    This should be the official “PHP intro tutorial”. Do you accept captions / translations for another language? Would be very nice for beginners around the world.

    This is a mighty useful video. If I would be just starting learning PHP today, this video would sure get me excited for what the future holds. Makes me wish there was content like this when I was getting my feet wet in PHP waters many years ago. It's really comprehensive and well-packed.
    By the way, Mohamed, great to see you finding your comfortable pace of speech! I saw some unfair criticism on your English some time ago in the comments of your Laracasts series about Queues, and you were perfectly fine back then, but today, you're switching levels, my man. Great job, great discipline and consistency. You're a true scholar, much props to you!

      Glad you like the video and happy you find my accent easy to understand. I'm working on it :D It's just that I was taught English in school by teachers who were very bad at English :D Hard to unlearn.

      @@themsaid As I already said, you're really easy to understand, and with this pacing it's even better. As a non-native speaker to a non-native speaker, also from different, non-Romance language group (I'm Russian). I studied French in school for 7 years, but ended up learning English on my own. The difference between the "academic" approach and the actual handling of the language in real life is mind-boggling. There's literally nothing better than reading a lot of fiction in English, listening to podcasts in various niches daily, and practicing talking with the native speakers. You get plenty of opportunities with all of this, so keep up the great work, and, most importantly, have fun with it. You're making leaps, I can tell you that.

    Even after four years of PHP development I can't stand single quotes for strings. Having to escape every "special" character is, at least for me, not the definition of a "string". To this day I don't understand why someone would choose single quotes over double quotes, especially in spoken language that has a lot of single quotes in words like "don't", "can't", "I'd", "'We'll". Having to escape them is just cumbersome and unnecessary. But these are my two cents :D

    • @mikeziri
      @mikeziri 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      in PHP and JS, you end up interacting a lot with HTML code that has dom elements with attributes in double quotes. Hey
      so it became standard.
      also, we're lazy and single quotes don't a second key (shift)

      PHP is not dead 🤣... Just many people do not realize this. Funny Enough, I just build a PHP framework that merges offline and online development in a way that your offline project can be transferred online easily without editing anything. It has inbuilt live server, debugging system and database handlers. I will be rolling it out soon. Those who know core php knows better. PHP is just laughing at them.
