Best headliner tutorial on youtube by far. I've done this many times and it came up on suggested. Only thing I do that you don't is cut relief cuts and fold over the material on the inside of the holes for the lights. Great video!

@@HeadlinerMagic You can get the nasal rinse from Costco, or any pharmacy like Walgreens or CVS. Neilmed is the brand that I use as they have the prepackaged salt and then you just have to buy distilled water. Definitely use distilled water and heat the solution in the container for about 20-30 seconds in the microwave, nothing longer than that as the water will get too hot. Then just bend over in the sink and squirt the solution up into your nose and enjoy the crud that will soon come tumbling out! lol Its actually something I believe everyone should do periodically. Always store the bottle without the top on to allow the container to dry and not get mildew etc between uses. I store my bottle in the cardboard box with the top wedged into one of the corners of the box. BTW Marcus, I agree wholeheartedly with all the comments above from others! Thank you very much for the best film on the headliner replacement. I plan this project, but not sure if this can be done at lower temperatures (around 50F)? Would it cause just longer times for glue to stick, or it can be other problems and better to wait when it gets warmer? Thank you again.
Hello Olena, you can do it in lower temps. Like you said you will just have a longer tack time for it to dry. This can be a good thing tho if you are spraying a larger area. Marcus
@@HeadlinerMagic Thank you, Sir, so see even some positive effects here with lower temperatures. I also want to inquire what do you think about KilMat (sound deadening)? I bought it to put under the headliner, but now think it might be difficult because of all those curves. Thank you again for the wonderful film.
@@olenaerhardt7725 The sound deadening is a great addition to your project. it will be a little tough around some curves but it doesn't have to be perfect. You can cut it and place it like that as well. It will still work the same.

Your videos have been very helpful. I am tackling this job on my Volkswagen. I didn't have a wire brush or that tool, but some laundry detergent on a nylon brush got all the old foam and glue residue off. I didn't get it too wet so the board wouldn't get ruined. The disassembly and putting it back have been the hardest parts, so many clips, especially with the sunroof!

Laying the foam down first is definitely the way to go. But if you choose not to the process will still work as long as the board is clean of all debris. The amount of stretch in the fabric you choose to use will help to eliminate wrinkles.
@@EscapePlanSkateboarding Yes indeed EscapePlan Skateboarding. I love the screen names guys! This was very helpful. I just bought a 1987 fiberglass camper that originally had headliner on the walls and ceiling. I'm in a panic thinking about redoing it, because I've never done that before. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience I saved it to my playlist. Great instructional video - I will watch this video several times over to build my confidence and ingrain the process in my brain. I might consider replacing my headliner. I am trying to resolve my water leaking into my 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 pickup truck. I tested the sunroof drain tubes with only a cup of water yesterday. I initially tested the drain tubes while the truck was backed into the driveway; the water drained through the front drain tubes only; I did not notice water leaking from any other location. I started the engine, pulled out of the driveway and faced the truck forward; tested the drain tubes; the backseat passenger side did not disperse water; the backseat driver side dispersed water through the drain tubes, the front passenger side dispersed the water down the drain tube and also down the pillar through the dash; the front driver side dispersed water down the drain tube. Test Results 1 - the passenger side of the truck seems to be the problem.
If you haven't taken the board out then that would be the next thing you may find that the drain hoses have slipped off from there positions or the hoses could be damaged (dry rotted). Thanks for viewing.
@@HeadlinerMagic Just like the Billy Preston song | Will It Go Round in Circles - yes I have gone in a circle about headliners. I finally stopped all water leaking into my truck whether it is from rain, sleet or snow and car washes - actually a master/wizard mechanic in town accepted the challenge. My Mechanic has repaired two of our vehicle's air conditioning at a fraction of a cost. Every damn auto body shop only works through insurance companies. The two upholstery shops in town nearly doubled their prices: I know we have experienced high inflation, but a increase of 80%!!!! I inquired of both auto upholstery shops about different fabric [samples I purchased from Joann Fabric]: one shop says no to the material stating that the foam won't stick to the foam and the second shop says it can be done, but then the price creeps closer to $800.00 because he would glue to headliner fabric that has foam. I plan to return to Joann Fabric and learn if they sell the correct type of foam for headliners.
Not at all. If your referring to the adhesive. If you are referring to the cloth back headliner ability to get stained well that would be a yes. It can get stained by dirty hands, cigarettes' smoke ect... Marcus
Headliner Magic thank you for your response Marcus. I was referring to the adhesive. You guys’ headliner looks quite thick, making it hard for the adhesive to penetrate right? Do you think there would be a chance it would stain the slim factory headliners found in most European cars; that sag and just need to be adhered back on, obviously of course if someone was not careful and sprayed a little too much on one area, perhaps it would. I already purchased your adhesive btw, just haven’t got the time to use it yet.
@@EJR20 No the adhesive will not stain the headliner fabric as long as you shake the can well before spraying. This why you want to spray the board first and make sure the spray coming out is like mist silly string and not wet globs. I like using the 1/8" flat knit style headliners us on the European cars. I prefer it in most cases because it is flexible and tough. But I have had bleed thru when I have two much glue on the boards. Most of the time this will happen in a grab handle pocket. So I'm not perfect in that regards. I usually have a few choice works and either redo it or wait for it to dry more before pressing it down any more. You can usually see a streak coming thru as a warning if this happens. Being mindful on laying out the glue evenly and this will minimize the staining to zero. Great question Edgar, I hope this helps. Marcus

