Seriously 😂 i used to hate my hair in elementary school cause i would get teased and i finally started using curl styling products in middle school to embrace what u had and by highschool (2009-2012) people starting complimenting me for my hair but around that time most girls were still straightening their hair. you didnt see many girls rocking natural curly hair until 2015/2016ish i would say.
Im one of those peeps that didn't know they had curly hair. My mother used to always blow dry my hair every day in a way which made it straight. Later on i noticed that my hair was kinda wavy so i stopped getting it blow dried. Very slowly over the years my curls gradually appeared and i realized that my hair was DAMAGED. My ends were so split and it looked frizzy, dry, dead and just horrible. Only now my hair is beginning to look better and i love my curls so much. They're not tight tight curls but they may or may not get tighter later on. I still don't know for sure if this is my hairs final form.
I should try this! I’ve been damaging my hair and only recently been able to see how much texture I have lately. It’s only wavy now but I get hints of a twist!

"What is he mixed with?" Girl no. My girls are mixed (I'm white and my husband is black) and our middle has DARK curls and medium skin and our youngest has blonde curls and light skin. You don't have to "look" a certain way to be mixed.
And you don’t have to be mixed to look a certain way, a lot of people think you have to be mixed or cant be white to have curls, waves, coils but the kids in my school would differ.
I am of arabic descent and my hair always looked poofy and kinda ugly. Until I realized all the curls and waves it had and STOPPED brushing it like I was a pony. I'm am slowly falling back in love with my hair, and videos like th is really help. Lots of love your way !

I have a wavy/curly combination since my head has both waves and pretty spirals. I'm glad more people love curls, I remember getting bullied a lot when I use to have my natural cute curls so I started straighting it as a kid and then as a teen also bleached it and now I'm on medication that makes my hair break and fall out a lot :/ Hopefully I can find a way to repair my hair after years of damaging it, I miss having my really nice curls.

Curly is used to describe things that are curved or spiral in shape(say most definitions) so even if you have really loose curls it’s still a curly. Some people just don’t get it~

This is one of those videos that get me frustrated in my own brain. My hair does the wildest shit. Ill have like some bits with full looping curls, some parts that are straighter than my mom wishes I was, parts that are just wavy, and parts that I swear just take a 90 degree turn and call it good. I've always taken care of it like it was straight (its all I've ever known) but I'm starting to think that maybe I should be trying to take care of it differently lol Also.. you're fun to watch! I’m half Native American and half white, but I look very white. Especially in the winter time when I haven’t seen any sunlight. But my brother looks fully native. 🤷🏻♀️
Another thing about some of these: my natural hair is about a 3b type, buut years and years of chemical products, bleach, dye, over-washing *and* frequent heat styling totally killed it to where it would appear straight while wet and even just lost its curl. However, after taking good care of it, the new growth is the same tight spirals that I used to have. Some people may not appear to have curls purely due to damage

When you have mad shrinkage and people who don’t seem to comprehend it say you have short hair even though when your hair is is wet or pulled down to its full length ,cause same.
There are SO MANY different types of curly hair! Like you can have curly hair pretty much no matter where in the world your genes originate and that's just crazy!
Don't skip Conditioner, and I suggest you avoid products heavy in silicones, as it may weigh down your curls. I have a loose curl pattern so I don't know much on how to manage natural hair, but the curly girl method has good advice for all forms of textured hair.

your not always gonna have color just beacuse ur mixed, so that kinda iritetade me, my whole family are mixed and 3 of the children ar all white without any collor and bright blue eyes. just beacuse u dont look like it doesent mean u arent!! its kinda iritating how people think mixed kids chould and shouldent look like.

I’m half Native American and half white, but I look very white. Especially in the winter time when I haven’t seen any sunlight. But my brother looks fully native. 🤷🏻♀️

Another thing about some of these: my natural hair is about a 3b type, buut years and years of chemical products, bleach, dye, over-washing *and* frequent heat styling totally killed it to where it would appear straight while wet and even just lost its curl. However, after taking good care of it, the new growth is the same tight spirals that I used to have. Some people may not appear to have curls purely due to damage

There are SO MANY different types of curly hair! Like you can have curly hair pretty much no matter where in the world your genes originate and that's just crazy!

Don't skip Conditioner, and I suggest you avoid products heavy in silicones, as it may weigh down your curls. I have a loose curl pattern so I don't know much on how to manage natural hair, but the curly girl method has good advice for all forms of textured hair.
