Just a bit of constructive criticism: I wish you would also address women of color in your videos. Like it is now, you are talking about all women but only showing women of a few similar shades and I'm sure a bright/dark winter can also be of deeper complexion too. This would make your videos way more helpful for all women out there. :)
Agree. I'm dark winter with a darker tan skin tone and freckles, if she gave more of a range it would help a lot more people.
Wow your comment has the most likes by far so it’s clearly a need.
There are numerous channels on TH-cam covering this topic for all ethnicities and complexions you only need to look.

just an fyi - at 10:31, the top two photos are of jennie from blackpink, but the bottom two are of jisoo (also from blackpink). they possibly have the same coloring anyway, but they're not the same person :)
Thank you for your detailed insight! I've recieved feedback that I'm a deep winter and a bright winter. Based on your analysis of the differences between the two, I believe I"m a bright winter!
Thank you for sharing ❤️
hey there, just wanted to correct you, 1:11 the girl in the picture is Irene from red velvet, not jisoo from blackpink
It has always been difficult for me. I am a Winter with very light skin, very dark brown/black hair with warm autumn-like hazel eyes. I need to wear very clear, saturated colors, but not super bright. I can wear several spring colors like bright poppy and also some autumn colors, like rust, if I cool it down with navy. Many of the Winter colors are too heavy for me. So I think I’m mostly a Bright Winter with some warmth. I don’t seem to fit in any category.
I am similar, go back to the old trick of looking at the veins on your wrist.
I’d recommend also looking at bright spring!
That sounds like me. Winter, that clear colouring but I have blue/green eyes. I don’t think I’m that bright but also need clear colours. I’m struggling to recognise colours that are clear without being too bright, or not too bright without being too muted. It’s a process! I also feel like I’m walking a tightrope in terms of warm /cool. The silver drape made me look grey. The gold drape made me look healthier but was too gold. Warm pinks and greens are too warm and pull out yellow. It’s strange. I can wear silver jewellery, and seem to be able to wear gold too, but that’s probably because it’s a small area. If I went for a metallic dress it would have to be a pale gold, like a champagne. It would need lots of sparkles as it might wash me out.
If gold suits you more than silver, it sounds like you may not be a winter? From your explanation, sounds like spring or autumn@cathwalsh9921
@@awilliams7796 after much thought and looking around… I think I’m a very pale olive. I think the yellow of my skin fools me that I’m warm, but if I wear coral it just doesn’t look quite right. Anything too light (surprising because my skin is really light) or slightly warm doesn’t look right. I think the silver reflected up too much because it’s too light and clashes with the olive. The gold looked better because it merged with the olive. Purples look amazing. Royal blue does too. Peach doesn’t. I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m a true winter.
I'd love to know which shades of foundation, blushes, concealers, and eyeshadow look good on different types of winters. Which brands to be specific.
Your video helped me find I'm a bright winter. Thank you! :D
I'm so glad!
Ahhh I have always suspected that and you finally confirmed it in this perfect video 😭😭😭😭
So can Deep Winters west colors from bright winter and deep autumn?
I can't for the life of me tell if I am a dark winter, true winter or bright winter. If anyone's curious, you can see the different colours and how they clash with my complexion with some outfit choices I made in my YT videos. 😂
In my "Anime Censorship in the 90s" everything about the look is wrong, whereas in "Diving into the Shape of Water" I feel like I'm a lot more in harmony. My skintone is very pale, think OSLO (cool tone) in Nars or chantilly (pale neutral) and my eyes are a dark hazel. My natural hair colour is a dark ashy brown. So anyway, I am completely stumped.
I’d say dark but it’s hard to tell as you have make up in all of the videos :)
@@polinakuzmina677 Thank you!!! 😂 Yea I haven't uploaded anything barefaced unfortunately.
So the season is made up of 3 things: bright vs muted, dark vs light and cool vs warm. If you are winter, you have cool undertones. So we have established that. You still have to establish if you are light vs dark and bright vs muted. If you are light, your eyes glow/sparkle and have a light to them, even if they are brown or hazel, and your skin is more pale than tan. And if you are bright, your features should clash with each other, you should have a big contrast between the paleness of your skin and the color of your hair or eyes, and this contrast should be the first thing someone noticed about you when they see you. If you are muted, then there is no such contrast in your appearance and you are most likely a dark winter. If the most striking thing about you is a contrast, then you are bright winter (bright + cool = bright winter). If the first thing you notice about you is the coolness in your undertones, and not the contrast or the dark features, then you are true winter (cool+bright = true winter). Also, keep in mind that bright winter is next to bright spring on the palette. And we tend to look good not only in our own colors, but also in the colors of the neighbouring seasons. If you also look good in bright spring colors (which has a warm undertone, so it's very different from true winter and dark winter), then you are definitely a bright winter.

