Thanks for coming out Jim. Sorry about the slow fishing but I’m glad you got one though. We found a new zone about 20 miles east of there and had limits by 11pm the next night. Hopefully we slay them next time
Hey Jim, congratulations on the bft, you slayed him. Seaforth is like a resort compared to the other guys, I love it there. Also, I had always referred to flylining as meaning without any weight, but it's not a big deal...jigs dominate that fishery anyway. Tight lines
technically you are correct, but I started using a small sinker 1-3 oz and have been getting bite more than just strait fly line when they are on fire it makes no difference tight lines
Just a thought, the whole point of having a rail rod it to use the rail. When you get bit out the thing on the rail and crank. You’ll be less gassed and the fight will be brought up quickly.

Thank you Jim for another great fishing video. Tell us more about your way of line depth counting. That blue color is about 300 feet, then white spectra. Are they tied together with a knot? Or what ?
I marked the blue line with a felt marker at 100 and 200 feet the end of blue is 300' we are now getting bit at 400' plus so I will be marking my white line at 400 and 500' out them together 3 yrs ago so I do not remember what Knot I used
@@ahmadghanem2414 it is a good trip 1.5 is a little better in my opinion I think the Vendetta Wed 6/19 reverse 1 day Fishermans landing looks promising
You scored again CJ. The Highliner is the boat I wanted to book for a July overnight sir. Any thoughts? Btw I love the happy ending where you gave the precious filet away to the guys. So generous of you and thats is fishing all about.
Awesome video, can you do a video of how someone from out of state can do a trip like this. Are the rental rods heavy enough for jigging, do the fish processers package the fish for flights? I am from Florida and would like to do a trip like this.
Yeah buddy I took few trips there Seaforth... They r very helpful... Next door they cook... I'm a native san diego here com'on... If u need a tour on my native san diego, Let me know com'on... I also have friends who r very knowledgeable san diego native fisherman's com'on...😎
Mom…let me know when you have extra fish. I can go SD or Redlands. Let me ask. Were you using a 270 gram jig? Man you caught a lot of fish early in the BFT season. So that was a 1 day trip not a 1 1/2 day trip right?
Called a reverse 1 day trying to do it again on the Vendetta out of Fishermans Landing since the bite is at night you won't catch fish on a regular 1 day until the day bite starts tight lines
You have a good eye this reel has been loosening on the last few fish. I believe the drag washers are worn; I fish Thursday on the Pacific Dawn then Friday it goes to Okuma as it is still under warranty tight lines!
Good catch but for the love of God stop messing with your high and low gear the rules are when your line is straight out from the boat high gear when your line is underneath the boat low gear
That landing is dope. Boats are clean. Super professional. Tough to beat.
yes and the parking is great

@@cousinjim1 how do you like the reverse overnight ? Is it worth driving from City of Long Beach to San Diego for that , or a 1.5 is a better choice

I’m wondering if meals are included in the this trip
$12 breakfast $15 lunch $20 dinner
people didn't have to wait too long on the 65# braid, but that was a small model. captain let you know in not so many words!

somewhere around 300 I no longer remember tight lines
Shouldnt the chummers be at the front of the boat?
make sense to me tight lines
Cousin Jim, The term flyline is a hook only on the line and no weight. If you are using a weight you're not flylining.
you are right I should have said it differently
That guy with the split rig set up knows. That’s exactly what I do
Yeah if you’re not fishing like that your already losing 🤷🏻♂️
Nike is awesome.

Try the Polaris Supreme.
I will when a trip fits my schedule tight lines

As much as you fish Jim you should by a year Mex license $85. Make copies incase you leave one behind 👍
I think your drag was set too loose for that size fish.
