Im a newbie in the world of Metal Detecting and just got myself a simplex + WiFi, out for the first time tomorrow, seems like I made the right choice, have watched quite a few different review vids on detectors and the simplex seems to be a fantastic bit of kit for the price beating nearly all of the more expensive brands and you can use it 3mtrs under water, what more could you ask for

Great test Sid but I think we've fallen into the ' how deep do'es it go' trap again when we all know it's the usability of a machine in difficult ground that produces the finds.
100% its more than just depth that counts on a machine... speed and as you say the ability to get in amongst the difficult conditions is a massive factor... still to test it in that sort of scenario but will get round to recovery tests asap....

Hello. May I ask for your opinion. I have a Makro racer 2 at the moment. I am thinking to sell it and get a Simplex. In Simplex I like that it's waterproof, rechargeable and has software updates. The Equinox and Deus are far superior detectors , has you would expect, the Deus on the test just does what it always does on deep targets and gives you a high reading, meaning the discrim is dire under 8” and you could be digging anything, the Equinox would have easily have most of the targets if used on Field 2 or Park 2, the Simplex when run over my iron tests was not great, it got about 6 out of 10 the Deus and Equinox gets all of the targets , the Simplex when pushed just gives false signals everywhere, you can’t tell one from another but I suppose that would come with practice, it’s difficult on a test bed you know what the targets are and where they are, most of the signals in the test you would never dig. That Simplex wiped the others out. One question, were you running the Nox 800 with the new updates, or the original software? I put update 2 onto mine last weekend, and yesterday went over a small patch I've done a couple of times, it pulled up three coppers, a small buckle, a button,, a glue tube, two bottle caps, a pull-tab, and the usual scrap bits, that it missed previously. I compared my multi cruiser equinox and Deus , was amazed at the depth of the cruiser until I Remove the target from the hole and with the cruiser I still had a strong signal only to discover when you set them up for maximum depth , they will read the hole with no target after it is filled in . To avoid this you need to make sure you run a positive ground balance and don't overdo it on the sensitivity setting . all 3 are good machines but if I could only have one the Deus would work best for me , not because it's any better , but is far more user-friendly when you are old and weak ..

Thanks for taking the time to do these Sid. I would have tested the Deus in the preset Deep mode though, I have found it excellent on harder deep targets. As for the N/M Simplex, clearly a superb machine for the money ! ATB MMMD
I have a couple of nagging questions. If the Simplex is selling for around $300.00 then the cost of manufacturing must be $100.00 - $150.00? So, where are they skimping to keep the price so low? Is it in the build or the electronics? They have to be cutting corners in the manufacturing process somewhere, in my opinion. Also, can the company survive selling metal detectors for $300.00 each? I have my doubts on that one. Seems like a bad business plan to me to bring out a detector that will compete with your higher end detectors at less than half the price.
My nagging question is, why have the other manufacturers been over charging for so long? Does anyone really think it costs $1,200+ to make a unit? Even factoring in labor ect it seems the profit margin is incredibility high to me.
Tbh the dues has never flagshipped as a deep machine anyway imo, the simplex is on a different level from what we see on these tests, but like everything there’s cons to having a machine that will detect deep, it makes you dig twice as deep for the same foil shit too! It’s a young mans game digging deep holes all day long. 😂😂😂
The simplex will be going into the top selling machine out there . . Not just for the Unbelievable price it's spanking other machines backsides . . Baaaa haaaaaaaa
Show me what the Simplex could do show me the ground balance show me pinpointing I really want to see that then I can make my mind up on buying one or two
Hi Sid what's the simplex+ like on separation etc my son wants one for his first detector I use AT Pro what you think about the at pro Compaid to the simplex+ cheers mat great video yet again
I don't use the Deus any longer, but I'd defo have dug the first coin signal. If you don't dig iffy signals with the Deus, you don't get the deep coins.
Good unbiased test I have a nox I know it performs and finds the goods the same as Deus users kno the Deus performs but the simplex looks great for the money 👍
@@englandshistory definitely all machines have there place , personally I really don't like the scratchy tones of the noktas, Deus, tecnetics, I like the flutey tones of the at pro and the equinox so for that reason I would stick to my nox because to me that is important I'm just glad there's a good mixture of really good machines out there to suit everybodys likes and needs👍
Great video and test, I for one would like to see it up against the leading beginner machine the Garrett Ace 250 seeing as that is the market it is up to contend with.
