This is fantastic. They helped suffocate Hair Metal bands off the air waves. They were broken up by September of that same year. They played the Hollywood Palace September 4, 1991. Absent Eric. They played three acoustic songs for the Craig Lee benefit.
I was at this show. Grabbed a ticket the day before show while I was visiting L.A. for the first time. This is how I rewarded myself for my first of many trips to the city looking for the heart of the culture at that time. Best $120 I've ever spent. My generation kicked ass ! We were blessed. Always be good to yourself. You never know what life is gonna throw at you and there is nothing worse than having nothing to look back on. THOSE WERE THE DAYS !
Thanx! This song is pure helter skelter. A gigantic, explosive, shocking moment at the minute 2:03 here, when Perry sings "I want to be... as... deep!...as the ocean!". One of the best "Ocean Size" I've ever listen to.
In reality, about 50% of the shows Jane's played back then "they went to work". The other 50% they were too strung out, esp Dave and Perry on the Nothing's Shocking tour. But the Ritual shows were usually just a question of whether the guitar was loud enough.
@toddnakamine you said 3 years ago you’d post more from this show. stop gatekeeping and post the whole show. good clear footage from this era is so rare
It's cool to see stuff like this surface for the first time, but it makes me hate the era of TH-cam even more, being a long-time collector and trader of this type of material. Rarely does this stuff surface in trading circles anymore via lossless captures from the master (DVDs, etc), but in lossy TH-cam format. Thanks for the efforts anyway.
Different band these days. 1st three albums are great and the two PFP albums are also very good. After that it's finished for me. Strays and Satellite Party etc just don't compare.

This is pure Janes Addiction Drugs and Dreads when they rocked!
Epic. At the peak of their powers.
This is such good quality. Good footage of them from the 80/90s is hard to find.
It’s so awesome seeing this stuff again!

So, I was at one of these shows, but the one I saw had Harry Perry (from Venice Beach) and then Dinosaur Jr open. My first Jane’s show…so damn good!
