    So honored to be featured! Even more thankful that you make the Nexus series ECUs. This car would have blown up a long time ago with how I rapidly prototype while traveling in uncharted territory.

    I like how he put emphasis on data accuracy, steady voltage, and wire insulation. Stomping on thin ice knowing how many it takes for it to break is how u set records.

    • @RobDahm
      @RobDahm ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Im so glad you point that out. I get very uncomfortable when i cant trust the data. Im already over my head whenever im doing something new, i need the computer to tell me exactly what happened. The worst thing you can do is beat the shit out of your car, download the logs, and realize you cant use any of the data because your sensors were failing or you didnt wire it right.

    • @71001L
      @71001L ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RobDahm may I ask what is the number one or in other words "most important" readings you check first or keep an eye on before adjusting other stuff on the ESP software? Let's say if you add/change a sensor or injectors vs. when you're simply checking up on the settings. Thanks

    The sheer joy he gets while doing these builds is why I have been watching Rotary Jesus for years.
    I'm not even a huge rotary fan... I just like Rob Dahm.

  • @andersjjensen
    @andersjjensen ปีที่แล้ว +153

    I love how unpretentious Rob is. He knows he's not gods gift to the build scene and he refuses to pretend otherwise. And yet, after all these years, and all these headaches, he has a wicket cool car and the naysayers are still angry-typing but secretly wishing they'd just accepted less than perfection in exchange for a learning experience.

    • @MrPanaramuh
      @MrPanaramuh ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. This exactly. Rob has always been like this and I think that's why most have loved him. He knows he's not perfect. He shows his mistakes. I think of Rob as the Steve Morris of the rotor world where he should honestly steal Steve's concept of a trigger warning before the video plays that you might learn something watching his videos.

  • @Gunnutt
    @Gunnutt ปีที่แล้ว +11

    And that's the amazing thing about Rob Dahm: an IT engineer that tought everything you see on his TH-cam channel himself. Systematic learning, step by step, see what works and what not, if something blows up understand the why. And learn how to do precise CNC machining out of necessity. And casually evolving the rotary engine. Aaaaaand taking the time & effort running a TH-cam channel to let other people learn about this stuff as well... 😎👍
    And if that wasn't enough: in March 2023 he was trusted by Tyson Garvin to make his unique 12-rotor raceboat engine run - because Tyson never saw the full potential due to the limits of the fuelling system. Rob and Tyson are mad scientists with crazy ideas - and we love that! 😁🤟

At any rate I am almost ready to set the tdc offset in my elite2500 in my single turbo fox. You’ll be happy to hear, oem dash. All gauges work. All functions work except ac. @haltech great vid with one of my very few heros, Rob Dahm, in this car scene when it comes to building a custom performance vehicle from the ground up. The only real important thing i thought was missing from this video was probably Scotty "Tuning fork" to conduct the interview for a more immersive and in depth look into the technology, plus Scott is one of the nicest guys on TH-cam and I believe wouldve been able to help Rob really dive deep into some more of the info that I, myself, was wanting so sure there would be more. Great video though, not here hating, just sharing my opinion with you all. Saving up right now for an R3 to run my classic Aussie Torana with all the good bits. Cheers 🇦🇺👏👏🤙😊

I dont want to come off as a know it all or a hole but, i feel all of that can be cleaned up alot. love the content and love the build as a whole.
