MODDING HELP
I launched the game via .bat file, a prompt appeared about a sec and then nothing happened.
I also tried renaming it to start_protected_game as the readme file said but steam announced missing executable. If you know anything pls help, thanks in advance.
EDIT: Solved. Move all the content in the same folder with ME2 launcher to the game's directory, change ME2 launcher's name to start_protected_game.exe( remember to backup the original one). And set it to launch as admin. Launch the game at start_protected_game.exe and the mod shall run.
Ps: dont run eldenring.exe because steam will detect the launcher and replace it.
Ps: I also quit modding months ago and conveniently forgot all knowledge about modding so my sincere apologise to people who seek me but got no help.
I suggest joining Souls modders Discord server such as '?Servername?', talented modders up there might have better solutions.

do you have a video for mergin regulation bins? i wanna use and overhaul for magic with the grand merchant and both have bins, and i know you cant just plop them in the mod folder and call it a day
I cant seem to load up modengine2_launcer. As it loads of the cmd then closes almost immediately. When I run launchmod_eldenring I get told im doing something fishy. Does this mean I would have to follow through with the anti cheat mod?

i have seen this so many times, that people extract a zip or rar fiile just to copy it somewhere else. Just copy paste or drag the content to anywhere you need it. no need for additional steps

For whatever reason the bat file will not launch anymore, and I've tried everything.... window on taskbar pops up like it's launching and then immediately closes, not the first one it seems to have this problem either, but I've see no solutions....

auto closing might be a mod being used that's not compatible with the game version. have a check in the comments on the mods being used to see of there are other people having issues. EDIT: you can always put the mod engine 2 folder directly into the elden ring game folder if there is maybe an issue with it not locating teh exe

Mod scene here is absolute shit at communicating the mod process properly.
I still get error messages about inappropriate behavior and corrupt saves, and clicking cancel or OK just loops the messages. Can't enter the game.

I did all of this but cant get my mods to work :( I've downloaded Elden Ring mod loader trying to fix it but still cant get them to work. idk if its important but my mod engine file doesn't have the .bat at the end
Neither does mine. And I don’t know how to get that to show up. I load in and my elden ring is still vanilla with no mods but the game still puts me in offline mode because it knows something is different.

Everything was working till I tried to use this newer mod loader. Now none of my mods load. What's funny is I was using old mod loader and worked with everything but liked the idea of not having all the files in game folder. Guess what tho now nothing works but vanilla ER and shaders. Even after putting everything back using old mod loader. All I did was delete old shortcut because there's a new one and din8 file. But I put it back even the shortcut I deleted.
I'm not fixing this comment because that was 100% stupid and glad I caught it before rage quiting completely. If your having same issue in the newer ver. For some reason the mods folder is named mod. The S at the end was why nothing was working hence why those files I removed and brought back did nothing. Just make sure your mod folder says mods
ive been doing this for a couple hours, even dele6ed everything and restarted. I can get it to launch but when i get on elden ring through the mod loader the mods arent installed. it also forces my camera to spin anytime i plug any controller in. and i have my steam inputs disabled. i am unable to play online to begin with so i didnt download the "disable eca" could that somehow mess it up? and how tf do i stop spinning??

Strange. I did exactly as instructed for a specific custom weapon for pve. Game still plays as normal and the merchant doesn't sell the item. Even when launching from bat. Oh well.

Same. I downloaded a Torrent reskin mod and followed the steps (put mod into the mod folder of ModEngine2 and launch via the bat file of ModEngine2), yet Torrent is still the same.
i put both elden ring reforged and grand merchant mods into the folder. But it seems they are not compatible. Features such as deflect are gone and a lot of in game texts are unreadable. How can I combine them without these problem?
Ok so I'm gonna guess that both replace the regulation.bin ? If so then you need to merge both into a single regulation.bin file. The game can load only one. Here is a how to www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/articles/174

But what if i want multiple mods whose files have the same name? Im trying to install both the "Sword of Night and Flame - Unbound" and the "Ruins Greatsword - Unbound" mods who both has to install the "msg" folder for example
As long as they both don’t replace the same weapon then you can load both mods. After you have copied both mods open the msg folder and you will see the two files each mod replaces
everything seems to work. i downloaded fps mod and it didnt change anything at the main menu but upon getting to the menu i had a message say i have some nughty files on my game. very confused because engine 2 auto disables all of that. does it just say that no matter what?

I tried this and none of my mods are launching with the game,maybe its me but I tried the Grand merchant mod and its not working.

