I have a theory. When the Father offered Anakin to take his place, did he mean by wanting him to stop Abeloth? Anakin did tame Son and Daughter like Abeloth did when he realised his full potential briefly. Anakin is literally conceived by the Force with the greatest Force potential to have ever known. The Prophecy said he will bring Balance to the Force. What if it meant to stop Abeloth, not the Sith? Even Luke in his absolute peak admitted he can't defeat her and Anakin is the only one with the potential to exceed Luke and match Abeloth. Luke while powerful could only use the Light side of the force. Revan is the only one to have ever used the Force in its purest form, both Light and Dark. He was insanely powerful even when he didn't have the Force potential of Skywalkers. I think the The Chosen One was meant to master the Force in its entirety and stop Abeloth.
Tbh this implies a severe feat on behalf of Sidious.
@@OneManCast I don't think so. When he manipulated Anakin, he was nowhere near his full potential. He was just a very reckless and easily manipulated, and although he was strong, he wasn't crazy strong at that point.
EU Luke as Grandmaster mastered both sides and just plainly had no brakes on powercreep

How exactly did they defeat Abeloth? I feel like a being of that immense power should have been impossible to beat. I mean hell even the celestial could only imprison her.
Basically, Ben and Vestara went to a dark-side fountain and killed one Abeloth, the Jedi killed another, and Luke killed the third with the help of a weird darksider dude with sick ink inside his mind.
If I remember right, Luke himself admitted that they might've only beat Abeloth temporarily. He and the other Jedi were planning on finding a way to Mortis to get the dagger of the same name. After all, if it killed the other Celestials, why not her?

@@oliversmalley7771 Ehh... it'd really be something where I'd think that using brains over brawn should be what had been done. perhaps taking experience from what was done prior with blackholes and such, and perhaps develop something that could seat Abeloth INSIDE a supermassive blackhole, gravity pull so dense that even force-influence is pulled inside, thusly stopping Abeloth from being able to reach out as well.
Maybe with a end note of 'Abeloth sensed nothing... but then..... the edge of the accursed prison.... she could feel the gravitational pull, the curvature...' - this was there'd be open access for later potential '10 thousand years later in another era, Abeloth finally escapes once more!'. Cosmic horrors shouldn't really be killed or 'finally defeated'. You seal them, or stall them.
I only just recently wondered, why didn't they try to end Abeloth at her very start by throwing her INTO a black hole?

Abeloth is an interesting and powerful character! Force of nature more than anything else. Like Darth nihilus. There are very few characters in Star wars that are in her weight class. Maybe Lord valkorion? But in The art of war he would need to move fast. And give no quarter! HIs best bet for victory. is to use his army as cannon fodder.. and going in for the kill! The strategy would have to be strike hard. keep abeloth busy. and go for the head!!
She makes Nihilus seem like a joke by comparison, same for valkorion/vitiate. Abeloth would destroy them completely
@Rej you’re forgetting that valkorion is not as powerful as Luke and abeloth was weakened during the final fight. You’re also forgetting that she wasn’t just fighting Luke and Krayt, she was also fighting 4 other opponents at the same time

@@thorshammer7883 In that case I'd say we're lacking too much information on both sides. We can make assumptions and ballpark estimates, but ultimately any conclusions we reach will be meaningless.
With regard to the freighter question, I think it's more a personnel issue than anything else.
Look at the Falcon in ROTJ. You got Lando and Nunb as pilot/ copilot, three other dudes in the cockpit working presumably ship's systems and/ or sensors. Toss in the two guys I'm sure they had in the turrets, and figure 3-5 for damage control, and you're looking at 7 bodies, minimum, possibly up to 12.
That's basically an entire X-Wing squadron worth of people.
Now, sure, not all of them may be capable of being a starfighter pilot, but freeing up those bodies allows you to hunt your other ranks for people who CAN. Maybe that gunner on Mon Remonda was a freight pilot before the war. That's another ass in an X-Wing.
Maybe the navigator on a Corellian Corvette has been playing flight sims the last 15 years. That's another ass in an X-Wing.
Maybe the machinist's mate 3rd class on that Nebulon B just has an innate talent for piloting snubs. That's another ass in an X-Wing.
In short, I think the best return on investment is in the fighters. If you can do both, more's the better, but the priority goes to getting asses in X-Wings.

