    Great video. Is the manual regeneration process as simple as getting to the diagnostic menu and starting the regeneration by pressing the button.

    To get the 15% increase PDI advertises, it seems like you need the exhaust & intake manifold for the ISX15/X15. Is this impression correct?

    Thanks for the video. Got a question for you about regens. What is the benefit of doing a parked regen vs a regular regen that your truck starts automatically rolling down the road? I've read on forums that parked regens don't blow the stuff out as hard so are worse for your aftertreatment? Thanks man, love your videos!

      Thanks for the comment and question. As far as my understanding, a parked and active (driving) regen are basically the same process. The main difference is that a parked regen will consume more fuel to achieve reaction temperatures that will break down the soot. The main benefit (in my case anyways) of doing a parked regen is that it completes its process uninterrupted. My truck typically starts doing active regens at the most inconvenient times, such as when I'm pulling into a shipper, going doing a street with 25 traffic lights, stopping for fuel, etc. So in those cases, the regen will stop, and it will try to finish when you start moving again. My truck is almost impossible to downshift while in an active regen, so if I notice it trying to do regens often, and getting interrupted, I do a parked regen, to kind of reset it. Once I do a parked regen, it will do active regens in shorten durations, and that's less inconvenience for me while driving.

    Do you run eld? What kind of truck? I keep having issues with mine. Keeps saying buss can fuse. It’s worked for a total of maybe 4 weeks out of over a year. Been on line with tech support no luck

      Quite honestly, I use my android phone with Google maps, and I get an updated motor carrier atlas every year. I plan a route with my phone, then check all the roads with my atlas for restrictions and low clearances. I get the most up to date closures, wreck, and traffic info that way. You just have to be careful and use common sense with it, if there is a road that looks like you shouldn't go down, i just look around for alternatives before I get into trouble.

    Good video for the pdi,does it increase your egts at all? I bought the bullydog tuner but it makes my egts go sky high on my Cat

      I have noticed higher regen temps since doing my last update, running at about 1050 to 1150F, but it seems it does shorter regens, which is good because my truck is almost impossible to downshift when in a regen.

    Great video! What temperature the sensors should be operating at when driving on highway? And what temperature should the sensors show when doing park regen? I have the same engine isx 2250 built in 2012. Can I use this unit on other engine makes? Thanks.

      500-600f driving, 1000-1200 during regen. It depends on the conditions, load and pull over the hill etc…

    Hey Ryan its john, quick question when you look at the load board and you see 2.50 a mile is that before or after landstar takes thier 35% ?

      Hi John, the rates on the load board will be the full rate Landstar is charging. If you see a $2.5 a mile load, you will be roughly $1.70, depending on fsc rate at the time and accessories that might be paid at a higher rate.

      PDI is an engine tuner. It has more features and functions than the Bosch scanning tool

      I still remain neutral on it. It doesn't provide the value that worth the price of $2,000, the value it provides probably worth $500 for me.

    How long did it take to download the 3 tuner flash programs? I've had this connected to my phone for a long time and the tuner only reads at the top, "checking filename KW101022.03"

    Do you know if I buy this for my current truck then decide to trade that truck in say a year from now could I use it on new truck as well assuming it’s still a Cummins or would I have to buy a new one? I’ve heard it can lock to ecm but I’d think there should be a way to reset it right?

      You have to pay PDI $650 to factory reset it to be able to use it on another truck.

      I have not scene the lite version, so I would not be able to give you an honest opinion between the two. As for the model that I have, I'm still not really sure if it is worth the price. I really have not noticed any mpg gains, but possibly a little more power. I'm thinking about adding their intake manifold down the road and see how they work together.

      They sell splitters. Keeps the eld plugged in and has a nother plug for scan tools or tuners.

    Just got one tuner from PDI after installing it on my brand new 389 i got my check engine light and the transmission light on idk what’s wrong called pdi guy and said something is wrong with my truck i think i got scammed after spending that $2500

      I just have the tuner right now. I was actually talking to rep at PDI a few weeks ago about the intake manifold, I will probably buy one when freight gets a little more stable after this covid19 thing, I've just been sitting on some of my cash to get through any slow downs right now.       Yes, but I have my center Guage set on boost right now. Their are about 50 different sensors you can have on screen, but only 5 at a time at most.

      It can go up 15%, and it won’t affect the engine

      PDI advertises in average it can go up about 15%. It is not exact.

      To be honest, I wouldn’t spend $2,000 for it, it worth $500 in my opinion. If you need to purchase something for tax purposes, you can certainly get it. It came with the truck when I bought it.

    I know this isn't a video about DEF but I'm thinking about getting the OTR performance to do forced regens, my truck seems to be using more DEF than usual. If a trucks DPF needs cleaned or the truck hasn't completed its regens, will it use more DEF?

      It could be the dirty filter or bad injector

    You can't change your gear ratio with that can you? Isn't your gear ratio your rearend/ differential gearing?

      You cannot change the gear ratio with PDI. You have to physically change the gears in the rearend.

      It’s to change the calibration in the computer so the speedometer is accurate. If you change gear ratios or tire diameter it will make your speedometer read high/low unless you recalibrate it.

      I installed it and gave me a check engine light and the transmission light can feel the power but mpg got worst called them to return it and they say it’s a no return policy lol got scammed by $2500

The biggest scam with them is that , it can be used on one truck only. At least , other people can see our comments. And hopefully they won't make the same mistake like us.
