have plenty of power. With the 3.5 lift i still have occasional rubbing thats why im thinking about going up to 4.5 lift. Dont really wanna start cuting and trimming fenders.
@@65dalexander I’d go for it! I get some rubbing on the back a little. I haven’t cut anything on the back yet. I still need to trim some on the back. But I like it how it is. I see the same results about 18-20 on the highway.
Looks sick! What wheel size and offset?
17x9 and 3.5” back spacing!
How did those beads work out for you?
If you’re referring to the balance beads. Not so well. I had good luck on my previous jeep but for some reason this one didn’t have the same outcome. Still a little shake.
Are you changing the ball joints to?
Plans this summer do include getting some different knuckles. Ball joint delete kit. Rcv shafts. Truss and c gussets
@@lowrangelee o ok , going all out lol.
@@Rubicon14 I’d like to think I can make this front end last for a couple of years until I do an axle upgrade. Here’s hoping
@@lowrangelee your axles should be fine they are Dana 44 ?