@@tabby25hope your explanation was so helpful, thank you! ❤
Lots of great advice there for a bright winter. I will experiment a bit more with colour combinations in and outside my bright winter palette. I get very bored of the bright winter palette colours, all the fuscia lipstick can seem a bit juvenile at times. I’d like to venture into the deep autumn palette like that last look on Meghan Fox.
Great video! I suspect I am a winter but have wondered why autumn and spring colors like orange work well on me
I'm glad it was helpful somehow ;)
I’m guessing you have a more warm undertone.
You may not be. As a winter I look sick in orange and rusty colors
Let me just stop to say that you look absolutely gorgeous! You have such beautiful eyes!
Oh thank you!
As an Asian I would say Jisoo looks her best in sharp cuts and dark, cool colors. Her brackets should be within Dark winter and Bright Winter which makes her the perfect True winter. She might be able to pull off brighter colors from Bright Winter palette but when she steps on Bright Spring it throws her cool, clean & sleek look off, same with Dark winter where there are dark maroon and its warmness would weigh her features down.
And Jennie should be a Dark Autumn as she looks better in deep warm colors with grungy cuts (rather than those sharp & clean, contrast silhouette of Winter palette) which fit her softer, rounder features. Jennie would be thrown off in sharp suits and even stiff/over sculpted hair style which Jisoo would thrive in :)
I am not sure about Jennie. I think she is a neutral and her natural hair color is dark brown-black but she always dyes it brown to lighten up her look. If you look at her predebut photos she had dark almost black hair. She looks the best in bright red color. Not so much in dusty/pastel although she looks great in pastel blue
Jennie is deep autumn, and Jisoo is soft winter
The best video on bright winter! Thank you so much! It helped me choose the colours palette for my apartment also. Previously I had pastels, but bow I included some high contrast and I feel much better 😊
Glad it was helpful!
Please do bright vs true winter. I can't decide which I am 😅. I just know that in natural light, I'd have to wear red lipsticks. Thank you!
This works good for me and my designs its hard to find dark winter colors that match well in the ph due to Forced cherry artificial neons
I have an overtone of yellow, however I’m categorized as dark winter w/ cool neutral undertone. However, It’s usually not advised to go blonde for us winters due to the lack of contrast it would bring. I rlly despise ashy grey/white hair on me though. Would the slightly light beige platinum hair on the asian model (Soo Joo) you showed @1:25 work for deep winters? If not, do you have any suggestions other than grey hair?
There is a subreddit called Color-analysis Is asked what kind of blonds can deep winters have. A lot of good advice there with examples.
Wow, that was so helpful. I haven't seen another youtube channel going into the details and explaining everything so well.
Thank you ;) That's because I'm an artist/painter with a deeper understanding of the color rather than just being a stylist.
What's the difference between bright and true/cool winter?
I think that the main feature for true/cool winter is their coldness, while the main feature of bright winter is their brightness.
@@PuripuriDrawings but how can you tell which is your main feature when you have both?
Could you compare Bright Spring to Bright Winter?
Sure I can :)
@@FilosoFashion Thank you 💜
So bright winter type CAN have brown eyes? 👀 many websites have infographics with no brown eyes for this colour season. I was so confused because everything else in me is just textbook bright winter🤣
I'm a Bright Winter and I have very dark almost black eyes :)
I thought I was a dark winter. My eyes are light hazel, my skin is super light, my hair is black and my most predominant aspect is that i look better in bright saturated colors, so I must be a bright winter. That explains why i look so good in warm spring colors. But not so good in pastels sadly. I had red hair for a while and it looked amazing, that made me question why? If i'm a winter, shouldn´t reds and oranges look bad on me?
Perhaps the red you had used was cool toned
If it's blood red/deep red and not orange red, then it explains why.
@@tkraid2575 yeah I found it and I hope they did
can a bright winter like megan fox also have warm olive undertones? i thought all winters have a cool undertone?
She does have a cool undertone, but her color palette can expand tremendously if she changes her appearance, for example, adding warm tones to hair, eyes, and tan. Her dominant palette will always be winter according to her natural features, but when she comes back from a "vacation in Mexico", she is also able to use neighbouring color palettes like Spring due to tan, or orange colors that are not a part of standard winter palette.
Bright winter is considered a neutral leanings towards cold and all I have to say is that neutral is confusing
Thank you so much for showing Fair Skin Winters. Almost all the other channels only show tan, brown & very dark skinned. I thought I must have been incorrect with my season evaluation. 😊 Thank you so much,
You are so welcome!