Thanks for that tip Richard, I will have to add that to my tool belt of headlining skills. Marcus
Awesome video!!! my 16 year old is planning on restoring her grandfather truck, this is video is a fantastic tool for her. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Because of you, I did a great job on my first ever attempt and I'm grateful 💯🙌🏽✊🏽 I didn't have the electrical tools so it took my entire day lol but also I was learning. Thank you!
Alright Dana, I’m so proud to hear of your success. That is awesome 😎. Marcus
Great video, thank you so much. I'm glad you got to tell us about the crucial part before the sound went out ;)
Thank you for the comment. We created a new one to fix the sound issue. It can be found in the video bio description. Marcus
Very good display of installation for the headliner. Exactly what I was looking for...detailed and no BS commentaries ...direct to the point ...well done
Thank you Nicholas for watching, Marcus
Nice work,thank you!
I'm tackling the project tomorrow on my 22 yr.old truck.
Good job let us know if we can assist you in any way. Marcus
Very well demonstrated and straight to the point. This is the first video tutorial I have really had to take my time to watch because every single thing was on point. Message sent clearly and carefully explained too.
Thanks
Thank you Raymond, we appreciate your time spent watching. Marcus
I agree 100%
Worth watching your video my brother just got my headliner done a week ago and paid 150 dls it looks like something I can do myself thanks for sharing my man
Best headliner tutorial on youtube by far. I've done this many times and it came up on suggested. Only thing I do that you don't is cut relief cuts and fold over the material on the inside of the holes for the lights. Great video!
Thanks Nicholas for watching. I did years ago cut the relief s and fold the cuts in on the lights and visor holds. But over time I realize that those accessories have enough tension to hold the material close enough to the board to create a great seal. Thank you again for watching. Marcus
Bought my Kit from Marcus a few moths ago for my Camaro. Great products and amazing customer service!! Thank you again!
Thanks James glad we could be of help👀✅
Awesome instructional video. I’ve done several headliners before but I have never used the method of starting in the middle and doing a little section at a time. That’s a great idea. I’m going to do a Buick National in a few weeks and I’m going to use this method. Thanks
Thanks Theodore for watching.
What a honest guy. Now i feel motivated to try my self.
✔ Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate you watching the video. Marcus
Just I received 1 order from Ebay today till I watch this tutorial, I notice this material was better, so I placed my 3 yards, and my spray, from you guys, it's coming to LA,THANK YOU
Thank you for your purchase. We appreciate your business.
Thank you my van really needs a new headliner but I didn't have the money for a shop. I can do this myself now thanks to you
Your welcome Nemo, I know your van will look great. Let me know if you need any other assistants. Marcus
Sir, this IS the BEST headliner video I've seen to date that aint botched with shitty loud music and crass, just plain dumb jokes. YOU RELEASED AN ABSOLUTE EXCELLENT TUTORIAL !
Thank you!!! Q: Have you thought about teaming with Sprayway Customs to do a Webinar?
Crazy you asked Christopher. I reached out to him about 2 to 3 months ago and got no answer. I know the messages can get a little overwhelming so I just left it at that. I felt like we could make a good collaboration. I was subscribed to him for a while he does great work. I learned how to better my fiberglass techniques thru him. I will be using those skills learned on doing some door panels on my 86 el camino / camaro door panel conversion.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Thank you as well for watching the content.
Very detailed and easy to follow along. I'm updating my headliner in my Jeep very soon and can't wait to update it to a finished product.
Made it look so easy I have mine very bad almost 2 yr now he gave me some magic to start my new project thankyou
Thanks Segal for watching and commenting. It really helps the channel. I glad the info helped you to tackle the project. Marcus
Very well done. By far one of the best and thorough videos I've seen doing a headliner install. Very few edits, beginning to end. This is how an artisan works. Quick, careful, and attention to detail. GREAT work sir, and thanks for sharing the video. I wish you a lot of success. Skill like this deserves it.
Thank you Harry, I really appreciate the kind words. 🙏 Marcus
The best headliner repair video ever made
Thank you James, I appreciate the kind works. Marcus
So smooth. A pleasure to watch. I did half of my headliner before watching this and I really @#%@ed up my rear handle indent. Hopefully today after watching this I perfect the forward half!
Thanks for watching Sam. i believe you got this going forward. Just keep one side up and push it in the indention then lay over the rest of the material.
Nice clean, clear & no-nonsense video Marcus. Lost the volume near the end but common sense will handle that. Thank You, my friend.
Glad it was helpful! Timothy. I created an new on incase you need a second wind. You can catch it at the link below.

