Sister Aburto Reaches Out to Navajo Latter-day Saints in the American Southwest

- Sister Reyna I. Aburto, second counselor of the Relief Society general presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, made a historic visit to the American Southwest, November 8-11, 2018, to minister to members on the Navajo reservation.

I believe the Navajo people have a big role to play in the last days. Probably why this place is so special and spiritual. One day I’ll get to know more about my Navajo brothers and sisters and it will be a real honor!
Jay Brons probably more than I understand of course but after reading several stories (1 being Spencer’s book called Visions of Glory and Julie Rowe’s books too) I’ve really dug into more scriptures and doctrine and prayer. I knew some of the things I was reading about was heavy but really cool if true so I attended the temple several times and again lots of humble prayers I’ve come to find these accounts are true and transition is coming. To many answers to my prayers and research to question otherwise. Anyway back to their role. they once have been kicked off their land. One day the tables will turn as we seek their help after much tribulations on our land and we get kicked off. And also will give them an opportunity to forgive us as well. When the Savior comes or right before as we build the new Jerusalem temple in Missouri I believe that time they play more of a role but this is becoming new to me still so please take this to our Heavenly Father or even with a grain of salt. However these people are spiritual and I think there’s reasons for it. I’m excited to learn more from them and talk to them one day.
Jay Brons thanks I really appreciate your kindness. I’ve read the BOM several times and believe that it’s true. I don’t believe cause my parents or anyone else told me so, I believe because I searched and prayed about it. I do believe they have a connection yes. But I’d like to read more and keep learning cause I still have much to learn myself. Thank you for being so respectful of my beliefs. It’s people like you who make this world a better place. My husband is not a member either but is so respectful. It’s nice when we can all share different beliefs and cultures. He’s from India :)
Jay Brons I’m sorry you felt so hurt. But ya know what I think, as long as we stick close to the Savior and have that real personal relationship with him, we will be ok. We will all be ok in the end. As long as we love one another and take care of others that’s the key. It’s a crazy journey we are on sometimes isn’t it Jay?!! But yes let’s keep learning and growing because it’s exciting!! May Father bless you Jay, really I mean that.

Prophecy is being fulfilled
They still believe that Book of Mormon characters are their ancestors? What about the DNA results?
I still believe that Native Americans are a very special people. But they are not Hebrew, as we once thought.
The idea that native Americans are Lamanites is wrong. The Book of Mormon robs them of their real heritage and the native Americans ancestry has nothing to do with the people in the book of mormon.