Should winters avoid black by the face as we age?
I'd say that you really have evaluate how much grey undertone appeared in your overall appearance. If you noticed less contrast to what it has been previously - probably you could lean towards Autumn colors more. But that all depends on each individual case.
love the Blackpink members examples ❤❤❤❤
Thank you ;)
I'm hard of hearing. What type of woman does she say at the 3:27 mark?
Bright, extravagant, charming and passionate - this is a typical Winter color Type represents. :)
@@FilosoFashion thanks!
Aren't there too many yellows in the depicted Bright Winter palette?
As a Bright Winter I have found yellow, especially light one, as one of the worst colors for me. When it's an icy lemon yellow or sunflower yellow it works but again it doesn't have the wow quality that we are seeking with color analysis.. Orange is actually better than yellow for a Bright Winter but both are mediocre colors..
It'd be nice to see few examples of ideal colors ranging from neutrals and light colors to dark colors!
It seems to me that online palettes just contradict themselves and don't actually work.. e.g. one just can't imagine Meghan Fox in yellow due to her fair and sallow skin and its quite certain that she is a Bright Winter..
Apparently our best and almost only yellow is marigold. I’m wearing a clear sunflower yellow right now and I think I’m carrying it if not that well
@shirin9452 is that you in the pic? Just by seeing you and I think I've gotten a good eye for color analysis, I think you might be an Autumn.. This means colors like khaki and yellow will look good on you while they make me as a Bright Winter look sick xD You have medium contrast, appear rather muted and the olive tones in your eyes and skin point to Autumn.. I could try to color analyse your pic tomorrow if you want!
@@margaritanoir it is indeed me, without makeup, but a couple months ago when I bleached my eyebrows because…I…don’t know when to not do things. You’ve reminded me to change my pic though as it basically makes zero sense and my black brows have grown back in now. I’m gradually dyeing my hair lighter and lighter to get back to blonde, albeit with my natural jet black roots. But right now, I am stuck in the orange brown stage because my stylist doesn’t want my hair to fall out. I am pretty much as bright winter as you can get in person-literally any color except neon looks like it could be brighter lol. I have natural silver black hair, black brows, pink cheeks, molasses colored eyes. In fact, I’ve been really bemoaning how warm my hair is right now as I’m highly sensitive to rusty colours around my face. I couldn’t possibly look worse than I do in Autumn colours for the record 😂 I’d love to hear your thoughts though as I’ve only draped myself and never actually been confirmed. I do know that I could never be a warm season as I have a spring sister to compare to and can see what warm seasons look like. I went from summer (dull) to deep winter (vampiric) to true winter (needed more pigment), to bright winter (I already wear bright colors I just didn’t realize they’re bright because they feel normal to me). So feel free after I update the pic!
@shirin9452 don't worry about the eyebrows or even the hair color as they don't affect your result! I just tried coloring around your pic on my screen (my phone is cool like that) and I tried orange and pure blue on you and neither is bad.. I'd need to look tomorrow but you could be a very neutral case.. Have you tried true blue/ royal blue vs orange on you and silver vs gold? It'd help finding if you have a warm or cool undertone! You might well be a rare case..
However I still don't see Winter for you because Winters have a certain coolness as though they're wearing a highlighter and contrast even when they're tan.. I know because I can tan and used to tan a lot as a kid but somehow my skin has this iciness to it like Lupita Nyongo or Katy Perry
@@margaritanoir Bright Winters can be neutral-cool, which is likely what I am if I’m not conclusive. I look really bad in orange so not sure what happened there but thank you for making me look okay for once, orange. I have naturally pink cheeks; I always look best in silver and I avoid gold though I realized a year ago that it doesn’t actually look bad. Oh I also have blue violet veins LOL.
I thought hair and eyebrows did matter, to a degree. BWs are thought to never be blonde, for instance. But yeah, I’m just an Indian girl who keeps messing with her hair and brows and looks-like I said I don’t know when to stop. I have extremely high contrast naturally. I maintain that my natural cool black hair colour doesn’t suit my facial features unless mixed with a similarly cool light colour. Eventually it would be jet black roots with platinum ends. When I did an espresso brown it was everyone’s fav colour but mine.
But definitely high contrast naturally as I can easily take neon lol. This is the yellow I’m wearing now, and as I said, not my best colour but I think it’s looking ok.
No worries I’m just curious don’t need to rush to type me haha. I appreciate any feedback!
so enlightening and thorough
My favorite color is orange and my entire life it's the only color that never ever suit me 😭
