Sorry, made a mistake. Not Uncle Bo's. Uncle's Fishmarket. Lack of sleep from no days off. And I renamed her Maureen on purpose. I think it rolls off the tongue better...
Wow! This "auntie" had a lot to say to you. Don't sell yourself short. Your subs really love your content. I really appreciate your transparency about paying for everything you review. Others just review a place and don't say they got the food free, so you never know if their reviews are legit since everything seems to always taste delish. Exception has been Charles who tells us he only films places he has tried before and likes.
Thank you Carol! My method is I make a small amount and it goes to the next restaurant I go to. So it's a never ending cycle of paying it forward to businesses that work hard. I don't expect anything for free from anyone even if I didn't do TH-cam. If you expect things for free in life then you weren't taught the right values. It is hard work for these businesses that don't make a decent profit for the ingredients they pay for and the work that goes into it. I'm glad you see that.

Aloha Misty!! First and foremost 👏🏽👏🏽 regarding Auntie Maureen!! Some people have nothing better to do than be so negative. We appreciate you and so do so so many others and that’s all that matters!! Butter chicken and palak paneer with basmati rice is definitely something I (Michelle) ate a lot in high school at friend’s homes and loved it. This spot looks tasty especially with the saucy dishes!! Pretty sure we have no space on the list this trip so hoping we can have it on another. Mahalo as always for another delicious adventure!! P.S. loved the Maureen song!!😂
Aloha Michelle & Jose! Yeah there's a bunch of miserable people that probably wonder why they're never invited to parties. 😂 I'm glad you also enjoy Indian food too! It is so good! You probably have such an array of cultural cuisines in Texas, so I understand that your list is big and will stick to the local stuff. I mean you flew this far away for it! LOL. Enjoy your vacation!
As always, it is so good to hear your honest opinions of the dishes. We have been here for 12 days so far and have another 9 weeks to go before returning to Australia. Since finding your foodie TH-cam site several months ago, I made a list of the places you had mentioned and we have already tried several of them. This will be another place to visit as the dishes looked delicious. Thank you again, Misty.
Aloha Annie! I am glad you are trying some of the places out. I hope you found them tasty. Thank you for watching and wow what a long vacation! Please enjoy and be safe for the rest of the 9 weeks! 🤙
Nice video! Now i’m craving curry! That garlic naan looks great. Whenever I have Indian curries or similar food, I’m always torn between having the garlic naan or the basmati rice - I love them both for pouring the curry on to.
Misty, we have been to Lasoon, not once, but twice now. On our first visit, we both had the small plate and had butter chicken as our main. It was absolutely delicious. We managed half our meal and the remaining we had for dinner. Today, I still ordered my butter chicken and hubby decided he would try the spicy fish curry. OMG, I took one small mouthful and decided that was my limit. Hubby's eyes and nose was watering throughout his meal and he purchased the mango lassi which helped him devour half his dish. Once again, leftovers we saved for another day. I mentioned to them that we had seen your food blog and wanted to try it.
Annie, that is so wonderful to hear besides the hot and spicy fish. I'm sorry it was too spicy for you. I heard the eggplant is super spicy as well. I'm glad you loved the butter chicken and that it made two meals. Wow you guys went twice! Thank you for letting them know that you watched the video. 🤙😊
To the Auntie More Mean Maureen, "thanks for your dimes" ...then the song acapella 🤣🤣👏! Lame but kinda funny those kinds of people, i wonder if they heard your paneer descrip 😂. Lasoon was my 1st taste of Indian food. Got the butter chicken with basmati, palak paneer and garlic naan. I told the server that it was my 1st time and I loved everything. He gave me samples of the lamb and chicken curries. The meat in those dishes were too tough for my liking. The naan was chewier than expected but still enjoyed. I'll def go back for the butter chicken, palak paneer and naan. Maybe even a mango lassi. What a sweet serenade for Maureen! haha...
Wow that's so nice of him to give you samples! I don't like lamb so I didn't get it. My favorite place so far is Maharani Cafe. You should try it out! They actually have a tandoor and make the chicken and naan in it! They don't take reservations though so you have to go 15 mins early to get a seat. There's already a line before they open. But I'd definitely come back again here for the convenience and the taste was great for fast food!

