    I was inspired from your "$400 to Ferrari" series and i bought a $500 car, put $250 into it and sold it today for $2500 (took 2 weeks from the day i bought it to the day it sold) might have to start my own youtube series doing the same thing :)

      @More Haters? Really! nah. The car was in great shape. The seller parked it for a few months and it wouldn't start afterwards so he just wanted it gone. Turned out to be a bad battery and starter relay. I swapped em and it ran great. Clean trans and all. The kbb on it was 4500 with the miles and condition of vehicle, but the wife was mad i bought it so i posted it super low so it would sell fast. Anf i still made great profit.

      @RatediLyy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I get what you're saying but the reason really he cant do that because at public auctions buyers go there to buy and drive cars and at the dealer auctions buyers go there to get a good deal and flip cars so prices are always lower in dealer auctions

    • @muskokamike127
      @muskokamike127 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@RatediLyy well plus, dealer auctions are wholesale, and public auctions are retail.

    • @muskokamike127
      @muskokamike127 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The same rules apply at public auctions: don't buy a ford 5.4L, don't buy a used BMW, know what you're buying, and do a thorough inspection. There's one where I live that allows you to start the vehicles but not drive them.
      The thing is: dealers can go to both, the public can't. The issue with the one near me is the dealers drive up the prices. Specially these days when new cars weren't being built so inventory was really low. A lot of US dealers come up here due to the favourable exchange rate (30%) so they can pay full Canadian Retail for a vehicle, pay to have it shipped to the US and still make 20% on it. That's not including mark up and it doesn't cost any more to ship a $40,000 vehicle vs a $1000 vehicle.

    • @jarrellidk
      @jarrellidk 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Theres literally people in the comments saying he inspired them to do the same thing except they found the cars other ways. Adding to that, he said he did this before he even had a dealers license. But I'm sure the license makes it much easier.

    I am a total car guy, and would probably enjoy doing this sort of work. Unfortunately in Michigan, they changed the laws to make the barriers to entry substantial. You have to have a physical business location with regular hours, have to have repair facility or one who wiil sponsor you, your lot has to have a certain capacity... and so on. I think it was an overreaction to the Craigslist flippers a few years back, but it really hinders decent ppl from entering the business

    • @yeolblt

      In what way was it a pain?

    • @Alps6408
      @Alps6408 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@yeolblt hagglers, knowing when to sell etc... no shows, people who agree via eBay etc and then try to throw a lower offer after they view the car. Also, insurance and licenses! I’m not a dealer at all, just had a guy who had no license wanting to buy the CLK63... 480bhp... overall it took 2 weeks to sell the 63 and 5 weeks for the 55. Amazing cars though!

    • @7Walter7
      @7Walter7 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@yeolblt Flipping cars is a lot of work. You need a way to transport whatever vehicle you're planning to flip, have a place to store it, and the mechanical ability to fix it. One hidden issue could grenade your entire chance of profit. Notice this guy already has his own truck + trailer to transport it, employees so his labor cost is cheap (if you can't fix it yourself and have to take it to a mechanic, your labor costs will be high). Then take into account you'll likely have to pay sales tax because you don't have a dealers license, so that further eats into your profits.
      If you decide to get into flipping cars (or just flipping anything in general), make sure the price you pay is low enough that even in the WORST case scenario you can break even. Get into something so low that no matter what you don't get burned (this is the hard part - the patience/ability to find the right deal - which most people DON'T have). One good example is Ed Bolian from VinWiki. That guy is so sharp that -- without even trying -- he makes money on whatever car he buys.
      Car business is a pain in the ass. There's much easier stuff out there to flip than cars. This guy Flying Wheels is legit. He has his own successful dealership. He's a hustler. But be wary of most other youtubers claiming to make money from cars. 90% of them are bullshitters and are making money from the video content, not from the actual car flip itself. The numbers rarely add up.

    If I was picking up family and everything, I would definitely choose the Audi just because of it being a big car, and everyone could fit comfortably. But I was going to say I would definitely use the STI after the snowstorm, because those things eat snow like nothing. With that all wheel drive system Subarus just pile on snow like nothing, it's unbelievable and it being a STI with over 300 horsepower it's a fun little beast. Also, it can handle anything thrown at it! just not a lot of modifications, then it starts to complain a little... LOL

    Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget (Swedish Airplane Limited) is what SAAB stands for.
    2003 was the first year of the redesigned new generation 9-3, which featured a GM designed B207 Ecotec engine. Prior to this, the old generation 9-3 was equipped with a Saab-designed B205 with a Trionic 5 engine management system. These had a red ignition coil pack, commonly called a direct ignition cassette (DIC). In many ways, it was similar to the new generation 900 that it replaced. SAAB Automobile AB continued to make their own engines after 2003, specifically the B235 (with Trionic 7), which was in production in the 9-5 until that car’s redesign in 2010. Interestingly enough, from ‘99 to ‘03, you could purchase a 9-5 with an Opel-Vauxhall-GM V6 B308e engine.
    SAAB is still around and in production, though there is no longer an automobile division. They are continuing to make jets, both military and commercial for Sweden.

    Have you ever repo'd a car from a customer not paying and how did you go about it. How would you recommend a new small dealership to go about this process. That would make a great video.

    I'm a new subscriber and really enjoy your channel and the fantastic content. I've been casually and responsibly flipping cars for a few years for vacation money mostly but mainly because I so much enjoy it. I'm still watching and going through all your previous episodes so I'm don't know if you have discussed or been asked the question about importing used vehicles from Canada. West coast cars have next to no rust and with the high US $ you could make some really good buys. Keep up the fantastic content..love all of it!!

    this came out amazing, i really want to get into used car sales as a side hustle and if it goes well then probably full time as i detail cars atm and i'm dabbling in mechanics and i feel this would combine the both together well, only issue is, im 17 and in the uk where used cars are either cheap but awful or out of my price range and cars that wont sell

    I love my 2.0. With a stage 1 tune (for the bigger turbo 2.0), can put you at around 250-265 hp, and with them not weighing much, they're pretty quick cars. The smaller turbos like this one comes stock with 175, and I think with a stage 1 tune those can be put around 205 hp. Great cars nonetheless and because people don't really know about them, they tend neglect them and not take care of them.

    Right on! Thanks for the video. I just started getting cars at auction and there were a few Saab cars up for grabs. I like them personally but I thought that they'd be hard to sell for some reason so I stayed away. Maybe I should reconsider. Time to do some research! Anyone know about Saab? What models to look for? Are they durable and able to withstand time and milage?

    9-3's are everywhere for short money over here. Even low mile ones. I figure there's gotta be a reason for it. People wouldn't be ditching them for next to nothing if they were satisfied with them.

    Keep it up Craig. Can you do a video on how to make the leap to open a car dealership? Hard to quit the 9-5 on a prayer. Dealerships in IL require so much to start up before even achieving license and then on top of it you need to be there 5 days a week according to the rules. Hard to start on the side. Managing it from the side I wouldn’t trust someone else running my dream. Thoughts?

    Great cleaning job! The car sounded very good too. Did you check the documents that came with the car to see when the last brake fluid and oil/filter changes were done? It wouldn’t cost a lot to change them both.
