Great inspo thank you for sharing, as for me I believe reading is not just enough". Take the action! Put your newfound knowledge to use. I read for a long time but Action made my life change in no time ( generally and mostly financially)
That's my two cents on this

I'm glad you included Dale Carnegie's book in your list. It has so much timeless wisdom on personal relationships. I first read it nearly 40 years ago, and it literally altered my ability in dealing with people for the better. Great list, btw, I'll be looking in to a few of those myself. Peace.

The quality of your videos has become phenomenal. It's amazing to see the progress you've made and continued pursuit of self education and life-long learning. One book I'd recommend that's changed my life is Atomic Habits by James Clear. Getting 1% better everyday has a compounding affect that WILL alter the course of your life. Thanks for the great content and please keep it up!

    • @Timithos

Just remember everything happens in waves of energy - electrical waves, magnetic waves, sound waves, waves waves, etc.. Your willpower is a wave and there will be crests and troughs. A 1% linear line of improvement does not exist in the universe but a trend line passing through waves trending upwards does.

I wish this was taught in our high schools. These life lessons apply to any field of endeavor. I was fortunate to have a college education, but I have always taken the position that college is not for everybody - there are many fields where it is not required - but the wisdom of these books will help you to get the level of success you want. A helpful video and encouraging. The books suggested by commentors are wonderful too. Good luck everybody acheiving your dreams.

That's not the role of school. The role of school is to train productive workers.
If you don't want to be a productive worker, other than some very specific jobs, like medicine or engineering, etc getting a degree isn't probably all that necessary (I have an MBA, btw)
If you want to be an entrepreneur or otherwise control your own time, cash flow, or life...being an employee is not a great strategy.

These all sound like great books - I haven't read any of them before (though of course I've heard of Dale Carnegie's book!). The book along these same lines that changed my own life was 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey - it explains some of the same themes you mentioned in this video (like urgency vs. importance) and really changed my thinking back when I was in my 20's. Great overview!

I really liked essentialism, it's helped me a lot to refraim my thinking
Atomic habits was really good too. Although I understand the science of why behind things so I would also recommend The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg to read as a complement to Atomic Habits.

I love my work. Four hours a week would have me suffering withdrawals. I get my daily hit from being in creative flow.
Ps. Richest man in Babylon was a game changer for me. What if I had read and grasped the principles thirty years ago? Everything in its perfect time. Need to read the How to Win Friends... that's collecting dust on the shelf. The One Thing sounds very much like Atomic Habits.

He ended up buying it for me which was easily one of my most enjoyable interactions I’ve had with anyone, ever. Highly recommend the book. I learned how to go through life care free with little worries from this book. It’s a fantastic story.

Mr. Bult, you may want to invest in a reclining workstation. The hours you spend editing are crushing your posture. Living bone actually remodels itself under pressure. What that means is your bones change shape permanently, so you'll have forward pressure until your chin is at your belt buckle

I was wondering is it too late once in your fifties to change and build a life that I can be proud of and happy ?

  • @Timithos

The One Thing by Gary Keller in my opinion is 3X better than Essentialism by Greg McKeown. I'd rather read a book by Marie Kondo. Keller had great points on covering the myths of multitasking, and becoming a master your skill or craft, time blocking, etc. etc.. Essentialism was definitely written for an office environment, and on a spectrum of entrepreneur to office employee it was definitely placed on the side of "icky". Checking my eReader I'm only 57% through Essentialism, before I had to drop it and read 5 other much better books. I'm hoping Greg left his best chapters on the later half the book, but I'm not too optimistic. As 3 other commenters have pointing out, Atomic Habits by James Clear would have been a WAY better choice for the "changed my life" badge.

I read how to win friends years ago and applied the principles. I didn't make friends or influence anyone. They just thought I was weird. I read rich dad, poor dad. That book was full of holes. I did the opposite of some of his advise and came out ahead. I read war of art and only came away with keep at it to develop your skill. That's just common sense. I read four hour work week. Seriously? Just outsource your work and kick back. Even if I could figure out how to do that, I have some deep ethical concerns. Haven't read the other two. Sorry to be negative but I just didn't like those books.

    • @Timithos

Less is more. More is less. I can not get my boomer parents to wrap their minds around this. Now they'll be heading into their seventies with nearly $100k in debt. I tried to tell them repeatedly not to take out a mortgage against their almost paid for house for renovations and build a barn. They wouldn't listen to me. Now they're complaining about the debt.

I’m not doubting that this is a great reading list, but would be good to see some more books by female authors. There are so many amazing books written by women but they rarely seem to make these lists. Is there some unconscious bias here I wonder? I’d recommend books by Brene brown, Caroline criado perez, Caroline Webb, dr Julie Smith, Mary Ann sieghart, Michelle Obama, Edith Eger as a starter for ten… I’m sure others will have more good recommendations!

Happy New Year Gabe! Enjoy your content and appreciate the book suggestions. I have read roughly half of them.
A recent book I have read and would recommend is Things that Matter by Joshua Becker.

Your parents thought you a lot, without you knowing it and without being book writer. Thanks them.

Live some of the points, apply some of the points, and execute some of the points. You don't need to remember when you're living it.

I’m a big fan of your videos. 👌 But you can’t put “changed my life” on every video title 😅😅😅

Great video! I just turned 23 and want to devote myself into becoming a millionaire by 30, I already have 80k saved, 65k lump sum following the death of my father and 15k in personal savings. So far ive come across dropshipping, stocks, and real estate as the most popular means of doing so but i was wondering if you have any suggestions, at this stage im just trying to learn about the most viable ways of achieving success within 10 years

If you get into investing, go beyond stocks. Invest in as many cheap asset classes as you can. Cheap as in buy low - record lows, but actually buy low instead of what most people don't do because they are too scared to buy low. So ETF Stocks, other stock markets than the U.S., bonds, REITs (Real Estate), precious metals, fossil fuels, agriculture, livestock, etc. Look at the WHOLE spectrum and keep buying the assets that go through RECORD lows, i.e. if Brent Crude Oil hits a 15 year low, that's probably a once or twice in a lifetime purchase opportunity. And great books are the Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel and Money: Master the Game by Tony Robbins.

No offense but I don’t like the new banner. Maybe you do but it’s too blah. Doesn’t send a strong statement about your channel.
