Funny, I actually tried to make a mod like that using C and cheat engine on ptde, but whenever the armour changes, the framerate drops to about 2fps for a few seconds. So I guess the ptde engine cant handle loading 4 pieces of armour-mesh so suddenly.
When he did the gungame mod, where his gear levels up and down depending on how many hits he takes and inflicts, the armor was changing aswell alongside weapon upgrade. Could check that out.

Having at least a full armor on made quite a difference if I remember correctly. That's why the gold-hemmed set behind ceaseless was so good, it was a full set to give you the defense boost and also super light for fast roll and on top of that fire reduction. And fashion was on point btw. Edit: Boost is the wrong word, but it is important to wear a piece of armor on every slot to not waste potential points in defense and poise. BUT THERE IS NO BONUS LIKE IN DS3 FOR HAVING ARMOR ON EVERY SLOT. Because people keep posting about this I need to make it more clear apparently. So in short: Don't waste defense by having an empty armor slot. Armor in D1 was pretty great compared to other DS games and poise was really useful. Havels set or giants set with havels ring is pretty much easy mode.
Imagine being a Dark Souls boss just having to stare down this man who’s walking at you throwing weapons away every .2 seconds while having new ones at the ready. I’d be concerned too.
Gwyn no parry gets deeply in my nerves, he was not a finished boss and definetly wasn't designed to be fought without a shield/parrying, dodging trough his attacks is a nightmare because he doesn't ever stops attacking
I killed the centipede demon like that on my first playthrough, and had no idea what had happened. First try with this boss, just running around trying to survive and start learning his moves. Barely hitting it. Checking the fog door. Yep, no surprise, it's closed. And suddenly, the boss was dead. A very confusing victory.
I almost thought I'd get stuck on this boss permanently since his moves were so erratic and the boss arena sucked. Then he just died. I was so glad lmao
Always hated Sanctuary Guardian. Dark Souls 3 style speed and aggression, but you have to fight it with Dark Souls' slow, chunky controls. Really frustrating.
For centipede demon they meant the bug that makes it fall out of the boss arena I think. But as far as I'm aware you have to got to the left of the fog gate a little.

I pretty much never fight centipede *since I'm a weeb for solaire* and while its not hard too save him without the shortcut. Just easier with *but the few times I have fought him I have just baited him too land and sloppy fought him till he fell over* fuck the centipede cut's
Funny how bosses have different difficulty levels depending on the person, like, my first time playing, i killed Ornstein and Smough on my first try, but also died like 7 to Taurus Demons, first tried Centipede, but also needed 12 tried to beat Bell Gargoyles, the game has a difficulty slider, only it depends on how well you do under different types of pressure, really cool
At around 36:25 you recoiled on hit, you must have swapped to Effigy/ Sanctus Shield or maybe even something like Velka's Rapier/Grant if you included them. They require mostly Faith to work and failing weapon requirements kills Poise break if I remember. That's why Artorias got the buff. Talk about bad luck! Also looks like you ended it with a Dagger R2. GG.
13:00 this is less about the challenge and more just about the game in general. This is what I love about this game - I often feel this way after dying. It often feels like it was me who fucked up, not the game that fucked me up. And it's refreshing to see someone take their losses like a champ instead of raging and blaming the game!

I like to imagine the reason some bosses just stop attacking you is because they are baffled at what's happening and are trying to process your ever changing loadout.
Captain Hindsight says it might've been a good idea to pump your fight stats at least high enough to keep weapons like Smough's Hammer and Greatsword of Artorias from causing problems. You did bounce at least one attack against Gwyn after all.

the millisecond swap fucks up the bosses too. it also hit multiple times mid swing because the swap is faster than the animation. it might be harder if it a one second swap because they'll still do their scripts and it will be stuck to a crap weapon for a whole swing.

The fact they went to the point of adding that in makes me feel like the Iron Golem falling off the Fortress is the canon way he dies.