Seeing as it's Canon (partly) through Star Wars: Commander, is it possible that the Galactic Empire's Project: Blackwing had a secret objective of unlocking immortality (possibly based on one of Plagueis's attempts) and used by Palpatine around the time of the Battle of Endor? Seeing as the original version of the virus in Legends was created by Darth Drear in order to achieve immortality for Sith Lords, something Canon Palpatine was looking for due to believing that the Empire shouldn't out live him. I'm probably thinking about this from randomly becoming interested in the Death Troopers novel recently for some reason. (7th attempt, please answer).
The reason u didn’t see a lot of combat freighters is because most of high command weren’t use to dealing with smugglers or pirates. They were politicians and ex imp soldiers and didn’t know how to modify commercial ships into combat vessels. Plus combat vessels wouldn’t have gone unnoticed in civilian ports. Secrecy and blending in was important hence why yt-1300 cr90 gr-75 and ef76 were most common ships in RAF.

I just feel like Rex’s armor and weapons are a little more advanced than Johnson’s. Rex is also a lot more disciplined. On the other hand, Johnson has more experience and better tactics than Rex. It’s a pretty even fight in my eyes.

I wonder if what Abeloth does when reaching someone through the force... she makes the force impure, hence when reaching a mind, it unhinges it, even if just a minor bit of asocial behavior, to full on impostor-syndrome so deepseated that it's full on insanity. It would be pretty cool if that's the thing. Like how radiation damages cells, Abeloth is force-radiation that damages what is touched.

Short version: Some Imperials were plotting to overthrow Daala, but they were being manipulated by the Lost Tribe of the Sith, who were being co-opted by Abeloth, but then the Jedi got ahead of all of them and tossed her out first.

It was palpatine’s lie to put the Jedi into a bad light in order to destroy them. The difference is that the Jedi actually had a legitimate reason to kick daala out, namely the attempts to subjugate the Jedi and how she was handling the slave revolts. It actually got to the point where the majority of the public hated her. It also didn’t help that she essentially rigged the trial of tahiri for assassinating gillad paeleon despite the fact that daala herself did much worse things

My only significant gripe about Legends is how dependent it was on neutering the Jedi at every opportunity. Something I also didn't like about the Sequels. You can have them face a challenging enemy without having them go underground or being purged every 20 years like clockwork.

The idea of pools of liquid power causing transformations and changes in the local force, as well as the association (however vague) with strange stars (one a seemingly natural crystallization processes, and another an artificial prison of black holes) is very interesting, and I'm curious if there is something more to it than that.
Also the connection between Abeloth and Aboleths. Heh. Some author pulled a funny, I think.

We don't know if Abeloth is canon because she hasn't appeared at all but if she is, thank God they didn't run into her. They should have nodded to her though, in Clone Wars Solo or even Rebels. Like maybe one person says “is it me or doesn’t anyone feel that we’re being watched?” Or the force users can’t stop hearing this otherworldly voice calling out to them or if they neared the Mae the feel this god-like and malevolent “thing” inside the maw and are desperate to get away out of terror. Saying soothing skin too “I don’t know what I’m sense in that gravity well, and I am *NOT* staying to or keen on finding out!”

I would really like for Disney/Lucasfilm to make his story canon so we can have a tie-in to the EU's version of the Rule of Two and some Old Republic backstory.
The scary part of abeloth's "Defeat" is that luke himself wasnt fully convinced that abeloth is fully dead even after he uses the dagger of mortis on her and thats the only weapon that can do any real damage to her
So, essentially, the psychosis is basically Abeloth's version of the Logic Plague...that's terrifying.

Doesn't one of the book's (can't remember which one) say that Abaloth can escape when the flow of time is changed. And that Jacen did this after going Beyond Shadows and seeing Allana sitting at a throne with Darth Kryat (?)
I agree, Falcon was mostly hot-rodded out by Lando who had the massive funds to bankroll it as a pet project. The YT-1300's were bulk freighters designed for economy and cargo, not combat.

