@@Stuka87 1.0/1.3 and 2.7 EBs have always been wet belt and 3.5L made the switch to wet belt last year. We've seen failures as low as 60k miles in the 2.7L for a part that is rated for a "lifetime". I doubt anything is going to change with the 3.5L

I’m a BMW guy, but I’m an 80s kid, so I love these boxier boy racer era cars. Only gripe I have is they did all that work and they couldn’t get Recaro to delete the back rest releases and give it a cleaner look. Other than that awesome and impressive build.
dude one of the coolest builds that was at SEMA. it should have gotten away more attention than the decent amount it got. this is what people ought to be doing with all the awesome power trains sitting in scrapyards for people totaling them. then the w201 is a 500,000 mile car and there are as many of these as VW beetles(not really but making a point) this was somebodies dream of just mating the coolest stuff together that no one would think of. now that's a car guy, hot rodder or tune. out-fucking-standing build sir!!! just weapons grade epicness!!! cheers
The 190e was my first car back in late 90s. Full body kit, 10 spoke wheels, custom audio. It was such a head turner. I spent more on repairs tho vs cost of the actual car
I’ve seen a lot of builds over the years (growing up my parents had a GM dealership but we also had a body shop w/a guy who did a lot of custom stuff, so I’ve been in the world for a long time) and I am incredibly impressed by the build. It’s so clean and period correct looking. I’m blown away. I haven’t thought about it until it was said here but the ford 3.5 eco boost can easily be the new “LS swap”. They are good compact engines with a few basic modifications.
That head unit is a purpose built old/new unit sent to blaupunkt for recon with legit new Bluetooth 5 to retain the quality stock look in a retrofit. Not cheap

I LOVE this car. I mean it has everything I would put in it installed. Keeping it look kinda factory was key to this amazing build. The little things he did make this one of the best builds I've seen in a while. I would love to see this in person.
Saw this baby & got one of his placards at Lime Rock Park. Fit n finish was so nice. I thought it had a Coyote from a distance. Had some killer time attack builds around it & looked totally fine.

That 3.5 "cyclone" engine from the Fusion Sport isn't really at all related to the 3.5 EB. Although the cyclone 3.5 is a wonderfully reliable engine and was great in the Fusion.

You got the lower version of the OG Blaupunkt in ford's we had three or four laying around in the garage at home One took a nose dive into a tub of old engine oil, and still worked!!! Not a good idea but hell live for the minute
@@lewie hmmm not sure about that. IMO the 190 looks perfectly proportion because of the original intent to be a 4dr. (The e30 on the other hand looks off as a 4 door because the original intent to be a coupe, the spiritual successor of the e21. And if memory serves me right the 4dr was an afterthought to meet market demand to compete with the 190e; and Audi 4000; 80.
The 190E AMG version was my dream car in high school. My uncle was supposed to gift me one as a graduation gift but he had to suddenly go overseas for work and never got around to it.
man, this is so cool. the 190E Evo2 is my favorite Mercedes, so i love the nods to the DTM legend. the addition of the Ford Ecoboost V6 is a sick touch. they *love* more boost.
Super sweet car! These cars were already old and disappearing when i was just getting to Junior high school. I can't imagine how hard it is to source all the OEM body panels, lamps and interior pieces to make this thing correctly. I would have liked to known if all the gauges worked, what he did for the fuel tank and system and seen pics of the underbody to show how easy or hard it was to make them work. Great job, it's one of those cars from your past that you're happy to see again 💪😎🏆
Amazing build. I had a 16v version of this car (non EVO but still Cosworth) which came with slightly more conservative wing and spoilers but at the time it was the largest wing ever placed on a street car. I miss that car!
@@grantcapel9884 The M113 might be too big for the 190's engine bay. The M104 would probably cut it close, but the M272 should be a good fit. That being said, any Mercedes engine that could fit in the 190E will always be better than a Mazda engine, even if it's turbocharged. I've always believed that putting an engine of the same brand into a car is the only correct way to perform an engine swap, and to hell with those Ferrari K24 conversions.
Instantly recognized the "factory" Blaupunkt radio. The 3D Printed console goes so hard. This whole build is absolutely insane, the motor the custom Recaro interior. I really like the understated parts & besides the body kit, you have to look under the hood to know what's really going on.
See this at Sema last year, and it was truly astonishing. I am hopefully going to be building mine soon. Just got my sport line, looks like I might be going to them to talk about doing the work :D
I’m on my 2nd gen2 Raptor, 80k miles on my 2020, I’ve always been a. Gm guy but the 3.5HO is a GREAT & SPECIAL engine-. Shares more in common w/ the ford GT motor than the standard 3.5EB, the HO has fully forged internals, it can make huge power & is such a great engine
My best friend and I made it from monument Colorado to Colorado Springs in the same amount of time that Slipknots “wait and bleed played” on his system. Just under 3 minutes…on highway 83 in Colorado. 190e 2.3 16v with the dogleg 5spd. There were MANY MANY nights we could’ve died in that car. Young and dumb…but they were the absolute BEST of times. If you know that stretch of road, you know how fast that was. At least we got our 3 rolled tacos and breakfast burritos at 4am from Albertacos😆
I think that motor sounds sooo right for that car. And I love the Stang shock towers and tubing. I don't rlly like many Mercs but this one in particular is def at the top of the list of the ones I do like lol. Might as well call it a Ford GT powered Merc lol. Sweet build.
Amazing piece of intelligent engineering. Use of parts that are available and reliable --- TKX mated to a Ford 3.5 and Subbie rear end - can't go wrong and its maintainable. Perfect "resto-mod" for the rest of us --- unlike the unattainable coach builds ...
hell yeah 4 seats and a trunk. probably fairly light/not insane on gas. old school mb build quality/comfort. all the little touches on the interior to keep it as close to period as possible. time machine/rocket ship

@@ExileXCross I know several people with close to, and in one case over 200k miles on a 3.5EB. Also, the 3.5L uses a gear driven oil pump.

I had a 2012 Ford Fusion with the 3.5L v6 and for being a stock engine it was fun to drive, can only imagine how fun that raptor engine is

I think my favorite thing about the whole build is that he kept the MB hood latch and the hood release that pops out from the Star on the grille.
