Damn! That was some awesome action! Especially at 14:44 mark.... That comment "I got my ass whooped" is as true as it gets... It's like running for your life fighting these fish... I've even seen these fish put a person in diabetic shock.... So heads up to everyone! This fishing is no joke....
How often do you replace your braid or at least cut off some of the lower portion? Looks like great action and fun had by all! Crew was positive and working together on that trip.
Jim if you are using 100lb braid there is not enough drag you can put on that reel to snap that line, many times I see after a tangle 1 or 2 strands of the 8 strand braid get cut and that is why you see your line get frayed. If you get into tangles you have to check your braid for breaks in the strands and cut it off, better to cut off the bad section and re-tie it with a connection knot than use a compromised line. I am glad you still got your limit though.
Man! Props to Graham and happy birthday! What an awesome fish. 🤙🏽🏆
to fly in then have your trip cancelled find a boat and land a 100# fish happy birthday!

@@cousinjim1 what size rip roller jig were you using?
@@MrKenwillis 300 gram 400 feels to heavy to me but I have 60# braid thinner so it drops faster

Thanks for the upload Jim…. You always give us solid content. Water temp please? Albacore may be moving in
sorry I don't know the temp, that will be amazing when the albacore move back down from northern California

apparently not often enough LOL Because I fish so much I replace it when issues arrive
Awesome videos. Can you show us how you rig your jigs? Crimp, leader, assists hooks, etc.

Great video Jim
What day did you go fishing ?
5/11 and 12
Nice trip Jim. Was that a reverse 1 1/2 day trip? The crew members weren’t filleting the fish?
whats a reverse trip?
they will fillet but you get a much better product with larger fish from the Processor
@@perhaps_not_ I wonder the same thing
@@cousinjim1 Teue but very pricey

Hey Jim! Thinking of booking this Friday on the tomahawk. What color and size jigs were getting bit?
300gm riproller color does not matter !
@@cousinjim1 thank you! Booked and heading out tomorrow

Were you fishing 80# braid that night?
it was either 60 or 65 I am moving up to 80 as the fish are bigger this year with a proper drag setting I believe I can catch a 300# on 60
Nice!
tight lines!
What pound test line are you using?

That was probably a flaw from a previous tangle Jim.
He seems to get in a lot of em.
@@michaelg752 Pretty hard not to tangle when everyone is straight up and down and the fish are circling at the boat.
probably but my drag was a little to tight when I checked it after losing the fish

Crazy how many guys don't follow their lines
you are right about that they learn once they hae hooked a big fish!
Get a sik set up with sik line
what is a sik set up?
Get more tackle Jim.
It will happen but you do not need much!

Combat fishing stand on the other guy to get your jig in the water I hate that type of fishing your packed in like a sardine
it was not that bad as the boat was drifting so you put in at the front and walked to the back
