Think from using my own and all the tests I’ve seen so far with the Simplex this machine can run with the big boys. Makes me wonder if I should ask for a refund on my Deus and my Nox 800 but I must say I like my Simplex so far.
Deus could be even deeper if you ground balance it Fbs machines like safari are great for high conductors like silver coins But simplex is great for the price
@@clintyates837 The Simplex had the factory ground balance of 90. In other words, apart from full sensitivity, it was not ground balanced. GB usually ends up at 50 - 60 in most terrain. The standard setting is 90). With the iron audio adjusted and the actual ground balance, the Simplex will also go deeper (according to the manual). The Simplex was also in a basic mode. If Usain bolt raced a novice civvie, he wouldn't have to worry about his footwear. He wouldn't have to worry about a bad start, or complain about disadvantage. He would simply thrash the untrained person! The fact that it is so close suggests that the two "athletes" were in a similar league (within the constraints of that particular test). Similar enough to mean that the tweaks were perceived to make a difference... Is the Simplex better? I doubt it. I suspect that the Deus in the right hands will win in most situations, because it is not all about depth - there are many variables as you know. Even if the Simplex was "better", it wouldn't make the Deus "worse". It would create some serious dissonance in brand loyal owners though, of that I am certain. When people become defensive, they are rarely objective... The Deus is brilliant! It was a game changer like a legendary athlete. Someone younger always comes along and takes the crown eventually. I don't think that happened today, but it was a good fight!
Deus is not made to go deep.. It is a killer in iron.. finding stuff , deeper stuff in iron is hard. The safari is great , very reliable machine.. but the target id is definately behind the explorer and etrac.. less precise but the tones are very acurate in my experience.. The simplex is really good but its tones are so “ plastic “ i still cannt stand its tones but the thing is deep and aggressive 👍🏽
I cant wait to get mine monday. I'm blown away by the videos at the moment. I've had a 400i for 2 years cant wait to go back over the land I have with the simplex
I have a garret AT Pro a Deus and a Nox 800. I use them all. Mostly Deus and Nox. Each has its strong points so it like golf. You carry a full set of clubs.
Many thanks for subscribing to me guys more test to come very soon next one will be on this weekend's rally at our K Rallys look us up on Facebook we will do the test and let everyone test there machines against the simplex
@@josephbenge8707 Thank you! Yes I do like it. It's exactly what I want/need. I would buy it again 🙂 I didn't like the equinox. I wasn't impressed. Is it better? I'd say the simplex works better for me. Happy hunting!
We are having a group test tomorrow at our club meet K C Rallys we are on Facebook look us up where we are going to Bury a load of different targets and get everyone to try there machines out against the simplex will post up the video later on tomorrow
Considering you cranked the simplex to 11 and the rest on basic modes its not surprising it picked everything up. That said half those signal were jumping about and grunting on it, if you didn't know what was under the coil you wouldn't dig them. Try putting the Deus on deep mode and setting the safari up properly the results might not be so biased.
The simplex has been proven over and over to compete with and in a lot of cases out perform higher end detectors such as the deus, nox, garrett At series, etc..Sorry boys but you have to give nokta makro credit here for completely shocking the industry by introducing a detector that performs as high end with a low end price!
I've got several detectors including the deus and equinox 800 and several others, Personally I think the best detector is the one most understood by the person using it , But this test is hardly fair ,If you want to go deep with the deus put it in deep mode not basic, Some of these tests on here are a joke as some people are clueless on what they are doing .
, Safari has to be run flat out with zero discrimination slow recovery speed with at least a 15 inch +coil ! Deus hf coil at 30-50 kh recovery speed no higher than 2.5 . Simplex don't own one but for the money looks awesome ;-)
It is a fair video....the deus did not miss the targets and safari has a huge coil. I would like to see a recovery speed separation test with the same settings with a coin next to iron.
Keep in mind the Safari came out nearly 8 years ago so the tech is quite a bit older than the newer machines. Put the Equinox 800 up against it and would probably best them.
I’ve found hammered at 12” with my safari, sensitivity whacked up to 18 and discrimination opened up on conducive mode and trash density on high. Mustard machine just needs setting up and noise cancelling, why do you think they’ve been selling so many years and hard to come across on eBay. Just another biased video sorry lads
The numbers are secondary. If it's a half decent signal you dig it. Iffy signals are always worth a dig. Good machine for the money, waterproof too. But let's not get carried away eh chaps GL & HH on the next ✌️
Sort of. When you get into a messy area the numbers most certainly matter. Most of those were not digable targets in a rich target zone with a lot of high conductors. Get that machine in an iron bed full of bent nails or aluminum tabs and you'll be diggiing a lot of holes. That being said, I know my Kruzer isn't an ID master either but with proper ground balance and enough hours to pick up the machines little quirks it's certainly going to be a nice machine in it's price range.