Aloha Misty: I am so happy that there are so many choices for Indian cuisine on Oahu. I still remember the days when there was only one restaurant across from the Ilikai Hotel. The food you presented in your vlog looks excellent and yummy! Try making your fried rice using basmati rice; it is fluffy and not starchy. The Naan bread must have paired well with the fish and chicken. I hope Aiden got to enjoy this culinary delight and “flavor-bomb!” I am sorry that someone had to “cause-issues” to you and your great work - nice song that you composed and sang 😀! I don't really eat rice at home for health reasons. But I bet it would make a great fried rice! Have a wonderful weekend! 🤙😊
@@FoodFiend Aloha Misty: Thank you for the information of the first Indian cuisine restaurant in Honolulu. I still remember how highly rated the restaurant was. Probably just a troll but love how you handled it. Had me cracking up. 😆 K I know what I'm eating this weekend and at least I have access to it this time. My mouth is watering. Also, one thing about your videos is just that its so local. I could hear the pigeon or maybe its a dove in the background. Totally reminded me of a nice, chill, sunny afternoon Hawai'i style. ❤
Oh my Misty foods look delicious love naan’s next time when I'm in Hawaii going to try it. Yes we’re in Saigon enjoying the foods, weather not bad, rain in the evening so it's cool off. Thank you for sharing your delicious video. Peace.
Best intro outro ever. I even waited until tonight to like and comment hoping to see aunteh in the comments. Food looks way better in the video than insta. Although i wanted to go there after the insta pic. Might be going this weekend.
We have Lassoon at UH but with a small menu. I had the the butter chicken and curry chicken. Sometimes, I get the roti or samosas. The mango lassi is good too. There was another drink that good too. Just can't remember the name. I enjoy watching your reviews. I already went to fratelli twice.
Marleen is definitely not kamaaina. Just ignore him/her. On the bright side, we love watching your videos. I love the variety of food from HI that you give us. There used to be one of the best Northern Indian, I remember was Kashmiri style on Lewers in Waikiki, called Shalimar. This was in the early 80s when I attended UH. The best Indian Kashmiri food. I think they closed though. Sure brings back nostalgic memories.
I date back to Pearlridge Mauka and Makai...you know, when Liberty House, Penny's and Farrell's were still there! Remember Penny's gas station? Then it turned into a drive in liquor store before Pali Momi took it over.
Oh wow I don't remember any of that because I'm from Kalihi and back then, going past Mapunapuna was "too far." 🤣 So I never went to Pearlridge back in the day. I only know it as downtown and uptown. I do remember Farrell's but only in Ala Moana.
1.) Indian food in a relatively accessible location like Pearlridge. Awww yeah, shoots! 2.)Timestamp: 4:14 Be still my heart, a woman who can dish out da kine trolls back what they like eat: a serving of two scoops tita. Yeah boyee! 🤙🤘🤜🤛3) Thank you for modeling a way to stand up to harassment/trolling while maintaining your dignity...in fine local style.
Mahalo Golgibaby! Yes never let unsavory people step on you. I have fun with it and give back and then carry on my merry way. I hope you try the food out. It's so tasty and convenient! 🤙
Had plenty of Nepalese food. My friend I used to work with years ago would cook for me. She told me the traditional Chinese architecture we all see was actually a design a Napalese architect. I forget which Chinese emperor she who it was that hired him (I forget his name too). I prefer Southern Indian food, but way up north where the Ganges river starts would be an interesting place to visit based on what I have seen. Plus Nepal. I would like to visit.
Wow that is an interesting factoid I did not know! Thanks for the info! I'd love to go to Varanasi and Nepal as well. Not a fan of Southern Indian food and dosas. Maybe since I already don't like soughdough or fermented things is why I don't like it. Or maybe I need to find a new dish on the menu that I'd like.
@@FoodFiend Varanasi? I was in yogaykarta Indonesian many years ago. I was in the park where Prambanan is located. There is a temple there with a bodi tree. This bodi tree was somehow related to the very bodi tree that sidharta guatama (buddha) gained his enlightnement. I think that Bodhi Tree is in a park around Varanasi.
@@FoodFiend oh the cremation by the ganges river on the ghats. I saw videos where partially burned bodies floating by boats. I read wood is very expensive and poor families cannot buy enough somethimes for a complete cremation. So they throw what's left in the river. And they bath and drink the same water.
