I agree. They took the song and made it their own. Even Clare Torry couldn’t sing it again as she did the first time (and she did say in an interview that it was the first take that made the album). Jess and Holly are awesome
i came here for a different version to gilmour's p.f. cover band jukebox....and i found it... this is brilliant...an actual new interpretation...more or less....superb
It's also worth checking out this version: th-cam.com/video/uD67i5AxGj8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0owXpnBt8nxT4-M- However, I'd highly recommend reducing the playback speed to a custom .9x. as it's recorded too quickly, but sounds great slowed down a tad.
@@harrycrabb4357 My criticism is directed at Roger who constantly seems to feel the need to re-write, re-mix or change in someway the music he and Gilmour wrote. I think Roger in some ways is a bit SPITEFUL. I don't totally disagree with the two ladies performing this song, (when I put the DVD on and run it through my very HIGH END HiFi system) it does like you say reduce one to tears, this is the emotion music can provoke in us all! I just simply don't think there's a need to paint a new Mona LIsa, or build a new Eiffel Tower....
I guess you're just going to forget David Gilmour used *three* singers for Great Gig in the Sky on the Delicate Sound of Thunder tour? Come on, stop with the stupid hypocrisy over anything Roger does. Did you want him to just playback the original vocals for the song or what? Defeats the entire point of a live performance if it's just the same old thing. No one is erasing the original studio version if that's what you want to listen to.
One of the most magical pieces of music to have ever been.
Anyone that says this isn’t good does not truly appreciate music/ vocals like this. The talent is so unreal
Go back to the studio version and try to say that again
@@artcampbell5315yep, still two talented vocalists. What's your point?
I heard them live/in concert doing this.
One of THE greatest live music pieces I ever heard. Off the friggin' charts, shivers down the spine. 👍
With you on that.@@televinv8062

I saw this live performance! amazing!
Different, but none the less brilliant...........
Best harmony singers ever.
Thank you Clare and Rick for this wonderful and emotional piece of music.
BEST VERSION SO FAR. So much smoother than the original and the other live versions.
This is one of the most beautiful things ever created.
Jess & Holly are amazing. Their band Lucius well worth checking out for anyone who enjoyed this!
I have goose bumps every time Iwatch this song ! Amazingly beautiful - one of the best ever. Thank you Ponk Floyd
I really love Roger's bass playing. He has a unique way with it. He tends to pluck a string and just let the sound run out before plucking it again. 👍
Richard Wright was a Genius
My favorite version
Me 2
Perfection
MAGNIFICENT, SPECTACULAR. WHAT A WONDERFUL VOICE .BRASIL, JOÃO MONLEVADE, MG.
Странно что так мало комментариев. Ютуб не пропускает ВЕЛИЧАЙШЕГО в мире музыканта? Эта вещь должна быть ВЕЗДЕ!!! Её красота непрезвойдённа.
The whole universe is in these two voices
Saw it live. Ever seen a grown man cry?
Rare opportunity to hear Jess and Holly separately.
Im always thinking, doubting how to use this marvelous cry to heaven on my, or my beloved funeral.
Im not afraid to die

Vi ao vivo , foi arrepiante ❤
Great! Soulful! Organic!
It's worth checking out the best live version of 'The Great Gig in the Sky' ever performed, featuring the Brazilian muse Viviane Donner.

This is a masterpiece of a twist 🎉❤ wonderful
At 4:06 goosebumps ❤❤❤
Esto es una maravilla! Merece comentario
Beautiful memories, five years ago...
Awesome!
whit girl showing the high notes makes a change awesome voices in harmony though
So called Pink Floyd's purists are so funny. Every note has to be the same as on the record.
SIMPLEMENTE EXTRAORDINARIO .... Waters no es humano
Hermosa versión

Lucius
Who is the woman singing?
It’s two women. Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig from the band Lucius
My fav version of this masterpiece is Pulse 1994. ❤
Raffaella Carrà twins
Raffaella and Concettina Carrà
☝️😎
I stay with David Gilmour version
The original version is better
Yeh, it always is but give these girls some credit!
No one asked you, Pavarotti
Two singers trying to equal ONE original voice from the 70's.... Digital will NEVER EVER better Analogic. Sorry Roger....nice try. Start again mate.😅

Sounds like a cruise ship version
Conseguiu estragar uma obra prima.
Lá vem o bolsonarista retardado
Geez Roger, you had two white women and they still couldn't carry one back woman's water
I’m assuming that you’re joking. They definitely carried the water of the original vocal performance. Not to mention that Clare Torry is Caucasian.
@@bockwalla ok. Duly noted. I still think you cant beat the original.
Can she do it live?
Clare Torry is white.......loooool
Average David Gilmour fanboyism. Doesn't even know who the person they're defending's race LMAO
Very bad
Horrible
Deaf
And what are you doing here?
These girls screwed it all up. Terrible.
Think you don't get parallel harmonization
dreadful. nice try, tho.
You are so f*cking wrong 😂😂😂 grow a pair of ears
The only this that good here is the bass playing. All of the other instruments and vocals are made of plastic.
pretty sure theyre made of wood, metal and flesh.
ok boomer
What are you talking about?? This is a masterpiece. Clearly you don't know anything about having good taste in music.
