    Great video brother. Just had a buddy's new install get destroyed because his "installer" set his gains way off and was clipping all he time. That with zero break in time on everything and $5,000 went out the window in a week.

    dj russticals is rebassing on a -6.5db tone on these newer tracks he is making and they hit so nice 💥 I think that's his sweet spot for his edits. -5db is the sweet spot for sure on my setup when I'm tuning .

    So when I’m setting the gain on my amp, how do I set the head unit? Loudness on/off i usually run it on low. Do I set it the way I’d run it? Thanks for all your great videos

    This is so confusing I'm new to this stuff. I'm running a kicker 400.1 amp and it's stable at 1ohm so it says on the sheet to get 1ohm 400w set my gain at 20.00v which I did with a multi meter did I do that right

  • @jesxsssss

    I set my mids and highs with 1khz -10 and my sub with 40hz -15 since I do only listen to Apple Music and pandora.

  • @daniellewis6231
    @daniellewis6231 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    What would be better, -5 or -10 db for pandora from a galaxy s22 thru bluetooth? For music that doesnt hit hard tuned at -5 for artists like dualipa maneskin and others the bass just isnt there compared to 50 shot beats and hard bass songs from pandora

    • @majorplasencia4946
      @majorplasencia4946 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Possibly check your output settings in the pandora app itself. I don't use it myself but Spotify has a quiet normal and loud setting for listening level... good luck to you.

    So when setting gain with a test tone, how do you know if the track was recorded at -5db?

    • @JerryAintloud
      @JerryAintloud  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      most tones are labled like 40hz 0db or 40hz -5db

  • @robertjackson19965

    So if I set my mids and highs at -5 and play a 0 db track I’m going to be clipping , correct ?
    And if so should I cut output gain on my mids and high channels -5 more db to match with the track that’s playing?

  • @brutalbasspro

    Got a question about bass knobs. First off my buddy at KnobKoncepts, guys go check him out, he built me a nice azz bass knob. But my question is.... do you turn the bass boost all the way up on your amps then control the bass with your bass knob ? 2nd question how do you go about setting your gains ? You probably have already done a video on these but it's possible I missed them. Thanks a lot for all your info it is very helpful !! And hope to see you at the sundown audio show !!!

    • @RandoManFPV
      @RandoManFPV 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Everyone I've ever heard said don't touch the bassboost on amps.
      This part I may or may not be remembering correctly: the bassboost knob or switch only boosts very specific frequencies (like a single knob on a eq or dsp) the problem is, 90% of the time you don't know what frequency it's boosting, or you don't know how much your boosting it by.
      I believe you should only mess with your bassboost knob when using oscilloscope or high end measuring devices to truly dial in your adjustments where you want them

    • @RandoManFPV
      @RandoManFPV 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      But I have like no experience. I just read and watch all day

    • @brutalbasspro
      @brutalbasspro ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Crank your bass knob all the way loud. Set your gains with it full up so ot won't go past your safe db setting.

    • @MrPsiclone666
      @MrPsiclone666 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RandoManFPV agree with marcus on this. turn the bass nob all the way up to set gain so when you play music you wont push the sub beyond your settings. we may be wrong on this but you should'nt clip your sub when you do turn that bass nob to max

    • @RandoManFPV
      @RandoManFPV ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrPsiclone666 neither you or Markus addressed his question about the BASSBOOST (switch or knob).
      I stand by my advice; don't touch your bassboost/leave it off.
      You and Markus are both correct about how to set gains when using a bassknob but I don't think yall seen the part where he asked what to do with his bass boost

    If u can play low slam this rebass.. -8 dB Rms 24 Hz - 40 Hz th-cam.com/video/OyWZpGWcBEA/w-d-xo.html
    ⚠️ There is no HPF on this rebass. The song has audio has content as low as 10 Hz.
    If you have a subsonic set on your amplifier you will be missing some of the lows unless it’s set at 20Hz or below or turned off. I have another version w/ @ 10 Hz HPF if anyone prefers.

    I wouldn't recommend setting the gain with negative test tones for new builders...coze the music they will listen to, will all be recorded at 0 db and that plus 5 over load will kill the system ask me how i know 😅
