    Professor MB!!! Man I have learned more watching your channel in the past 4 months than i have learned in my past 20 years of trial and error. We appreciate your intelligence and knowledge in the community bro. Please keep dropping gems.

    I am so glad I found this channel, I have learned so much. I know this is a older video but Thank You MBEnclosures for taking the time to explain things such as the T/S Parameters, and using two different subs to help prove that the way a sub looks doesn't necessarily mean one thing or an other. That goes for most of your videos, how you explain things makes it a lot easier and fun to learn and remember.

  • @marckendrick3163
    @marckendrick3163 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Too funny. I was just looking at the ID 8" or 10" for my build. Had others in mind that had more bulk, surround and higher $. I wanted accurate, sq with some lows. Just reading the parameters I was like "the ID is perfect for me!" You just confirmed that 1000%. MBE Guru! 50/50 on sealed v 4th order just have to get the cabin specs. 92 full size blazer K1500. Wanted lower power, better output and accurate base. Either 3 or 4.
    Greatly appreciate the knowledge you openly share. You are TH-cam's greatest by 100 mile!👍

    Preach!!!! GREAT video, Sir!!! Another one of those dealio's Imma have to watch again for sure hittin' pause so I can take notes! See this is how I have erased what I thought I knew, and have been relearning especially for what I have in plan for my very near future! To be known in the near future! You explain it very simply in a manner in which is comprehensive to both the new guy and seasoned veteran! I will have to bookmark this to come back to to jot down some key points you made in reference to the balances of the soft parts and the M/F and so on. I just happen to come across your video I watched earlier and said yep time to watch a few of these!!! All Respect!!!! Oh, skinny guy is EXO, he has come so far in this industry. I have seen most all of his videos, boy good! And he has approaches that are also simple and to the point without sounding like a cocky know it all that knocks others or products, etc.

    Good video. Cerwin Vega used to have some of the highest efficiency woofers due to their tight gap and light cone assembly. Maybe they are still that way. The only trouble is that with a tighter gap, they are more prone to damage due to slight misalignments. There is a tradeoff with air velocity across the coils too with different gaps and different venting techniques. The windings design are also important in regards to wire gauge and number of windings to determine magnetic force and mass. The speaker engineers have to balance a lot of factors to get a product that sounds good and usable in reasonable sized enclosures.

    Videos are awesome keep them up. Could you do a video on ports and how you decided port size for an enclosure? How does port area effects the way a driver plays and sounds in a enclosure. I’ve noticed you use big ports in your tuned boxes when looking at box tuning software it differs on what’s recommended on paper to what you use and results from your experience. Thank you and keep up the awesome content!

      The thing I like about him is he doesn’t favor the big names, and backs what he talks about with facts! It s good to see someone give 8’s the shine that they deserve, instead of always pushing for 15’s and saying 8’s are crap! You see it with too many audio channels on TH-cam. You can build a pretty good system with 8’s that pound.

    Hello. How are you? Can I call you Professor MBE? No pun intended. You are an excellent teacher of car stereo. I have been a “shallow” enthusiast of car stereo since the late 80s and still have not learned a bit of what you know about this in-depth game as you do. I have run through a lot of hardware. But I feel now that I have finally heard and seen “car stereo” theory in simplification and example from your content. Now I can try to give it yet another shot based on your clarified videos. Although I have to watch videos like this one several times before I catch it, I will commend you on your highly inspiring content. That’s why I call you the “Professor”. You just need a chalk board behind you and I can really get the just of what you are explaining in one dimension. I have seen deeper content when it comes to car audio but not as simplified. Please continue to break the game down. You do fine work on your enclosures as well. I think you have changed the game. Peace.

I’ll be one of your subscribers that will need to watch this video multiple times. I do feel like I learned a lot from this video. Am I correct in saying that not one parameter tells the story, you have to look at multiple parameters and the trade offs to get what the sub has to offer? Ty

I think... somehow somethings backwards cause the other info i found was the opposite, im just trying to learn about it all...

  • @trev6783
    @trev6783 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think you are backwards on your qts rating.. Lower is better for ported because it has a stiffer suspension and higher qts means it has a weaker suspension, needing the sealed box air suspension to prevent over excursion. I think it's like .4 or less for ported, .4-.7 for either, .7+ sealed. Also a 4th order is a ported box.. I think what you meant was a 4th order bandpass, which does work good with higher qts ratings.

    Good vids. But… the bl doesn’t mean quite what you say. There’s more to it than just comparing bl to bl. It’s based on impedance. So it would be BLxBL devided by re. That would give you actual motor force. You are correct about motor size not being what determines which is better. So look up the re and redo the math. Might surprise you.