Hi, I wonder if you could help me please? So I modded ER like 2 years ago & everything worked fine but I recently came back for the new dlc & I can't get any of the new items to actually work. I just get an 'icon' text instead of the actual image. Unfortunately this means none of the new weapons, nor any of the new gestures, 2 of which are necessary for specific quests work either & my character won't die when imbibing St Trina's liquid (she falls down as if dead but then just gets back up again without dying). Obviously a mod I installed back then is breaking all the new stuff but it was so long ago that I've forgotten what I did lol. I tried verifying files on Steam but that hasn't fixed the issue so I'm kinda stumped. Could you tell me how to uninstall everything & redo it please? (in a way that won't invalidate my save file hopefully, as I only have this one character). Thanks

what about updating the "config_eldenring" file? the github says it needs to be done and I assume thats why I get tons of errors, not sure how to do it correctly tho
Does Mod Engine 2 no longer work? Followed the vid down to the letter, skipping EAC section. Tried using CCW mod no luck. Tried with a mod that was updated a few days ago and the launcher stills fails to load the game, even when ran as administrator . Am using steam version on windows 11 if that helps?
Yeah works fine for me. I just tested it and folowed the mod authors instructions. Place the file "regulation.bin" in "mod" folder created by Modengine 2!!!
And make sure the mod version matches the game version as well!!!
Mod engine 2 launched it fine and the mod was working

Am I supposed to use the dark souls 3 one and not the Elden Ring one? Because you downloaded the DS3 one in the tutorial.
I did the steps as you said. I put in a few mods in the mod folder, but none of them are working in my game. Not sure what I did wrong.
Also when I launch it. It gives me a message saying that "inapropriate activity detected, unable to start in online mode." Wasn't sure if that was still supposed to be there.
@@justinjones1852 Don't worry about that message it's basicallty confirmation that EAC has been succesfully deactivated for offline play. As for mods not working it's hard to help without knowing the mods you tried to use. My best advice is to always check mod engine is upto date for the most current game version and this also applies to mods. Mods can break in the same way. The comments of the mod on the nexus is a god place to start to check if there is an issue with the mod or not. Mod authors will also be happy to help. EDIT: also important to check a mods requirments on nexus and to fully read install/description on the mods page as there wil be mods thats are not just simply unpacked and put into the mod engine 2 folder. I hope this helps
using multiple mods will make you have to do more advanced steps like merging regulation.bin files if the mods conflict with each other which is why they usually don't work. Your mods work fine by themselves but mess up together is a quick way to put it.@@justinjones1852

Do you still need to do the disable EAC? I noticed when I open the game the current version of Mod Engine 2, it didnt open EAC. To be safe its probably better to do it, just curious if anyone knows

Mod Engine 2 is a mess. This is evident by the number of guides and how-tos have appeared online along with forum posts about the game not starting after ME2 was installed and ME2 doesn't even offer an explanation for the crash. Any program that requires more user input than "Install and Run" has a lot of work to be done before its developer should consider it complete.
for anyone else having this issue with graphics being all wonky when starting the game with mod engine, turn off raytracing. It fixes the issue entirely.

I was interested in playing the Convergence mod with the first person mod, in this case would I simply put both mod folders into the "mod" folder of Mod Loader 2 and run the launcher? Or is there something else I would need to do?

I want to download mods but I'm worried I could lost my vanilla characters, I have so many hours invested on them and I don't want to accidentally delete them over a mod or get banned.....how reliable is that anti-cheat disable exe? Can I switch from mod & vanilla whenever I want? Because I want to try out this modded Malenia I saw yesterday but I'm a little hesitant :/
backup your save file prior to modding for peace of mind. Disabling EAC is 100% reliable. You’re literally forcing the game offline

You're better going to the convergance mod page and checking compatibility with other mods. I know it's an overhaul but I have never used it so I can't really give you any advice sorry

if you want to check more than one mod and both of them have the same directories under the same name, how to do it? when I create a separate directory for another mod in the mod folder, the game no longer sees it

@@SMACKYOURB1TCHUP I tried unpacking it and I tried viewing it like you did in the video and it instead has two seperate files, similar to the one we unpacked, but I can't unpack these ones. I could get the name for you in a second if that helps. Is it possible I downloaded the file incorrectly?
@@tastywinner2848 I dunno it unpacks and looks fine to me. You can avoid this step anyway because mod engine 2 disables online play for you EDIT: have you downloaded the main file ? You need to download the OPTIONAL file called disable EAC

ME2 starts the Elden ring exe. Start protected game.exe is for easy anti cheat. ALSO ME2 forced game offline anyway
