      I use a thunderbox under seat connected straight to battery, it detects when bike switches on and off on its own and use that to connect the sat nav and phone. I didn’t do a video sorry www.healtech-electronics.com/products/tb/

    I have the Garmin XT2 with extra features (Tread app route planning) and slightly bigger screen. Set mine up a few months back and love it. That mounting bar is superb. Also, I found that I didn’t want my music, or even phone messages popping up on the Nav screen so I disabled it. It has enough going on.
    I control music via Cardo direct to GPS, or Cardo direct to Phone. **I have found that trying to connect Cardo to my bike never works well, and also makes the volume much lower. I never have it connected to both at the same time. I just want the Nav to be the Nav. Simplicity is key for my set up.
    Bark busters are an essential bit of kit as well. Last thing I’d want to happen is a mishap, the bike fall and my controls are damage or destroyed. $100 is a small price to pay for that peace of mind.
    Safe travels

    I like my GPS off to the side. That center mount would drive me crazy especially going up and down with the screen. No thank you. For most short trips I use my B-Line Moto with my phone in my tank bag.

  • @Rob801
    @Rob801 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Picked up my bike Saturday and I’m already going down the accessory rabbit hole 😬😅. I went with the XC2… ordered the mount from Greece, arriving tomorrow, missed the bit with the shorter bar attachment initially, not available now on the EU store, but thankfully there were a few still in stock here in the US, so wasted no time ordering. If I were to somehow get separated from my bike (against expectations) over a mountain side, I want my phone on me, not my bike.
    I’m also finding I need/want gear more suited to ADV riding. My Neotech 2 is five years old now, and feeling kind of bulky/heavy, and my crappy Sena that was made for it stopped working a couple years ago, so need new comms… looking at a KLIM Krios Pro, and some other KLIM gear (potentially), but damn, it adds up fast.
    I bought most of the (imo) essential accessories from the dealer at a decent discount… black expedition panniers (and triumphs dry bags that fit them), clear plastic headlight guard, fork guard, swing arm protectors, and upper crash bars. My discount is good for 30 days so think I am going to pick up the TPMS as well and install on first tire change. I was about to buy the heated drivers seat as well when the dealer came up and said I get it for free (so that was at least 250 saved lol). Not crazy about top boxes, but if I do end up getting one down the road it will be a short one like you have.

    • @MOTOUK1
      @MOTOUK1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks 🙏 well I noticed when I took the Rally explorer from triumph to Switzerland last year that when looking form behind the bike the racks and boxed were not even each side. On more research I found that the Givi Dolomiti boxes and racks look more even and I prefer the rounded corners of the Dolomiti cases like my top box

    • @MOTOUK1
      @MOTOUK1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So I decided why not get the matching set. Having just come back from a eu trip on the tiger I can know say I’m really happy with this set up. I have inner bags that remove so I have no need to unclip the panniers when at hotels and leave them on the bike. I also prefer that they have carry handles over the others. 👍

    Morning Nick - Interesting to hear about the bar end weights you're planning to fit to reduce vibrations.
    I have a 2016 1200 XRX and at motorway speeds the mirrors vibrate to the point were they are completely useless.
    Do you think bar end weights may be the answer? May be worth a try. Thanks.

    • @MOTOUK1
      @MOTOUK1  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey 👋 I’m not sure but I have seen someone on a video state that the EVOtech bar end weights helped. Not that I notice really but I’ll pop them on the bike as can’t not help. I have used in past on other bikes I have owned and they helped

    I've been considering upgrading our Garmin 660's Love the high quality bright display of this but I have concerns about the unit. A friend has one that just doesn't seem to follow plotted routes. More concerning is that Simon Weir, travel writer and Garmin guru describes the unit as substandard on his Facebook page. He's switched back to his old unit.