This is the best explanation of this process I have ever seen. Thanks so much for taking the time to do the demonstration. Greetings from Australia.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks you Roger, many thanks to Australia also. Marcus
Love that you did this in manageable sections! 1st video I have seen presented in this way, excellent way to keep control of the material and end up with a big mistake
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for making a very simplistic and easy video to follow. I’ll be doing my headliner in my Chevy truck with more confidence now. I greatly appreciate your video. 💯
Thank you Cameron for looking us up. Happy Holidays and reach out to us for any help need.
You can tell he has done this more then once. Experience! Great video.
Thanks for watching Rick. Marcus
The best video I watched!!!!.. I’m going to keep it for my project!!!... very, very, very professional!!!...
Thank you. I glad to help. Marcus
Bro I'm giving you hundreds of views. I'm doing my headliner and you have the best video

Very informative video. I like how you got rite to the point and didn't waste a lot of time talking stuff that dint matter. Stayed w the point as well. Yup,I'm subscribing.
Thank you. I hope only to get better with time. Thanks for subscribe.
You just saved me a bunch of $$$ (over $400 from local shop)! Will order your headliner and spray. Thank you! Best How-To video!!
Glad to help! Thank you Gage, I appreciate the business and viewing of the video, Marcus
Great video!! Clear, concise and to the point! I love it.
I know that replacing the headliner isn't the "hardest" job to do on an interior, especially for you, but... having a great "how to" really helps!
Must people like me, really want to do this, but are afraid of making simple mistakes and having to buy more material, and wasting time.
Thank you, so much for making this!
I have a future project, and for some reason, this was my biggest worry. Now I know I can easily tackle this job, no problem!
I really appreciate, also that you have the products to order in your description!
I appreciate your willingness to trry the task. I know you will do great. Send me pics. I love to see the results. headlinermagic@gmail.com Marcus
Marcus, well done video, simple and instructive. The pros make it look easy !
Glad it was helpful! Marcus
Wow, great job you have a great deal of talent in not only doing the job but in teaching. Thanks
Thank you for the kind words. Its actually relax the more I do it. Marcus
This is probably the best headliner video I’ve seen. I will order my headliner material from these guys.
That was a great instructive video. Wish I had seen it before scraping all the foam off with a wire brush. Harder than I expected but it does work. However, this will definitely help me get the new material installed right. Thank you!
Thank you for watching. Marcus
I found laundry soap and a nylon brush works without digging in to the headliner board. Just rinse and let it dry well (put mine in the sun for a few hours).
Brother you make it look as easy as spreading buttah on toast! Seriously, great video! I'm getting ready to replace the headliner in our trusty 97 Yukon. It doesn't see the road that much anymore and the NC sun has cooked the ceiling of the old warhorse! Your video is right on time and I have subscribed. Many thanks!
