Beautiful High Value Fixed Blade: Hard Using the JEOTEC

  • I found this cool "Ponderosa" location while scouting for such on my KTM 1190. Here we have lots of standing dead wood to work on.
Then we get busy what turns out to be a surprisingly competent fixed blade: The JeoTac, made in Spain. It presents like a very high quality knife costing way more than its humble pricing. Just check out that sheath for instance.
Then I institute what might be a new way to infield test these knives: ratings on splitting, battening, chopping, shaving/planing, food/meat prep, and even throwing (!). No this 6.7" Bushcraft No37 is meant as a camp knife so some tasks might be a reach.
But all in all, Sean and I come away very impressed with its edge holding (Mova 58 steel), toughness, and throwing capabilities (wth). It is recommended.

I'm still rocking my Ontario Marine Raider Bowie from whenever that video dropped like a decade ago. I'm pretty sure it's still the leader for value, and its still processing wood and have fallen quite a few 4-8" tree limbs. However this Jeo-Tec is nice looking.

Have you checked out Joker Knives? Also made in Spain and very high quality. This Jeo Tac looks very good.

Nutn, check out Joker knives. They are made in Spain also and I think they are made by the same parent company as JeoTec. They use higher quality steels like 14c28n and K720.

I was looking several years ago for a knife on Amazon and this knife was in the recommended. So, Amazon. lol

can't believe dude took a versys out there. They tried to make them look dual sporty with the longer suspension travel, but its too damn heavy, and the suspension just sucks (one tube spring, one tube shock, oversprung, underdamped, no radial brakes).

I'm sure it's a decent knife.. but these prices are completely out of hand; I'm not gonna pretend that it's normal or acceptable for me personally, when you can just get a strip of your favorite super steel and grind it into whatever shape you want and save a ton. What happened to self reliance and making our own stuff? At least that's where my heads at these days

Im glad to hear someone else say what I've been saying.
These knife companies are beyond ridiculous with their marketing and brand pricing.

@@richardhenry1969 Yeah.. I bought some paramilitary 2 clones for ten buckz each... I should have grabbed 20 of them because they are awesome.. and I can't find them now. I'm sure it's lower grade steel, like D2 or something around there.. but it still works great and I just learned how to sharpen them well.
