I have a 2000 Monaco dynasty that I full-time in and still love. I am so glad I don’t have any of that DEF stuff to mess with. I have a banks turbo kit on it with a 5 inch diameter custom exhaust and straight through muffler so I am not lacking in power. Thank you for the video.
Hey, thanks for watching. Yes, haven’t met a single person who’s happy to have a DEF system! Sadly…it’s a no way out, the further we go. They’ve even got systems for generators now! 😡
I think the pyro is on the outlet of the turbine for the turbo charger. The exhaust regen stuff is a good bit downstream from that and that would explain the difference in temp.
That's a good thought, for sure. I'd like to know, exactly, because my Pyro temp has usually been much higher on the road; especially in the hills. But this "Parked Regen" with no load, might have reveled what you're saying for location. Thanks!

"Particulized" excellent word Stevo! As usual, thanks for the enjoyable and informative video.
🤣 ain’t it funny how that stuff just comes out? I need to invent auto-correct for speech! Thanks for watching, Stephen! 👍
I know exactly what you mean. I teach aircraft systems to pilots. Weird stuff comes out all the time.
Hey…but if it makes sense…roll with it! And if ever questioned, just say “It’s an old phrase you just made up”! 😉
@@RVSquaredSteve totally agree. I spewed something invalid recently and hid it by saying "but I'm dating myself"

I had no idea the exhaust got that hot during a regen since we're always on the road when it happens. Dear lord you could cook ribs on that thing!
Yes SIR! Not only cook ribs, but start a brush fire and/or melt the plastic off of anything nearby (I've seen that done!).
OMG, I did not know they had systems for diesel generators now. Is that for as small as RVs use or just industrial size?
Nope, the gens in Newell coaches now have them. And regen when the gen is in an enclosed box is quite an interesting feat!
@@RVSquaredSteve I guess the regulators did not think through the thought that an RV can be parked in a forest campground.