The Kipu-Men, a Race of small Human Like people who wander the galaxy, they Do Not participate in any conflict whatsoever. One of the key components of their species is relationships with each other and looking out for each other, and they do just that. The Multitude of Clan’s, Tribes, and Factions of the Kipu-Men that travel the Galaxy all agree on one thing: Violence doesn’t solve their issues, and the best way to not get pulled into conflicts is to not look at the conflicts, and instead, choose the more practical option of running, hiding, and holding out till the smoke clears, and then continue on their way.
Another thing interesting about the Kipu-Men is that in the Star Wars Universe, they have a Naturally High Midichlorian Count, but aren’t connected to the force. This gives them a supernatural shield and force powers, including even Force Lightning.

Completely unrelated, but I have a suggestion.
What if we have a versus that's The Arbiter and a group (perhaps a fleet, or ground combat force) of various Covenant forces (minus brutes, for obvious reasons) vs General Grievous and a group of various Separatist forces, similar sized forces for fairness.
I think it'd be interesting to see different variables come into play, like how infantry square off, Hunters vs. B3 Ultra, Grunts vs. B1's, Elites vs. Magnaguards/BX Commando droids etc. as well as technology, the tactics of Arbiter vs. Grievous, the individual efforts of Arbiter and Grievous (since they are both powerful combatants on top of being Tacticians), fleet advantages and disadvantages etc.
I honestly think that'd be an amazing (albeit slightly subjective and hard to put together) versus analysis, I didn't put it very organized or detailed, but I'm sure you could, with your extensive knowledge on both Halo and Star Wars.

The Death Star was the most expensive and one fo the most important weapons of the imperial military. So that begs the question, why was the first Death Star not protected by a fleet of star destroyers in the Battle of Yavin like it was earlier during the Battle of Scarif?
I'm no Eck, but as I recall Tarkin was his typical arrogant self and said the DS didn't need a fleet to go up against a few puny rebels. I could be wrong, it's been known to happen before.
It wasn’t, it was only protected during construction. Once the station was ready for testing it had no protection outside of Vader’s destroyer during the battle of scarif

I'd like to see someone discuss how Jaina solo under normal circumstances wouldn't have been able to defeat Darth Caedus. If Caedus hadn't been distracted by the virus being directed at Alana and Tenel Ka, I believe Caedus would have wiped the floor with her. I never liked this part of the series. I wanted Caedus to win, even if he had to go into exile, because Caedus vs Abeloth is the real thing I wanted to see.
Not much to talk about. The books themselves pretty much explicitly spell it out for you. Jaina solo could not at all have defeated Caedus in a 1 v 1 fight as a Jedi. It's why she trained with the Mando's to get used to using them down and dirty tactics. The fight STARTED with Caedus taking a lightsaber through the torso and he still nearly killed her.
Caedus still succeeded in his goals in the end, even in death. Alana on the white throne.

Well, the loneliness and emptiness are not just her trying to manipulate people - she is extremely lonely and sad. So there might have been a legitimate emotional connection there.
Super Sonic Duo Ben remained cut off from the force throughout most of the war with the Vong because of the multitudes of beings that were dying and being force sensitive he could feel the disturbance in the force. I believe in the second book in the Fate of the Jedi Series it states that Ben was also scared of the dark Tentacle that was trying to root inside him at shelter. So it has nothing to do with Abeloth using light side powers, just Ben pretty much ignored it because he ignored the force.

The force power, and the potential effect of it, has some similarities to mind trick, and it's darker counterpart force insanity (certainly after KOTOR II, one of my favourite abilities). The technique is probably better to understand on a spectrum, much like real world neurological conditions.

How do force users cut themselves off from the force?
3 Ways.
1st Simple denial. They refuse to listen to the force or be guided by it. It will take a while but after some years was once felt like ignoring tinitus becomes the norm and their senses might even degenerate. But most of the time they are still connceted yet unconscoius about it.
2nd Enforced atrophy. Usually inflicted by others upon one. While influencing the medichlorian-count might work for some time, with a group effort it is possible to permanently cause a mass dying of them in an individuum. Jedi used this technique as punishment for captured Sith. Instead of killing them this technique lowers their sensibility and control of the force to the levels of a non force-sensitive.
3rd Wounding. Very unusual occurence. Is seems to be linked with cases of mass dying that the force mirrors by being very faint in some places. In an individuum it can be compared to point 2 but instead of reaching levels of non sensitivity it goes beyond that effectively going towards 0 and can even end in negeative values, resulting in a presences that has either no presence in the force (like a dry bubble surrounded by water that can't reach the inside) or killing off the force in close proximity (like a blackhole eternally sucking in the light around it).