Thank u for subscribing. The Yukon will be back on the raid soon. I will have ebooks out soon for the details on how to remove the boards per vehicles. My subscribers will get them for $1 when their ready. Also use coupon code magic1 at checkout for 10% of your headliner purchase . Marcus

Thanks Ruben, I appreciate you watching and commenting. It means a lot to the channel I hope much success in you videos as well. Marcus
The best and most informative headliner video I've seen.
Wow, thanks! We appreciate you taking a look. Marcus
Great explanation! You made it easy for me to replace the headliner by myself. Thank you for this video!!
Your welcome. Send pics of the finish product. I will start a gallery page on the website.
I recently bought a truck with a destroyed headliner. I didn’t want to pay hundreds for an oem headliner replacement. I ordered the materials from headliner magic and am confident on fixing up my headliner! Thank you!!
Excellent John, We hope that our videos will guide you to success. Let us know if there is any thing we can do to help you win.
That goes for me to first time I ever seen somebody do a headliner I've always been wanting to do one on my truck it's been hanging for years so now I think I could tackle that job myself man I appreciate that keep up the good work I'm glad I stumbled onto your Channel
Thank you as well for commenting. This help TH-cam to see that this video helps others. Glad to see motivation in other as well. Marcus😎
INCREDIBLE video man! Very informative, and you show the proper way to do it. After probably 20 crappy videos made by teenagers I finally found this! THANK YOU MARCUS!!!!
Thank you Jacob, for check us out.. I created a new one to fix the audio drop off. Just in case you wanted to here the whole thing. Marcus
You’re elite with the entire demonstration I really learned a lot 👍🏽
Thank you Mr Brascom for watching the videos. Marcus
Just purchased my supplies in your website. I hope 2 cans of the adhesive is enough. Thank you for this video!
I don't get how you don't have any more views and likes than you do. Best video I have seen on doing a head liner. By farrr! Good work man. Looks extremely good!
Thank you very much. I need to advertise more and make more videos to get notice with TH-cam. Thanks for watching hope your project is a success.
I was just about to ask/write if it's kool to use a material that's a little thicker/better than traditional headliner fabric when you mentioned the different fabrics you use. Not only do you explain/demo so well - you're psychic. LOL!!!
You did it again when you mentioned the best length/width of the fabric for your headliner. 🎩 🪄
A shop vac or hand vacuum can be used to get rid of the scraped debris. Just saying...
Thanx for posting this!!!!!
This video was amazing. I've been meaning to fix my headliner sometime and this video was super informative!!
Thank you for watching. I'm happy to provide some valuable info in your journey. Marcus
Ive watched a few videos on how to replace the headliner and this is by far the best ive watched. Very informative and easy follow! Thank you!
Thank you for the feedback. More vehicle specifics are on the way to help with headliner board and overhead console removal tips. Marcus
Well if you could do a video on the 1st Gen Lincoln Navigator, that would be amazing! Lol. I just picked up my 2002 Navi and at somepoint in the early 2000’s, a cheap dvd overhead unit was installed and its completely rubbish! Its actually the reason im looking at redoing my headliner! After I remove the monitor of course!

