Wow, i have read the critics, but i never thaught, that i will see the duett with Hampson and Araiza. Thank you very much!!! Can you post more of this production?
LOL - what a show-off ending with the high C. And it looks sort of dated, but interestingly so. I guess it's the sparse sets and cool lighting. The singing's great. Actually, I'd very much love to see more clips from this production. Thanks for posting!
Hampson did seem more convincing as Rodrigo opposite Alagna. I remember the scene where he was begging king Carlos to have mercy on the Netherlands and I found him very moving. His duets with Alagna gave the impression of a strong friendship which despite Araiza’s efforts here did not come through. New to the role maybe? I don’t know the timeline.
Clearly the concept of Posa was totally different in the Zurich production by Niklolaus Lehnhoff: A strategist who unwaveringly follows his mission. And Carlo plays a calculated part in it. Posa acts here rather realistic than idealistic and Hampson broke with this approach only at the end revealing his emotions in the dying scene. Quite impactful!
Ottimi entrambi direi. 🤩👍
Due cantanti magnifici e molto versatili. Bello sentirli cantare insieme.

beautiful singing. And their long coats, so nice :)
Wow! Never heard that before. At least he nailed it

wow...a tree in the middle of the stage. how creative.
¡Sin palabras! 1000
masterpiece done by them
Not as much sheer chemistry as with Alagna but....AMAZING singing! And...well...HOT!!!!
so do I!

They both had the G4, but only the tenor went up to the C5. But what note did Thomas end off? Was it a D4?
Perhaps you didn't get it: it is supposed to be the grave of Carlo V.! Nothing else to comment?
Are there any more clips from this production?
Don't like it quite as much as the Chatelet production, in which Hampson also sings Posa...but good nevertheless
