Thank you for posting these awesome videos! Wish You Were Here was always my favorite Floyd song. The band's solos were unmatched in these tours. I loved Jon, Scott, Guy, Gary, and Tim too. Although it's hard to ignore Rachel I also love the McBroom sisters. In fact, this is my favorite lineup of backing singers. There didn't seem to be any competition between them about who was "the best," and no jealousy of Rachel in any interviews I've seen recently.

Yeah, you're certainly right, she was sick that night and that was known long time after. I recommend you to give a check to her performance in Basel 1988, it's one of the last video I've added and it's an audience capture but it's very enjoyable. Cheers and happy new year!
At 1:40 unfortunately Rachel's voice breaks and I believe it was because she had the flu at the time. To hear her at her best you need to listen to the Delicate Sound of Thunder version. Still no disputing she had an incredible voice and had previously sang this section of the song better than the original by Clare Tory...... in my opinion.
Me personally enjoy and love each one of them and their specific times with the band, I don't see the point of start with comparisons when this is art not a sport or race. Cheers everyone.

I'm so fed up of hearing arguments about the best this or the best that , the greatest this , etc when it's all just personal opinion , likes and dislikes , all valid of course but there is simply no such thing as best of . Comparisons never make sense, even more when you compare a studio recording with a live performance; also keep in mind that this night Rachel performed being sick with flu with fever and throat pain. It's better to enjoy that compare.

Also don’t forget how far music technology has come (just like everything else) since they recorded the “Gig” all those years ago. And if my memory is correct Clare went in the studio without a clue as to what was wanted and knocked it out in something like twenty or thirty minutes and made about 200.00.
