    Hi Ric, I do 300 pc puzzles all the time. I find lots of them at thrift stores for a few dollars. And I tend to do them more than once. They’re easy and good for an evening of no-stress puzzling. I love Charles Wysocki puzzles and pick them up whenever I see them.

      good day Terry! that's exactly what I am seeing now, lots of smaller puzzles under 500pcs and for literally a dollar each. I have to confess few large pieces after completing this puzzle days ago. definitely solving many more in the future! so easy and fun and stress free aren't they? a perfect companion for a late afternoon after a long day! :-) seems like we are all in the same boat about Wysocki puzzles - we see them, we grab them no matter what! hahah

      I see puzzles at my local thrift store all the time, but I’m always worried they will be missing pieces. What has your experience been?

    • @RicPuzzles
      @RicPuzzles  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi Sydcindy, same here, they are all over too! I had only 2 over the years that had one single piece missing but all others and i have a ton of puzzles all from thrifts that were complete. If i may, having studied society for over a decade, that the demograof your country are tightly connected to the thrift puzzle conditions. it really depends on the mindset and The demographics (country, popularity of the puzzles, age groups solving it, education etc) If the puzzles are popular with youth or very young families with mids in a country for example, you will be likely to have lots of missing pieces, but if the demographics are of older folks, they will likely to be a lot more careful. Here in nz i know for a fact that only older folks solve puzzles, hardly ever you will find a young person solving then, so im lucky i suppose to get the very careful puzzlers disposing of / recycling their puzzles. Have a look at where you live and find out how popular the puzzles are and who is likely to be their demographics. Hope that helps!

    We find it fun to wok on an "easier" puzzle especially after completing a more difficult one. We usually only buy smaller count puzzles if the subject is related to other close interests in our life. We just finished Double Parked by New York Puzzle Company (500 count) during our anniversary (36 years). We were avid cyclists together when we were younger. Wysocki is also a favorite, once again, very interesting video, thanks!

      I throw in Dollar store ($1-$1.25) puzzles in between the much more challenging ones, just for something easy. Lots of those have enough challenge to keep them interesting, even though they are very small 300-500 piece puzzles.

    Charles Wysocki puzzles are lovely. Did you know that Charles has an older brother called Heronim (Harry) who is also an artist? He also has many jigsaw puzzles available for example Flower Festival under the Hometown Collection banner. I enjoy doing puzzles from 99 or less to 1000 pieces, many of which are large piece ones. Just recently completed a 500 piece Clementoni puzzle called Cheshire Cat, very vivid!!! I've also done jigsaw puzzles where the pieces are very small, e.g. a Mr. Happy puzzle 234 pieces each 1cm x 1 cm and measures 6" x 4" when done. Look forward to your next video whenever that is.

    My 'Puzzles Done' spreadsheet shows I've done 8 Wysocki puzzles so far, all enjoyable. I just got a new batch of puzzles from my trade friend; 4 of those are Wysocki!
    I've thought it interesting that he has three different styles of art in what I've seen to date: 1) Heronym-like 2-D Americana, 2) whimsical cats (and dogs, too, most likely, but the ones I've done are cats), and 3) lush landscapes with or without buildings.

    Many years ago I had quite a lot of Wysocki puzzles which i ended up getting rid of in a swap because I hated the quality of them - i think they may have been Milton Bradley - they were thin and just not enjoyable to do. They were rather unusual in that some of them were just rectangular pieces with no tabs so you had to sit them alongside each other, which made them a nightmare to do as they constantly got pushed out of where they were supposed to sit. My favourite of his are two cats sitting in front of a fireplace which I had as a 100 piece!

    HEY BUDDY! Glad to see another output by you.
    Haven't been puzzling myself as I was fighting a sinus cold. Fun, eh? But my dad kept telling me to go outside & get some sun. Boy...did that feel GREAT!
    BTW, Happy St. Patrick's Day!
    That reminds me, your audio sounds like Scottish or Irish music. 2 places on my bucket list to visit. London too. But Australia & NZ are my DREAM vacations!!! Always have been! 😁
    I see you're gonna be out for a month +, so I hope you have fun with your plans! 👍
    Just had to drop in for a second to say Hi. &, of course, Potroast Alienhead meows Hello as well. 🐱

      Haha nz and Australia?! Thats cool, these are some interesting countries thats for sure! But UK, Scotland and Ireland have a lot more older architecture which probably makes it more exciting too!!!

      Haha thanks Kathylynn, i agree. I see no purpose on Timelapse’s unless it is part of a bigger project where there is a purpose.
