La Terra Promessa | Short Documentary Film

La Terra Promessa is a documentary comparing the stories of two Italians who immigrated to the United States in the 1960’s and 70’s, exploring their experiences, traumas, and hopes for how they will be remembered. Inspired by stories I would hear as a child, I documented these experiences my grandparents had thought they had forgotten. The film was accepted into the All American High School Film Festival, a small gratuity compared to the accomplishment of connecting my similar, yet, divided family. Despite the challenges of working on every aspect of production, I gained insight on my family’s struggles, making all the hard work worth the outcome.