Told you(s) the Deus wouldn't fair much better :), Simplex won again, I would say it might be worth trying the nox in single frequency (10/15KHz) as the Simple is 12KHz?, even so I think the Simplex is going to sell well...
Gooday my fellow treasure hujter. I love your vlogs.. I wanetd to show my fellow treasure hunters some love. I saying hi all the way from South Africa 🇿🇦... Please keep making them they are awsome.
Nice honest video Sid. Ignore the beach trolls. The video was what it was, and anyone not liking it could always try making their own videos and seeing people's reactions to their efforts. There's more to a machine than just depth of course, but this was a depth test and seems pretty straight to me 👍 Keep up the good work Sid 👍👍👍
Well said! I have been searching YT for a week to see all comparisons before I purchased this unit. I don't have the funds to spend big $ and can only get one. I tried the AT max (sucked) tried the G2+ (also sucked) lost $ selling both. I do not want to do that again. Every test I have seen so far on the Simplex is outstanding against far more expensive machines. If people want to dis it make a video! I saw one video where they did everything they could to make their favorite unit out preform and failed. Admitting it, then saying they still would not have a Simplex. Oh well..
@@linr2870 there will probably be some scenarios where the extra features on top machines will out perform the simplex as it is only a "budget machine" but for the most part of detecting it is mega.... i havnt came across a scenario yet where its not coped well... i am looking to find some ground that is covered in nails ect and see how it copes there but for the price the simplex is WELL worth the money
@@linr2870 I honestly dont think there is a machine that offers so much for the money... telescopic stem, 11" dd coil, waterproof 3 meters, wireless headphones, ground balance, freq shift, software updates, vibration, 4 adjustable modes its deffo worth the money for sure.
wow !! that simplex looks like a dam good machine for the money.not long after buying the racer red and after watching this video im thinking of flogging it..cheers lads for the honest test video.
Uses the Simplex, hardly picks it up " THAT'S A DIGGER ", uses the DEUS and gets a good signal, but picks up possibly IRON ( doesn't change the khz to 4khz see if it is or go into deep mode ), " YOU WOULDN'T DIG THAT '. LOL
Neil if its real time and never knew the target was there a iron buzz wouldnt stop you.. it would have to give you a semj good signal to make you take a second look imo
This machine has been a long time coming,,, I always said the so called higher end machines were not worth that much money,,, big game changer now with the simplex,,, just received mine today,,, once the rain stops that’s it I am out there with pure raw detection power
trouble is on most land the nox is unusable running full sens and most of those tones ude never dig because to scratchy and numbers all over the shot personly that would be just digging iron all day long on that tone, most nox users wouldnt dig numbers bouncing that bad..but that nokta is what it is same as the racer mk2 makro built the best and third of price lol
The video is a bit old but I think the subject continues, and will continue to be strong. The Deus played with many disadvantages, such as the lack of its 34x28 cm coil. Also you do not "cancel" the effect of the ground with the option "expert" in ground balance. Not to mention that the correct program with its proper settings was missing. Even so! is an excellent video worth sharing, for further discussion.
It was an eye opening test for sure... but it was just a test on that day in those conditions... will vary everytime test is redone.... but what impressed me on this test was the lack of having to mess with settings to get very good performance from the simplex... yes after scratching my head for a while and messing with settings im sure i could of scraped a better result for nox and deus... but to be fair to simplex it did well on the day
I always found the simplex to be real noise. Had a garret 400i b4.just upgraded it to the nox.iv not realy gone out there and had a go with it yet but it got stuff in my garden were the garret and simplex would not go due to all the nails in the ground.
Simplex on the same level as Equinox, and even better than my beloved Deus, that is more than very good for a detector in the 300 € range! I also got my Simplex three days ago and already compared it with my Deus, the Simplex is really very good and absolutely does not need to hide behind the high-priced detectors, on the contrary, it can learn to fear these detectors!
