A giant surprise for me. It follows plot elements of other comic book films, but at this point its hard not to take a something from a previous comic book film. The family sells the film and i really want a sequel because i want to see more of them. This and Gran Turismo are the biggest surprises this year.

Liked it a lot, Jenny Kord and blue beetle had a good dynamic, felt the synergy with the cast it was a good time and good vibes I hope word of mouth can help this movie we should support good properties if you’re able
And the cue the 1,000 anti-woke videos was pretty funny as well because it's true. I'm all for people having different opinions about stuff but the "woke" thing is getting tiresome.
Hopefully James Gunn will keep these guys on, he could do a lot with their dynamics. Blue Beetle could definitely become DC’s Spider-Man if they play their cards right!

Xolo was great indeed! In regards to the Blue Beetle him self, suit and persona of our protagonist, it was a clear mix between Peter Parker/Spiderman and Iron Man. I mean, come on; that suit was straight-up the Iron Spidey suit, right down to the legs coming out on the backside 😂 But it looked cool! 💪
I didn’t realize the vaporub trick was considered a Latin thing. We aren’t Latin and my mom and grandmother used to do that for us. When we were sick they would rub vaporub on our chest and also run a humidifier in the room.
We use it for everything. It's a cure all. Muscles aches? Rub some vapor rub on it. Breathing issues run that stuff all over your chest and all around your nose...lol
This movie didn’t really peak my interest when i first heard of it but now you’ve got me curious. Loved hearing about the latino culture representation in this movie, feel like we need a bit more of that in Hollywood Also i have a pretty good idea of what that vaporub joke was about 😂
And they used actual Latinos to make it so it’s authentic not that forced diversity crap! The director is Puerto Rican, I think he nailed it with the cultural/representation part 🙌🏼

This was the first DC movie I've bothered watching in theaters since covid. And it's my favorite DCEU movie (if it counts) by far. Nothing wrong with a simple, personal stakes origen story. That's what made early MCU so good

Totally agree with this movie feeling more like the older early 2000's pre MCU era movies, just a standalone superhero origin movie despite being generic felt like a breath of fresh air nowadays, I can imagine myself seeing this movie as a kid and absolutely loving it and playing pretendig I was a superhero with my parents lol.

The nice thing about this movie for WB and DC is this movie had a budget around 100-125 million dollars (not counting marketing), so it doesn't have to make much to break even.
I really enjoyed this film. It was fun. The sound design hits hard in IMAX. It was definitely worth the IMAX ticket for me. It's sad no one is willing to give it a chance. Due to the bad rep. This film deserves better. It definitely felt like a self contained film which I like. No set up just straight focus on telling the story of this characters and the world

It's not perfect, there's a lot of cheesiness with the family (I wish George Lopez just looked like himself -- he's not much of a character actor), but man this movie was so much fun! I didn't notice the run time; the deep dives into DC/Blue Beetle history were great and I love the potential for a sequel. I hope this does well enough to continue on!

Really unless you’re a comic book fan or you have a comic book fan in your family nobody knew there was a new DC comics movie in theaters this weekend. I asked all the dudes that I work with today if they were going to see this movie and not one of them knew who is the character was Or that it was a DC character or that this movie existed. There wasn’t any promotion done at all. I haven’t seen any billboards, the only time I’ve seen advertisements with the trailer was when I was watching something comic book related on TH-cam. That was it. The other thing people need to realize before they start calling it a “flop “ is that it almost made 50 million worldwide but the budget was only $125 million. So if they spent no money on advertising outside, whatever they pay the company that makes the trailers for them and the budget was only 125 million and it’s already made 50 million and the reviews are positive. I don’t think they’re gonna lose any money on this. I’m not saying they’re going to make a huge profit but I don’t think they’re going to take a loss either. Something I’ve noticed in the world of comic books/Star Wars now the fans are so negative. They are programmed to hate something before they even see it, but on top of that, I’ve noticed the definition of the word “flop. “ means something now completely different than it did. 10 years ago. 10 years ago if a movie flopped, it means it lost a lot of money. Now people just use the word flop for 10 different reasons for a negative opinion about the movie. I’ve been a DC comic book fan for over 40 years and I’m actually really embarrassed with the new generation of fans. It’s OK not to like DC comics, but if you’re just here to cheer for everything to fail why even waste your time with DC comics? Why would you spend any time at all on something you don’t like? Never watch another DC movie again or pick up a comic book ever again, and all that time you spent on Facebook in comments sections dropping the 😆 emoji 649 times on anyone that said anything positive you could’ve been watching a TH-cam video on how to get a chick , so maybe you’d finally pop your cherry and you realize house fucking stupid. It is to act that way..
Blue Beetle did family better in 1 movie than all 10 of the Fast n Furious films. This was a very enjoyable experience and sadly I'd like to more the character and his world but probably never will
This movie was awesome! Great soundtrack, great acting, great characters, great villains, and great action. It's prob in my top 3 super hero movies of all time. I really loved it. As a Mexican American it might even be my favorite super hero movie ever. I loved that I didn't need to know any multi universe stuff, I'm so tired of that. It's nice to just have a great stand alone film. Go see this it's Awesome!

Alan Moore, who created the Watchmen, created the character Blue Beetle. Blue Beetle is in the Young Justice animated series and Batman Brave and Bold series animated series. This movie was ok but could have been better. The George Lopez was an OK character. The sister was annoying. I like the grandmother. Father was good. The main villain was OK. Susan Sarandon was a generic corporate villain. She reminded me of the villain from the old Helen Slater Supergirl movie. As someone that is half Mexican I am a little disappointed with the movie. I give it a C.
This iteration of the Blue Beetle, reminds me ALLOT of Guyver: The Bio-Boosted Armor, which is a HEINSOULY overlooked manga and anime series. (The live-action movies kinda suck, watch at your own risk).
I'm also very tired of the big, huge confusing universes. It can be overwhelming.
This is definitely on my must see list!

I had a great time watching this movie. Loved the 80’s vibe. So sad that the DC movies are not doing well seaport when they are good.

Susan Sarandon was a generic corporate villain. She reminded me of the villain from the old Helen Slater Supergirl movie. As someone that is half Mexican I am a little disappointed with the movie. I give it a C.

This iteration of the Blue Beetle, reminds me ALLOT of Guyver: The Bio-Boosted Armor, which is a HEINSOULY overlooked manga and anime series. (The live-action movies kinda suck, watch at your own risk).
For me I was excited to see a superhero movie with a Latino main character
