The driver for the gorgeous blue yacht manage to hit the same dock, TWICE.
That collision at 2 minutes is insane. 4 boats trying to squeeze through the same location at the same time. What a bunch of knuckleheads. Hope buddy was ok that got the rig on his chest. That forklift fail was probably the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. The guy swimming after the boat was pretty epic also. The funny part about the last clip is how easy it is to back up a trailer.
To be fair, in the last clip, backing a single axle trailer can be tricky. They want to wander all over the place.

@@mikejones8866 I agree, espechally because the car is wider than the trailer. You only see that the trailer went to a side, when it is pretty late. And when not driving with one commonly they are even harder to control. Might look easy but is not as easy as it seems.

Driving backwards is like driving forwards, the steering wheel moves in the same direction just the back end is turning instead of the front.

4:14 that's why i always tell my kayakers to reconsider deep water and stick to shorelines. a lot boat operators won't be able to see you and they often won't even be able to hear your horn until its too late. Edit: this makes me want to record boaters trying to get out of the marina on a windy day
That's all good advice. But that kayaker would have been quite visible to the pilot of that boat.
At one launch spot at a nearby lake, the distance between the ramp and the floating walkway that is opposite of the dock is a few boat lengths at best. That...is fun on a windy day...with an inboard...

Most off those boats got a poly protector on the bottom.
They drive in shallow rivers with a lot off trees and rocks so they are protected against that.

Boating etiquette dictates that you do not help unless asked to help, or for imminent danger.
I tried helping someone like that, and they made it clear they did not need my help... they also ran the corner of their boat into the dock on the ramp after insisting they had it handled... I now only offer help to those that indicate they would like some help...

2:36 Forgot to chock the wheels before lifting the hitch off the ball, did you? I did that myself one time with a large travel trailer - with my wife and kids still inside. Luckily, the two safety chains were still hooked on. One snapped, but the other held, keeping the trailer from sailing down a hill and into a million-dollar class A rig parked at the bottom. I take my time and do it right now.
BTW, that was a beautiful save by the guy with the boat, and probably the lowest speed road rash incident I've ever seen.
Also, it is most likely the least expensive fail of this video

I did that too with a car dolly, the kind where your front wheels are driven onto the dolly. Forgot to chock the wheels, underestimated the weight of it.

Being a boater for many years I can't tell you how many times I have seen people not being able to back up a trailer.
Many can't drive forward competently, let alone in reverse!
Same here, takes practice. Best advice I ever got.... never approach anything with your boat faster than you’re willing to crash into it.

Edit: Found a news article, apparently it was a computer malfunction, the captain was trying to hit something that would absorb the impact rather than rocks etc.

What happened with the Epic was due to a shift of winds. You can't do much other than cross your fingers and hope the damage isn't too bad when that happens.
I'm going to share the secret of backing up a trailer with all of you: push the *bottom* of the steering wheel the direction you want the trailer to go. Combine that skill with two rules of thumb and you're good to go: 1) Always anticipate where you want to go; turning the trailer takes time, and 2) take your time; no shame in pulling forward just a few feet to straighten out a mistake.
I don't have a license, but I will remember this when I break the law with a trailer for the first time.

Thanks for the tip. My husband has always taught me (and whoever else he’s teaching at the moment) to steer the opposite way you want the trailer to go. Seems easy enough in theory, but I have had a helluva time trying to process that real-time. Obviously, following the bottom of the steering wheel accomplishes the same exact thing, but I’m betting it will be much easier for me to mentally follow. :)
And just like that, it suddenly makes sense.
