I'm not sure about your description of the Edge. As I see it, he lost sight of his purpose. The purpose of the Jailers is to keep the Stranger locked in. That should have been the Edge's goal as well, but eventually his goal became to just master his craft and fight the greatest fight of his life. There's a world of difference between honoring your opponent, and straight up giving them advice and encouragement on how to make the fight better.
The Chain didn't lose only because he was arrogant, but it was because of his sadistic pleasure that he enjoyed torturing The Stranger, and saw fighting him as a game/was very cat-mouse with him., everything else was pretty spot on tho
@@calsalitra4689 And well, he threw away his sword to fight you with a fucking oar. He thought he had the upper hand and that his training made him invincible. Aside from maybe the chain, the Edge is the most arrogant of all. He just saw you as a way to test his strength, never even considering the possibility of losing and the consequences of it.
@@saitamasama5743 I disagree, throwing away a sword in favor of an oar is perfectly valid if you have the strength to use it. The oar gives you more range and WAY more blunt force to work with. Realistically, range alone gives a massive advantage and power allows you to easily break guards. In real life simple staff's are very competitive weapons against swords for those two reasons. Only reason they weren't used in warfare is because people put points on them and made spears. An oar in comparison would be much slower but stronger due to weight balance issues, but the Edge clearly has the strength to use his oar without any speed loss. All of this is especially true if the Edge has more skill with the oar. Martial artists have been known to drop weapons entirely due to a lack of familiarity relative to their hands. Swapping out a weapon that isn't really working in favor of a longer, stronger alternative that you also happen to be more skilled with makes perfect sense.

I find it fitting how this dude has an "old master" personality. Cause beating this guy pretty much proves you have the skills to beat the rest of the game.
Lots of people talking about how the Line is super cool and he is, don't get me wrong, but what he did for me was solidify how truly dangerous the Stranger really is. Think about it, this guy can in a field control the flow of time, he can peer into the future as if it was a movie and the Stranger did not incapacitate him, he didn't remove his ability to influence or peer through time... he "made the picture stop"
I haven't even played the game and I love this piece of music. There's such a contagious pulse and rhythm to it that makes listening to it very engaging when writing action scenes in stories and stuff
In my opinion my favorite thing about this guy is the final phase music you would feel intense if you listened to this on headphones while fighting the guy
Surement ma plus forte expérience de boss du jeu, et mon émotion n'aurait pu être plus grande sans cette incroyable musique. Merci infiniment aux artistes pour cet apex du JV qui m'a tant touché.
The music in this battle cinched the entire game for me. Fighting the line was the testing grounds for your ability for the rest of the game realizing that it was only getting harder from there and the line was NOT simple.
Here's a tip for beating this dude: Do like Rich Homie Quan and never stop goin' in. You can interrupt his big swings and wave attacks by charging up your attack a bit and doing it right before. He'll then do normal, parriable attacks. Always try to hit him with charged attacks when he's not on shooting mode. If he's shooting, there is a pattern to it. If you have experience with shmups, you'll see it super easy.

but i like to take it slowly
777 likes. I wanna like so badly, but that's beautiful.
I'ld ragequit on this game so many times if it wasn't for its soundtrack... ^_^
same with me but with hotline miami. just the soundtrack alone keeps you fucking going :D
2nd phase of this song fits the boss battle so well. As you get closer to reaching for success, it only gets harder and harder the closer you get.
Breathe in, focus. Let's bring an end to this.
The Morgan Freeman boss fight. x)
Archon95 - "you can just wait for me to die of old age" yeah thats never happening
The kick at 2:44 is my favourite, I get absolutely lost in the moment.
0:58 this part is god damn beautiful
Excellent concept.
Especially the still projectiles.
I really dig those synthetic vocals in the beginning part
I haven't even played the game and I love this piece of music. There's such a contagious pulse and rhythm to it that makes listening to it very engaging when writing action scenes in stories and stuff
ok, but can we just talk how kicks on 1:27 sound like a beginning of never gonna give you up? This old bastard even managed to rickroll all of us
It doesn't, your ears are rotten.
"Im here to make my clocks tick again." Such a badass quote.
In my opinion my favorite thing about this guy is the final phase music you would feel intense if you listened to this on headphones while fighting the guy
0:58 - 1:32
*Best Part*
David Lares 0:00 - 5:06
*Best Part*
not a single joke referring to a certain who who, proud of you guys
0:58 just gives me this nostalgic feeling, i love it
so philosophic and wisdomic atmosphere generate here
I love how much of afro samurai you can see in this game, so good
After I listened to this song for the first time, my clocks began to tick again
Playing this game in Japanese is like playing an Afro Samurai manga
Vaporwave Afro Yasuo
Something_Original Yeah, something like that xD
Larry Belenossi We need a FURI anime.
The Goals of Squad - Yeah, we need one right now!
wait, there is a japanese version? i only found english and french
The music's so good I forget to play the game and I just end up just Jammin
I love the transition at 2:13
Whole damn soundtrack makes me want to pilot a mech, and save planet earth from interstellar invaders
Wouldn't mind hearing this in a Street Fighter game. Wouldn't mind playing as Furi's protagonist in a Street Fighter game either.
heyj64 I think the protagonist is more suited to the Soul Calibur series as his primary weapon is an energy sword/blade.
Surement ma plus forte expérience de boss du jeu, et mon émotion n'aurait pu être plus grande sans cette incroyable musique. Merci infiniment aux artistes pour cet apex du JV qui m'a tant touché.
Literally listening to this all day
The music in this battle cinched the entire game for me. Fighting the line was the testing grounds for your ability for the rest of the game realizing that it was only getting harder from there and the line was NOT simple.
Wait so youre telling me going the bullet hell route WASN'T the right way to fight this man?!
My favorite boss and sountrack of the whole game, this song is such a trip
2:13 is the shit
That's my favourite part.
Why does it stop though, it sounds more like a compilation. btw I didnt play the game so I have no idea where this track is playing.
Jack Worthing It's starts at the lines last phase.
Jack Worthing All the songs are like this, because every boss has multiple phases where the music changes for how intense it is.
Itd be cool if there was a mechanic where if the fight went on long enough, he actually does die of old age
When I hear this, I feel as though I'm training to fight in a Rocky movie.
From 2:44, it sounds like the music of an X rated movie from the 80's, and it's amazing. :)
Reminds me of Tron.
+Peter Parker So, i was at least right about "the 80's" part. :D
I like to think the 2:40 bit represents the inevitability of his death, but he still accepts it with joy.
You Live under the illusion of control, abandon the fight. It is written
"A crack in the shell. But can you find it twice?"
Y'know this guy actually says some meanigful stuff while fighting him amd you just feel...like that you can do it
"Breath in, focus. Let's bring an end to this."
Seek joy in these last precious moments.
THE TIME WIZARD!!