😅Enjoyed your review. I had no idea there was an Indian restaurant in the mall. Gotta try um. We tried Tadka after watching your video review and it really delivered. I think I may have to adjust my expectations though, since it appears that this basically Indian fast-food (if there even is such a thing).
I'm so glad you went to Tadka! I think this place is amazing for Indian fast food. I think you'd be very surprised. 😊 My most favorite Indian food on Oahu is still Cafe Maharani though.
I remember back in the day was phase 1 and phase 2 😂 can tell I’m really old. Great review…I enjoy the food when I went there 🤙🏻… girl u made it when you got those trolls 😉 have a good evening
I haven't eaten there in ages but I would think it is similar. I like the convenience of the fast takeout here though. The owners are Nepalese so I'm not sure if there is a slight difference in the style of cooking. I do like their sides better here though.
Man, this “Auntie Maureen” must sure be something to make you go off like this! I’ll have to look at some of your older videos and see what she says. I applaud your ethics about the free food - no favoritism, for sure! Whee! Another new food to try! >^.^
I have some trolls and some people that ask questions that are ridiculous. I answered her question twice about payments and also kindly told her that it's OK that she doesn't like my videos and that I hope she finds a channel suitable for her. But it's the same comment over and over. So irraz. The next comment from her I'll be blocking her. So the comments may disappear. They're in the manapua one, Max and Lucy's and some others. 🤣 mento...
@@FoodFiend Maybe she’s lonely, and she knows what questions will push your buttons and get you to give her some attention? I don’t blame you, nobody likes to read unpleasant comments and be accused of things. You have many others who enjoy and appreciate your videos (me, too, okay?).
@@FoodFiend No. I haven’t had any on Oahu but my parents would always befriend East Indians at UH back in the day. Saffron rice & chicken tandoori HITS!
Hahahha ! You called out that person in the first 10 mins. I thought it was kinda obvious when people get free food cause there’s about 5++ posts of the same thing at the same time and it’s always the same ppl 😂
Lol. I don't care who gets free food but I'm not like that. Anyway what was irraz is she kept asking me and I kept answering. And then she kept asking the same question over and over even though I told her the answer. Donkey.
: ) THANKS MUCH and LOVE the Combo you got, different, but I do like the Indian food, especially curry, but sometimes too hot : ) ENJOY and Yummmmmm! ALL the BEST and enjoy your weekend if yo can : ) Cheers ! !
Oh, Misty...you had us cracking up laughing! Dat Maureen, big pilikia! That sounded like a "mild" lashing auntie Maureen got. Let's hope she got the message. No mess with our Misty, auntie Maureen, cause we got her back!
I saw Lasoon and wanted to try it but not for a while now. Just came back from an African Safari where we stayed in different tents and hotels owned by the Serena Corporation (a brand name like Hilton, Sheraton, etc.). Serena is Indian owned. Soo...Indian food every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The first few days was great. By the end, I just stopped eating. And Africa (Kenya and Tanzania anyway) does NOT have American places like McDonalds, so no options.
Wow you're traveling all over! How was the Safari? Must be a great experience but long flight. I totally understand. After 2 weeks in Thailand I just wanted a steak and couldn't find a place that makes it the way we eat it in the US.
@@FoodFiend LOL! I hear you! After 3 days in Thailand, we had a "free" night at an open market. I went to McDonalds for a 1/4 pounder and fries, and I rarely to to McD's here! Anyway, it's 10.5 hours nonstop from HNL to NY, then 15 hours nonstop to Nairobi. We stayed over 1 night in NY and 1 night coming back in case the flight was late and cannot catch the connector. But seriously, Misty, if your son likes animals, this is a MUST trip at his age. It's like a reverse zoo where you ride in an open top SUV, and the animals are roaming around you. Grassland, trees and rocks as far as the eye can see; NO man-made anything. A couple of "hotels" are actually large tents, but fabulously appointed.. GLAMPING! Not gonna lie, it's expensive, $10,000/person, PLUS you have to get to and from NY on your own. All meals, rooms and flights in Africa included. But if you have airline miles for an airline that goes to NY, that helps. We flew on HAL "free" with miles.