Well Sid, I think you survived that with ass in tact! 😂 Good test mate, it was what it was, no more no less. The machine clearly provides good performance, and simple useability at a fantastic price. Well done Nokta/Makro, looking forward to receiving mine when I get back off my hols.👍
Great video I'm getting one this weekend. My brand new vanquish is in the shop being repaired only one month old. Minelab customer service is shady at best. Great video and channel. Love to swap subs not that U need it..😅
Great vid Sid,Looks a very capable machine, all for under £300! My only worry with it is the dreaded coke, I've got fields full of the stuff. Very tempted though as a backup machine
Thanks Sid, new subscriber here, really enjoy your videos, professional quality with a natural feel and find myself laughing with many of the participants. Ok, unfair question ...but if you where to run to and grab just one detector from the above test which one would you take with you.
At £299 the Simplex performance with the build quality and the screen/settings etc I can’t see how the Garrett Ace Range will survive in the UK. Why would you buy an Ace 300i or 400i when you can get a Simplex.
CripNchill ill need about 500 machines to keep up with everyones test requests... i recon again there would be very little between the simplex and anfibio
I have a Simplex, it's a fabulous little machine. I would say it was clearly the winner of that test as you didn't alter it once from its original setting. The others you had to tweak and mess around with. I nearly bought an Equinox 800, so glad I didn't now.
Its all about how a dig-gable signal is defined on the test the Deus makes a noise whilst going over a target, this is 'not a signal we would dig we are told, i would not dig it either, but it could be something (and in this case was) all the detector is telling us is that there is a piece of metal down there but the detector is unsure what it is, so it gives a mixed signal, deus owners just go back and dig some of the signals you have rejected you will be surprised what you are leaving in the ground, all detectors do this, that is what is happening in the video test the Simplex is telling you there is a piece of metal down there but it does not know whether it is ferrous or non ferrous, it is not a clear signal you are hearing but a non descriptive grunt, this you will get every 2 yards as you detect.
Should you not ground balance the deus and when you turn it on keep the coil pointed up. Just things I have been told to do before starting to detect. And also spin round 3 times and touch your nose then your toes or was it toes then nose. 🤣👍 Great videos and I appreciate what you are doing keep up the good work
Good video Sid, and yes i am a Nox user and ex Etrac user...The Nokta seems very capable no nonsense machine, for £300 i'll get one to see what my Nox has missed......Blackadder
Tone Break - can you give me your settings for field 2 please? I followed a video and the settings they gave me totally ruined field 2. Best regards, Scott
EnglandsHistory - As Tone Break says ALWAYS noise cancel, i noise cancel with every new field I go to and it makes a difference Honestly and I’m not ground balancing. My good friend set up field 1 for me after settings I followed from a video absolutely ruined my field 2
Actually I concur with Sid, I never noise cancel unless its unstable then i will manually adjust using the plus and minus buttons. I ALWAYS GB though. I would say that not searching in all metal is something i wouldn't recommend as it seems to amplify Iron falsing and would also like to know what the Iron Bias setting was on the Equinox when the test was done. All in all though it does show the Simplex to be a damn fine machine for coins in polythene bags and jam jars :-)
Why is everything always about depth? Recovery speed is god in metal detecting, target separation on ancient sites, the Deus would piss over most machines on contaminated mineralised sites, you don’t need depth. After over 30 years one thing l know is depth isn’t everything. Why this obsession with it is beyond me, see the Norfolk wolfs recovery speed test videos.
these tests are always about depth but never target id, recovery or separation, whilst the simplex is deeper it isnt as good as the deus and nox in the other more important areas, you wil dig far more iron with the simplex but for the money its a great starter machine
The only way to fair test the machines is to do it like xp gary did with the new x35 coil undisturbed soil finds put in from the side this reminds me off the blisstool test.
I detected 5 months with the Makro Anfibio. My opinion is that it did find some deeper targets in wet ground. But missed an awful lot of the smaller stuff. I sold the machine when I realized this. Bought the Nox 800 and was absolutely inpressed finally finding the good stuff again that I missed with the Anfibio. For me no Simplex or Anfibio ever again. Fair enough more bucks more machine...of course no offense to beginners the Simplex can satisfy to start the wonderful hobby

@@englandshistory I agree
Tbh the dues has never flagshipped as a deep machine anyway imo, the simplex is on a different level from what we see on these tests, but like everything there’s cons to having a machine that will detect deep, it makes you dig twice as deep for the same foil shit too! It’s a young mans game digging deep holes all day long. 😂😂😂
Dug by a Pug just turn sensitivity down 🤪👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
The simplex will be going into the top selling machine out there . . Not just for the Unbelievable price it's spanking other machines backsides . . Baaaa haaaaaaaa
Show me what the Simplex could do show me the ground balance show me pinpointing I really want to see that then I can make my mind up on buying one or two
Greetings from the coal region of Pennsylvania, great video brother, you bring Clive with on any of these videos?
