    Hell yeah, just keep doing you. Your videos have helped tons of people. Even stupid guys like me, you explain it so I can understand. Thanks to you I’ve got the loudest 10s, in my little circle of friends. Everyone says they sound like 12s. Every time you have a tip or suggestions I go and play with my system. Just got to say pretty much everything has helped me. If you don’t know you don’t know. But you got to be careful about who you listen to. I’m gonna stick with you. No bull sh1t

    I disconnect the sub, turn off the filter, hook up a dmm to the disconnected speaker wires at the sub then play a sine wave test tone half an octave below my ported enclosure's tuning frequency. I take note of the AC voltage. I multiply that voltage by .708 to get my 3db down target voltage. I begin turning on the subsonic filter until the voltage starts to go down and stop turning once I arrive at my target voltage. I'm new to car audio, I tried this out and it seems to work for me so far.

    A subsonic and LPF are not a instant cut off point it all depends on the db slope for the crossover.. some may have a 18 db or 24db and 12db cross over and how steep the roll off is so your subs will play higher then lpf setting it just gets quieter as it gets farther away

  • @JretnuH
    @JretnuH 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    You should make a video on how slope works on your headunit when it goes from -12 to -24

    I always done and was told to set subsonic to 10hz below port tuning. Or until you lose cone control. I never had a problem doin it that way. So if my tuning was 30hz I set to 20hz to start and go down from there. What you think??

    I love car audio and learning but its also super frustrating because everyone has their own opinion and they think that makes it fact and it doesn't. Every system is different so what one person says doesn't apply to the next

    They normally use bass boost on a sealed enclosure? Now remember the old school amplifiers didn't have a bass boost frequency just treble and bass and gain?

    Subsonic filters start limiting output a little before rated/stated. I tested my crescendo bc series amp., and all the way down says 10Hz, like jerry said his amp does in this video. Even though it says 10 Hz with the dial turned off/all the way down, it was starting to limit output @ 14 Hz a little, 13 Hz was noticeably more limiting on power. Also, i like setting the subsonic, by using an SPL meter. Example: turn up a 150 Db capable system, to around 130 Db (set SPL meter to real time = not peak), using a constant test tone, @ 0 to 10 Hz below enclosures tune, set to repeat, then just watch the SPL meter, as you slowly turn the freq. up on the subsonic dial, until you reduce the SPL output 1 to 3 Db, so the meter is showing 127 to 129 Db, from 130 Db, @ 0 to 10 Hz below tune of your enclosure. If you want to be the safest on these settings, i suggest -3 Db of output @ your enclosure tunning= for high/over rated, powered systems. If you are running say half rated power to your subwoofers, maybe set subsonic, -1 Db, @ 10 Hz below tunning. Hope this helps? Have a great day, fellow bass heads!

Is rockford fosgates way of makeing.. but the specs is a rating (tho as for what they know physics says its to be then they make it) so its enginered phenomonaly id say tho i deff hit lower the 28 bro i built a box for my 4 p3s and i neevverrr thought id see my p3s exurt as much as they have!!! I suggest diff box or if u have a 28hrtz tuned box the tune is off unlessss lmao ur talking of models under the p3 then i couldnt say anything as i really diss like them... p3 and up is true punch. Tho people have made p1s hit killer and as well i have never made a box for p1s.. so it very well could be up there with p3. But ive owned my p3s ever since 18 im now 27 and ive never seen any of my friends systems out perform mine in the low end/ spl /loudness. P3s and up be phenominal

    And do ur subs even makee 10 hrtz in specs? Ino my buddy has a svs thats said to be i think it was 17 hrtz it made 16 anything else lower it just start tto chuff i think it was. But it definatly did work to its speakers specs./ responded in ways witch physics proves with waves, of course dependent the ohms and voltage and other properties. But i have seen that in physics to power it is dropping it. To make any headroom. A amp is built to push power tho theres nuthing but waves and to it its math so it has to show zeroes sumwer. So im sortta tryn to say sure it can be in a signal but how much tho triple that, double it, qaud it, keep going to all the power u have it is to be down, so it needs more then we think or id say one narrow ass output mad peak or vice versa dependent on ohms/ have to put the qaulity factor in too/ sentivities preamp stage.. everything .. inorder to push the power to there dependent ur ohms ur power nd again everything above Nd box and place ments losses as well. physics proves it and physics made it.. made everything.. but im saying all this as to im prety sure physics would truly show u how to hit the 10 herts i mean .. 40 hrtz convulted to the 11th power is levitation/force. So with thinking about that^ i would say u need quite a bit more power or the crossovers are not working with as well the bass knob

    • @TheSpazzattack95
      @TheSpazzattack95 ปีที่แล้ว

      And i say bas knob becauuseee a potentiometer is controll tho dont qoute me on it look up audio control with potentiometers! As for its all power but within crossovers and raised or droped within powers so i feel its not enough power and or if the sub is not rated well then its gunna blow before so i would think. And im not saying anything to undermine anyone or to say no or anything tho i am saying what i truly know as i maybe building a killer bass knob here but yee theres much more then we think to a potentiometer expeciallyyy!! If its say any made ones wer ur seing ppl in the reviews saying "my pod makes full power at half and but quieter at full/ many more diferent times of power/ characteristics as its basiiccally a nother crossover.. its all crosses in its mind so how much power is there really there? Nd i mean in physics wise as for it could very well be u do need more power as for "We do have to drop inorder, to make a degree of anything/ from start , from anything, to anything but sooo much more. And im not familliar with some terms/words so my explanation may be off but i for sure know exactly what im meaning and in time im going to be proving these facts and soo much more to the truth to it all as most only know what the truee toold is telling them but do we really!.. know physics?

    • @TheSpazzattack95
      @TheSpazzattack95 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JerryAintloud ohh kk i get wat u sayin nd i know u do ahaha just i meaning in power through physics u have to get to a power to make a power, but im not meaning u dont u very well could tho. But thinkin bout how much it takes to cycle sumthing u can up it over the case. So im rlly meaning like poossible chance u havent hit that power as in "still posssibly need more power, to make that power but not only make as well to phase that power over through time but thats lots of power if its down so it has to have evenn morree power, and be able to takee that power the subs.
