Hello everyone! I've just spent 70 hours in Pax-Dei early access building my castle while playing solo. So here is my tour and a couple tips for beginners playing Pax-Dei.
I'm a dad with a full time job and university. I love this game and play solo. I love the grind. I don't have much free time to play, so a game like this shouldn't be for me. I finished my house and found the game to be a very relaxing break from real life. There's no rush to do anything, and that works well for me.
I love this game, I play with my sister and we bought tier 2 and upgraded to tier 3 a few days later. We have played over 100 hours so far and enjoyed it despite the bugs and such. We can't wait for the commerce update and future ones. This is an amazing game.
Really enjoying your videos and I feel the same way about the game. Looking forward to seeing how the game develops and grabbing a cup of coffee with your next video.
People act like the grind in this game is SOO hard when people do things like maxing out hardcore ironmen on OSRS where one skill takes over 300 hours to max IF you have inventory and bank space.
I prefer to experience a new game trying out everything first. Even being in a test group things have grown and improved. That said larger guilds have established people that prefer to do certain things lessening the chance to ever have those roles which takes away from my own growth , understanding and experience. Solo or a small group is ideal when trying something out for me. I test out and try new ideas constantly. Loved what you did, it's very inspirational.
@misssequoiasun I definitely agree! Especially with this game and the amount of content we have right now, I feel it's a great experience to have solo or with a small group. Also that you don't get bored before they add new content.
@thewildernessstudio4371 yea man the place came out awesome!!! Love it. I just saw the thumbnail and was like dude.....that looks like that guys spot kinda next to me hahaha
I agree, the building is what makes the game for me. A little bummed you gotta drop 100 bucks if you want to have 3 plots tho. i'm also nervous how expensive it will be after release when you have to pay for a sub per plot
The build looks amazing. One thing, if you don't mind, you will need A LOT more storage. I am completely solo as well and I have an entire storage room with like 50 or so chest and that's still not enough. But again, I love the build.
Nice build! A small tip is to use the small stone foundation blocks instead of stone walls. Castle walls were usually really thick so using the foundation blocks adds to realism, if that is your goal. This also makes it easier to build higher
What a friggin awesome build! ...absolutley love it man ..well done! Enjoyed the video ..clear and relaxed chat ..nice. I also bought the game to craft and build ( love the graphic style of pax dei) so im really enjoying it too. Do you know if there's Arches in the building options? ...wooden doorway arches or stone arches? I would love a big double iron hinged door for ..lets say a castle build?. Cheers
TH-cam just recommended your video and i'm so glad it did! A brother who is playing and loving the same game as me! Amazing! I'm also mostly solo but do have a couple friends that put in a little bit of work here and there. I will be watching! Jesus is KING!
It's all about the Journey, brother. Unfortunately, the vocal minority tend to be very loud. A lot of folks want to go fast. They're the ones that will burn out. Meanwhile, me and my 4 other friends are just having fun. There are some frustrating things and I feel like some of the gaps in some of the different "professions" are a bit weird. But aside from some server stuff the game has been pretty damn good. Ive seen and been in much worse EA's, hell Ive been in much worse Betas, lets be real.
I have a hard time thinking they have the right plan with the way plots and buildings work in Pax. I think people who want to build are going to want to keep building. The limited plots (or subscription-based plots) mean players will eventually run out building opportunities, and that seems like a major problem to me. If they add more stuff to do in time to shift the game away from building, then that won't necessarily be fun for the people who primarily enjoy building. I haven't bought it yet, but I really do love the idea of being able to build in a multiplayer world - I tried to get into "Boundless" multiple times because it offered this, but in a more minecraft style.
Hmm tbf not everyone had bad 1st day experience my experience was fine. It was only v late on that building elements didn’t pop into existence right away
What an amazing build. I chose a spot with too many trees on the edge of my plots, the foliage of which pokes through my second & third floors. Oops. Nixt wipe I'll find a more open spot. Where the heck are those torches you built?
The flickering started with me after update to latest Nvidia drivers few days ago. It seems to be fixed when changing from bordeless screen resolution to windowed or full screen
I been on it for 3 days and I still dont know how to make stone walls or pillars Also the wooden railings when do those come into play?... Its driving me crazy lol.... Took a full 10 hours to even find some clay half way across my map. But the update has fixed that issue. I been building a sort of multi story inn across from the lake where everyone builds there stuff. But I also been solo. I been focused on carpentry and black smithing as well. But still dont know how to do some of the things you got All in all its a great and complete look you got going on there love it thank you for sharing
@@thewildernessstudio4371 Some where between 15 and 20 Kinda slowed down because now I am having trouble finding heart wood. Even the first trees I cut down to get it wont drop it again. The castle walls and pillars suddenly appeared in my build list last night so I tore everything down and starting from scratch. The appeared after I set down some wedge base foundations.
@Perigrine85 once you unlock the wrought-iron chopping axe you will be able to cut down the large oaks and then you'll get 50 or more heartwood from them
can't be right - them streamers are saying you can't build one solo ;-) joking obv they need insta result for views, grinding ain't an option for them - good luck with your playthrough
I see you are a Christian. I have been playing this game a lot and am in love with it. Just curious to see if you have a clan or would consider starting one.
@WeeZachaeusGames yes my faith in Jesus is the most important thing to me. And also yes I'm planning on starting a clan at some point and I'll probably have info on that in one of my videos.
There's a guy across the river from me doing a stone tower build with one plot, it looks pretty promising. You can get 44 3x3 stone foundations on one circular plot (24m wide). Also, how is 2-4 plots for a solo player pay to win when a clan can gobble up half a valley with the clan owner never even working the land?
@@DawnChatman its funny how you gugs are defending the one thing thats keeping your game at 5k concurrent players though. Good luck with that. I wanted the game to do well so i could enjoy it but im not buying a game that will have 0 players by 2025.
@@trevors7905 It's not about getting time back, its about how you spend the time you have. Spending time on a virtual building in a game that is going to be wiped is just absurd. If the game was in a persistent state where your effort was retained maybe that time could be justified
I agree most people's reviews have been rough. Love this game