Hi Sid what's the simplex+ like on separation etc my son wants one for his first detector I use AT Pro what you think about the at pro Compaid to the simplex+ cheers mat great video yet again
Andy Rowley its hard to say after only a few days with it... so far seems a very capable machine
Its terrible
I don't use the Deus any longer, but I'd defo have dug the first coin signal. If you don't dig iffy signals with the Deus, you don't get the deep coins.
I don't like the Deus a all !
Good unbiased test I have a nox I know it performs and finds the goods the same as Deus users kno the Deus performs but the simplex looks great for the money 👍
yes there both tried and tested and find the goodies, the simplex just looks another good machine for a very good price
43 people own 1 or 2 of the detectors in this video (and the Simplex isn't one of them)
Great video and test, I for one would like to see it up against the leading beginner machine the Garrett Ace 250 seeing as that is the market it is up to contend with.
Told you(s) the Deus wouldn't fair much better :), Simplex won again, I would say it might be worth trying the nox in single frequency (10/15KHz) as the Simple is 12KHz?, even so I think the Simplex is going to sell well...
Can you pin point with the Simplex?
Gooday my fellow treasure hujter. I love your vlogs.. I wanetd to show my fellow treasure hunters some love. I saying hi all the way from South Africa 🇿🇦... Please keep making them they are awsome.
The South African Magnet Fisher hello matey thanks for sending the love 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟 plenty more videos coming pal 👍🏼👍🏼
Nice vid sid you won’t please everyone but for 299 you’ve just got to say wow
Nice honest video Sid. Ignore the beach trolls. The video was what it was, and anyone not liking it could always try making their own videos and seeing people's reactions to their efforts.
There's more to a machine than just depth of course, but this was a depth test and seems pretty straight to me 👍
Keep up the good work Sid 👍👍👍
mark just a real view of how i seen things and like you say lets see other peoples vids on the simplex and i bet similar results happen
@@englandshistory I am always open to new tests and sure welcome them. I only want the best I can afford as most of us do. :)
6 dislikes, don't suppose these are the NOX brigade :))))))
I did not see you ground bal the simplex must be ground balanced to get max depth iv noticed
I never saw you ground balance the Simplex?
trouble is on most land the nox is unusable running full sens and most of those tones ude never dig because to scratchy and numbers all over the shot personly that would be just digging iron all day long on that tone, most nox users wouldnt dig numbers bouncing that bad..but that nokta is what it is same as the racer mk2 makro built the best and third of price lol
It was an eye opening test for sure... but it was just a test on that day in those conditions... will vary everytime test is redone.... but what impressed me on this test was the lack of having to mess with settings to get very good performance from the simplex... yes after scratching my head for a while and messing with settings im sure i could of scraped a better result for nox and deus... but to be fair to simplex it did well on the day
@@englandshistory Exact. I agree with you. Thanks for answering.
I always found the simplex to be real noise. Had a garret 400i b4.just upgraded it to the nox.iv not realy gone out there and had a go with it yet but it got stuff in my garden were the garret and simplex would not go due to all the nails in the ground.
tom edwards the nox is a beast mate
I think the simplex is good just dont think it can cope with it's own power lol
Simplex on the same level as Equinox, and even better than my beloved Deus, that is more than very good for a detector in the 300 € range! I also got my Simplex three days ago and already compared it with my Deus, the Simplex is really very good and absolutely does not need to hide behind the high-priced detectors, on the contrary, it can learn to fear these detectors!
Well Sid, I think you survived that with ass in tact! 😂 Good test mate, it was what it was, no more no less. The machine clearly provides good performance, and simple useability at a fantastic price.
Well done Nokta/Makro, looking forward to receiving mine when I get back off my hols.👍
hi sid ...great video ...does the simplex have MULTY FREQUENCY ??????? OR SINGLE ...???