Mahalo! Yes I know but I like to have a little fun with them before they get blocked. 🤣 I'd never bad mouth a restaurant unless it was very terrible. I think I've only gave my brutal honest opinion on 2. Most eateries here are all good anyway so we are blessed to have good foods here. 🤙
First for me Indian cuisine, never tried it always assumed it was a all curry style, the non? looked good especially the garlc flavor . But please could do without the "baby poop" reference, mahalo😊
One day you should try it. It's really great food. Although there are many different regional cuisines in India since it has many states. I prefer Northern Indian food. 🤙
@@taniner it was secure for me. It looked messy because I accidentally hit the bag on my car seat when I drove to the park. But nothing came out of the container. 👍 you can reuse it!
Even if i were offered merchandise/services to review, for free.. would have to be Really careful as to "Why" product/service was being offered? Do they want an Honest review(pro's & con's) or are they looking for a smoke-screen sham-a-lang-a-ding-dong review? Coz eye Don't Brown Nose!-lol
Pretty much. There is usually an ulterior motive. I've had lots of emails from Temu, some exercise bike blah blah asking for ads in my videos and I'd get a free bike or whatever and I'll always say NO.

@FoodFiend you're a regular rock star🤣
Yes we do🥺🤙🐾
Feisty Misty....I loooove it!!!!
😊🤙
Yet, again… 🤤Broke da mouth emoji‼️
And noted: Don’t piss off Misty.
😁
😹 I'm really nice I swear. But I definitely don't take sh!t from anyone.