Very nice. I can’t believe you built that in 70 hours! Nice views as well. Like you, I have been loving Pax Dei.

That's impressive. This game has really blown me away.

They're adding more slots per storage box today! Hopefully that helps bring down how many you need.

Great video man! I've been looking for a video on how to build. No one on TH-cam give you all the little tips you did. Keep it up, you got my sub!
Thanks for sharing your build!

looks great! nice job
Really enjoy your videos -- presentation, personality, content -- keep them coming.
Imagine this game in the later stages when you have full on kingdoms having all-out wars.
Awesome and inspiring!
Absolutely gorgeous build! Notes taken 😊

Nice Build Sir!
Omg we are neighbours, I was at your house just the other day ! ❤ beautiful job
@amandag5987 awesome that's cool! If you need anything, let me know. Also be sure to check my public box at the front gate for extra stuff.👍
Very nice video
amazing castle. pax dei the best game
I really hope this game attracts those that enjoy the journey. People trying to speed thru and meta this game won’t enjoy it.
Looks incredible. Consider me inspired.
nice building.
They need to run with PVE and PVP and keep it clean, so far it's a farming and building game and in that it's done well and has been successful.
I'm loving the game so far. 84 hours in
Very nice build, Also a solo player at this point. I thing a good clan size would be about 10 solo leaning players.

Great videos! How do you do the flyover camera?
F7 but I’ve not tried it yet
Way cool castle, now we just need dragon riding.....
I think its going to be a great game. They are quick to put out patches and fix bugs. But it is def not a solo game.
how does building work is it anything like enshrouded building?
What an amazing build. I chose a spot with too many trees on the edge of my plots, the foliage of which pokes through my second & third floors. Oops. Nixt wipe I'll find a more open spot. Where the heck are those torches you built?
Thank you! They are built in the founders' table

@@psies2005 thank you! That seems to have worked!
Question - this being Early access, I heard they are going to wipe the world occasionally - do you know if they will also reset character progress?
Most likely everything will be reset before the full release that is a year from now

Do bases decay in this game? How long could you be away for before base is gone?
@johnharris5975 as far as I know there is no base decay on your plot. If you release your plot and move then buildings decay

do you live stream the game?
I don't but if I have enough people interested in watching me live steam would like to try.
And how many plots is that? The grabby monetization of the game once it goes live- pass.
Yeah now do that on one plot since its not pay to win.

Great building but why? Don't need it in the game.
For some people the building IS the game
Yah see i don't see the point of castles and fortifications....NO ONE ATTACKS us....EVER
it's for aesthetics man..
Also good practice for full game. WHEN THEY DO.
Well. There is 70 hours of your life you will never get back. You do realize this is all going to be wiped on release?
I'm an artist, I've had 70 hours or more on a clay sculpture that never made it to the finished casting process. A wipe doesn't scare me at all.
You could basically say that about any game or any pursuit. 70 hrs he had having a bunch of fun being creative.
Don't ever play RUST. Your base will be wiped a minimum of once a month. People still love building bases.
How many hours in your life have you ever gotten back? I'm really curious.