lungs AND sinuses... nasal rinse...
@@darrinsiberia what is a nasal rinse? I may need that. Marcus
You are certainly a professional and your presentation made it look so easy! Nice music too. One of the best how-to videos Ive seen!
@@robertgelley6454 Thank you Robert for the info and kind words as well. I going to try this this weekend. I have been on my lemon water at 2 bottles a day since last week and it has seem to help with my sinus congestion issue. Stay well Marcus
Best headliner video on TH-cam
Wow, thanks! Marcus😎
@@HeadlinerMagic Thank you, it is very kind of you to answer my questions. I bought Kilmat in pieces (like 1'x1'), so it would be easier to apply. Really bcs it goes under the liner it shouldn't be perfect. I'll just try my best. Thanks a lot for the idea, Sir.
Yes Jessica, the VWs are some of the most difficult once especially 2006 to 08 they used some flotation hardware on the visors and grab handles and if one of these fall out your project time can be extended. Let me know if I can be of help. Marcus
Was about to buy from amazon then stumbled across your video when searching the proper way to go about this. Ended up purchasing from you guys instead. Thanks for the tutorial!

Great help for my 2007 chev Silverado up here in Canada thankyou sir🤠👍
Thanks you from From Dallas TX, Marcus 😎👍🏽
I have some fabric, but it's not foam backed. Should I lay some foam down first to minimize creasing??
Laying the foam down first is definitely the way to go. But if you choose not to the process will still work as long as the board is clean of all debris. The amount of stretch in the fabric you choose to use will help to eliminate wrinkles.
@@HeadlinerMagic Got it. Could I lay fabric over OEM headliner material?
@@EscapePlanSkateboarding Yes indeed EscapePlan Skateboarding. I love the screen names guys!
You can definitely lay the new liner over the existing one if the integrity of the old one is still intact. You may have to use a bit more glue because the old foam headliner will absorb some of the glue sprayed. Marcus
Pulled my headliner out today and found this video, this video gave me confidence to tackle it.

You are very welcome I’m pleased this has helped so many people.. thanks you for watching. Marcus
I have a 2010 Ridgeline what a sagging headliner. Can you tell me the exact materials you used in the video so I can order them for my Ridgeline?
The material for the Honda Ridgeline will be the flat knit style headliner. Please tell me if your is gray or tan and I will get you you to the right color match . The adhesive used is called the Performance adhesive. Thank u for viewing. Marcus
This was very helpful. I just bought a 1987 fiberglass camper that originally had headliner on the walls and ceiling. I'm in a panic thinking about redoing it, because I've never done that before. It's a European camper, and I can buy precut, presewn headliner for it from Poland. I wanted a carpet type marine headliner, but I like the idea of it already being premade for me.
I have videos of it on my channel. I'm gonna have to do it, but I'm nervous! Your video makes it look easy.
Campers are fun. You can do it and it won't be as hard as you think. If you like email me some pics of the inside and lets come up with a plan to attack it. headlinermagic@gmail.com Marcus
@@HeadlinerMagic thanks for the reply. I ended up ordering trunk liner carpet, but haven't put it up yet. We're still taking care of leaks, electrical things, etc. There are many videos on my channel that show the camper. It's still pretty ugly. LOL

@@HeadlinerMagic I pray that my truck's drain tubes just loosened from their connection and are not dry-rotted: thank you
@@PappyNet01 I believe they are just loose, the latter would be the extreme.
Does this stain?
Marcus
@@HeadlinerMagic Marcus, is it okay to add soundproofing to the roof or back of the board? I want to do this headliner restoration but have been soundproofing my car since getting a new sound system. Wanted an expert's opinion on whether adding some to the roof is okay to do?
@@BroCamelToe Yes indeed TaZa Kshy This is the best time to add sound deadner. You can glue direct to the metal Roof or the the headliner board either is fine. Marcus