Hmmm, all the machines were factory standard, apart from the Safari, which had an inappropriate coil fitted. I love to see the test run again, with the factory coil, make sure all machines were maxed out and ground balanced.. my mo:eh would be on the safari having the others for breakfast…
Why are the t2 results not included? Why is the Deus in basic mode and the Simplex on full sensitivity? Unfair test as far is i'm concerned. I think the Simplex is a nice machine but testing it this way does not make any sense at all.
I can see the point in the test but how many people run a basic program? A fairer test would be to have the people who use there chosen machine all the time to do the test. Just my opinion.
tbh simplex maybe get the depth but visual id is pointless and sound id i dont really know because we didnt had a test board with different target to heard the sound, maybe before doing test you should put a board with bad target and good target to hear the sound we should look for and to remember . What im pretty sure of tho is the sound of the deus never fail even with no id on land, the safary got the best id overall thank to the fbs multi simultaneous vlf. Conclusion , Depth is useless if you dont have a good id (either sound or visual) to go with it , nobody want to dig 50 cm hole to get a rubbish at the end.
Fbs and bbs detectors always air test bad, lifting the coil is not good test, I think safari set up correctly would hump all three, and there's a video on here of a 167 pound cscope cs1mx humping the deus
I bet my old Minelab Musketeer could keep up and maybe exceed these machines. Got it used for 250.00. Im through running after new machines. Find a well proven classic and stay with it.
Testing an XP Deus while set on its 'Basic' program against any other detector is meaningless. Thats like removing a spark plug from your car an expecting no loss of performance when you drive it. Your test is nothing more than a broken pencil........ pointless.
@@cfzone8685 I have both deus and simplex and I could tell you that deus is worth every penny. In most of cases I know what I am diging with it. Is it bronze, lead,aluminium... but with simplex it is hard to know. For example with simplex small bronze roman coin gives me number around 20-30 while larger sestertius gives me 90 and silver denarius 60. But with deus small roman coin gives me around 60-65 , sestertius around 80 and denarius 90. So intervals between same metals and alloys are smaller so it is easier to know what are you digging. And also deus has far better reactivity. Simplex has some great side features such as flashlight, vibration and it is waterprof. Simplex is the best in that price level. Deus is 3 times more expensive but in the long term it is worth that money.
Simplex on full set, but Deus even not ground balaced XD Deus on full set works very deep. This test is like racing dodge and ferrari but without engine haha
I just saw a man, who dont understand how to work with metaldetectors. About the Simplex, im not exited by this machine, there are slight sounds of iron in every hole, while absolutely clear tones are heard in Deus.
You did not mention the sensitivity of safari, also the program should be in all metal mode, and the trash on high.I beleive that safari with proper use is the top among these three detectors.
I've had loads of detectors over the years expensive mid range and cheap so i can say i know a bit about detecting not much about anything else though.. Last week a guy on my estate in Ipswich came knocking on my door as he knows i like detecting he offered me his 8 month old simplex and Garrett pro AT probe. As he doesn't use it or do eBay he offered both items for 150 so i bit his hand off plus he was desperate for cash and an unamed well known porn shop offered him 100 quid. Ipswich is a strange old town for it's size it's got a lot of problems so needed to see original receipt and he had it as didn't want anyone elses stuff. I have been using it in my ancient woodland permission between ipswich and colchester and the simplex has blown me away i will be keeping it and probe as it's to good to sell.
The Simplex was calling the most of them targets as 50/50 iron, what's so good about that? Throw some iron in the mix and it will call it 50/50 also, you'll be chasing shit targets all day ffs.
Why put the best machines in their worst settings pretty pointless exercise. I want to see the simplex competing with high end machines that are pushed to the limit. Like testing a mini against a Subaru but only allowed to drive at 50
Simplex, hmm, its the worst machine i have used, very poor test, this is not a good review, dont like the deus or the safari, but they can be tweaked to work on heavy polluted roman sites. , The simplex can not, this is not a shot at the nokta, its ok for beginners it falls down on low conductor s

Cheers lads, I won a simplex on the Southern Seekers raffle at the weekend so it's good to see that it does its job. Good back up machine to my Nox. 👍
Deus doesn't like air between the coil and target
I really thought the deus would wipe the field . The simplex is the baby of my arsenal but I wouldn't part with it .
Simplex, hole 1 - 100% non ferrous signal, hole 2-6 - 10% non ferrous signal 90% ferrous signal
Very very interesting results 👍
Well done test guys. Thanks for sharing the info and Gl and HH 😎👍👍