@tealorturquoise happy you got a laugh 🤣 hope you enjoy the food! Yes that's all those grey doves in the background. 😊
Oh my Misty foods look delicious love naan’s next time when I'm in Hawaii going to try it. Yes we’re in Saigon enjoying the foods, weather not bad, rain in the evening so it's cool off. Thank you for sharing your delicious video. Peace.
Your vacation in Saigon sounds lovely Thuan! Nice to hear it cools off in the evening. Have some kem and chè for me!
@@FoodFiend Of course Misty I love Che not much of Kem. But I have to limit my sweet too.
Best intro outro ever. I even waited until tonight to like and comment hoping to see aunteh in the comments.
Food looks way better in the video than insta. Although i wanted to go there after the insta pic. Might be going this weekend.
🤣 she kinda slow. Probably will comment next week 🤣 Let me know if you like it if you go.
Oh Missy...I like the way you handled this.... you are doing great!
Mahalo Debbie! 🤙
I enjoy your videos, so please don't stop.
Mahalo for watching Gail! I'll try to go as long as I can. 🤙
Wow that's awesome that there's a Lasoon at UH! So lucky. Thanks for watching and I'm glad you like Fratelli.
Keep on Truckin' and keep on smiling, Misty. As always, Tanks, eh!
Thanks Ken! Have a great weekend! 🤙
Lmfao you got me in tears
@tevyetev lol I forgot to put that I purposely put Maureen instead of Marleen just to irritate her. 😹 waiting for her comment and I'll pin it. 📌
That plate got me hungry for sure. How much?
$17.95 for a 2 choice plate. Comes with rice and 2 choices of veg. It's cheaper for 1 choice and 1 veg with rice.
Oh wow never heard of it or tried Shalimar. Sounds great. Too bad it's gone. Mahalo! 🤙
@miketuggle9273 wow how interesting. The burning bodies and weird ritual shamen freak me out though. 🤣
@@FoodFiend oh the cremation by the ganges river on the ghats. I saw videos where partially burned bodies floating by boats. I read wood is very expensive and poor families cannot buy enough somethimes for a complete cremation. So they throw what's left in the river. And they bath and drink the same water.
Lmao this made my day "aunteh stop being a stink Tuna" love the clap back..keep them videos coming always enjoy your videos sis!
I'm glad it made your day and have you a laugh! Have a great weekend sis!
I love indian food!! 😋😋😋😋
Yay! Me too!
I remember back in the day was phase 1 and phase 2 😂 can tell I’m really old. Great review…I enjoy the food when I went there 🤙🏻… girl u made it when you got those trolls 😉 have a good evening
Aloha KristieLani! I saw your video on Lasoon too. Glad you enjoyed it as well. Keep eating and making videos. You're doing a great job. 👍
Do they have mini?
Sorry. I should have waited until the end. I will give this a try.
No worries. Yes they have one choice meat and one choice vegetable with rice as their mini. 🤙
How's this compare to Himalayan Kitchen?
I haven't eaten there in ages but I would think it is similar. I like the convenience of the fast takeout here though. The owners are Nepalese so I'm not sure if there is a slight difference in the style of cooking. I do like their sides better here though.
Loved your outro Misty 🤣🤣🤣
🤣 thanks glad you liked it.
😂👍🏽auntie Maurine!🤣 😂
That crack us up! We love your videos Misty😁 you always have a fair opinion and an honest review , I like you, being you👍🏽😊
Thanks so much Patches! I'm glad you guys cracked up. It's my sarcastic humor. 😊
😂😂😂. You go girl. Pay Auntie Marleen no mind. She lolo. Stank tuna. 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🐟 glad you got laughs out of it.
@jikotakuhaibin no worries that's why she got the attention she wanted 🤣 and after that all pau. Mahalo for your support. 🤙
Yeah, people are unreal nowadays! Block that stank tuna!
I ❤ East Indian foods! My ultimate favorite is Chicken Tandoori with Nann bread 🥖 YUM! 😋
Yay chicken tandoori is so good. Have you tried the chicken tandoori wings at Cafe Maharani? 🤌
Aloha Marty! Yes a little different but it was wonderful. I'm happy to hear you also enjoy Indian cuisine! Have a wonderful weekend!
Oh, Misty...you had us cracking up laughing! Dat Maureen, big pilikia! That sounded like a "mild" lashing auntie Maureen got. Let's hope she got the message. No mess with our Misty, auntie Maureen, cause we got her back!

Indian food is something my entire family can eat. My go to is chicken tikka masala and naan. I even like the baby poop. Enjoy all that FREE food! 😂👍
🤣 I'm glad you also enjoy the baby poop. And yeah your daughters can eat so many things on the menu! The free food was fantastic! 🤣
@@spang9782 sounds wonderful! I'm glad you had fun. I was looking at one of those clamping places in Namibia. I'd love to go there. They also have safaris but also have the sea. One day when he is older for sure!
😂😂😂 Misty!!!

Aunty Tuna 😆😅🤣
🤣🐟
Misty 😂 get the naysayer Aunty blocked. Dont waste your breath on negative comments! If they don't like something WHY THEY KEEP WATCHING?!? Your best reaction BLOCK'em No Comment😅😂 I like your reviews cuz you don't bad mouth the eateries.God Bless❤
Hahaha. Stank Tuna! Yeah tell dat troll kick rocks

Local boy now in TX. Get choke Indian restaurants ovah hea.

@@FoodFiend Oh one more thing. That take-out container... was it secure? or was it kinda leaking out?
@@taniner it was secure for me. It looked messy because I accidentally hit the bag on my car seat when I drove to the park. But nothing came out of the container. 👍 you can reuse it!
lol u sure maureens name not karen? thats funny just
block her i love butter chicken im going to try it
@pikakerose 🤣 yes I hope you like it! If youre not interested in the other stuff they have a butter chicken plate. 🤙