Single frequency
@@englandshistory thanks mate
Great video I'm getting one this weekend. My brand new vanquish is in the shop being repaired only one month old. Minelab customer service is shady at best. Great video and channel. Love to swap subs not that U need it..😅
Great to see the cheap Simplex rule here 😂. I've compared it with the AT max, and i must say.... Simplex nearly topped the AT Max
Of course it would. The Deus and Nox are much better machines than the AT Max.
D rifle well at the minute i mainly use the deus...
Thanks Sid for your reply.
Brilliant vid loved reading the comments they have made me laugh (off you pop) 😂😂😂
Keep up the good work looking forward to your next vid 👍🏻
Why didn't you ground ballance the Simplex and the Equinox before the test?
Great vid Sid ate keep them comin congrats on that Saxon find 👍👍👍 look forward to your next vid
At £299 the Simplex performance with the build quality and the screen/settings etc I can’t see how the Garrett Ace Range will survive in the UK. Why would you buy an Ace 300i or 400i when you can get a Simplex.
Being looking at the garret at pro how would it stand up to these 3 machines ? It might make me rethink getting it all comments welcome thanks 👍
Yup think Garretts buggered now, what’s simplex like on the beach, my red Racer was like an old chatty housewife I know Garretts are the same
I had an at max it was terrible and couldn't do what I saw in that video.
And why isn't there a Anfibio to compare too?🤔
CripNchill ill need about 500 machines to keep up with everyones test requests... i recon again there would be very little between the simplex and anfibio
Simplex power 🇹🇷🇹🇷
herpe simplex
nothing to do with turkey but ok
Oust....
Haci simplex dahami iyi yoksa Xperia deusmu??
@Abdurrahim BAYRAM teo emmi kim gardaş
Oh my, wires ? Didnt realise detectors still came with them. Whats it all held together with, iron rivets ?.... lol
I put my order in for one when it gets to the States
Simplex good md?
Should you not ground balance the deus and when you turn it on keep the coil pointed up. Just things I have been told to do before starting to detect. And also spin round 3 times and touch your nose then your toes or was it toes then nose. 🤣👍
Great videos and I appreciate what you are doing keep up the good work
Newbie here ( oldie)ooking for a machine between 3-900 notes. IME now sold on the simplex. See you on news at ten. Lol. Thanks for the review!!
Good video Sid, and yes i am a Nox user and ex Etrac user...The Nokta seems very capable no nonsense machine, for £300 i'll get one to see what my Nox has missed......Blackadder
I am just after buying a new Simplex love it. ✌️ Peace from the Republic of Ireland 🇮🇪.
Hello from Malaysia...i love this video...
Equinox and deus users are having a heart attack!!! Lol!!!
No, anfibio owners are having a heart attack maximum, if true this :)
@Tone Break just like equinox hype when it came out
@Tone Break well lets wait what simplex finds , im sure amazing things are waiting for us!!! :)
Looking forward to the new Simplex update which will no doubt improve the machine further. plus, three new coils are being released too.
Who makes the Deus detectors?
Surprising. Thanks for sharing! 👍🏻
Never noise cancelled the nox, first thing you do man I know that and I’m a numpty :D
The Rhins Ranger only need to noise cancel if its not stable and it was stable
Tone Break - can you give me your settings for field 2 please? I followed a video and the settings they gave me totally ruined field 2. Best regards, Scott
EnglandsHistory - As Tone Break says ALWAYS noise cancel, i noise cancel with every new field I go to and it makes a difference
Honestly and I’m not ground balancing.
@Tone Break gold modes are the deepest
Why is everything always about depth? Recovery speed is god in metal detecting, target separation on ancient sites, the Deus would piss over most machines on contaminated mineralised sites, you don’t need depth. After over 30 years one thing l know is depth isn’t everything. Why this obsession with it is beyond me, see the Norfolk wolfs recovery speed test videos.
Thank you good sir for a actual honest review you sir have character and I subscribed for that very reason.
Cheers buddy, welcome to the channel 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Excellent honest test thanks Sid
these tests are always about depth but never target id, recovery or separation, whilst the simplex is deeper it isnt as good as the deus and nox in the other more important areas, you wil dig far more iron with the simplex but for the money its a great starter machine
Makes me even more excited for my simplex to arrive!
multi needs to be a balanced signal you can't just turn it up.
The only way to fair test the machines is to do it like xp gary did with the new x35 coil undisturbed soil finds put in from the side this reminds me off the blisstool test.
also who run the nox with disc.
