Thom Bell was a genius who orchestrated and ushered in the lush sounds of the 'sweet soul music' era...and that brother was fine!! Too many beautiful songs in his catalog to name a favorite. Continue to Rest In Power ❤
RIP Thom Bell and thank you for the unforgettable music.
Thom Bell, without question, is one of the greatest music producers to come out of Philly. And all of his work has stood the test of time. And the songs that he wrote and produced with Linda Creed are the cream of the crop!
Thom Bell was the man, he had so much music, I can’t even choose. I will definitely make the best of Thom Bell and put it on my playlist. May Mr. Bell be Resting In Peace 💐💐💐💐
Thom Bell was a great arranger & producer but credit for the lyrics to the Ojays song, The backstabbers, belongs to Gene Mcfadden, John Whitehead and Leon Huff.
Favorite song... That's rough. This guy has the smoothest sound out of most 60's to 90's sound.
It's Gonna Take A Miracle & Silly are fabulous Productions. So is "Didn't I Blow Your Mind This Time"
But he has hits on hits on hits.... One of my favorite Arrangers/Producers of All Time
I have ALL the music that Tom Bell produced for various groups. RIP Tom. You were awesome.
His arrangements are other-worldly.
Listen to “People Make the World Go ‘Round”, “You”ll Never Get to Heaven…”…the strings and marimba are so choice!
Too many songs to pick a favorite. For real.
Thom Bell is one of the greatest songwriters of his generation. R.I.P. you definitely left your mark on soul music. Much love.
HIM!!!!!!!! TOO MANY HITS TO LIST, THIS TIME!!!!!!!!!!!
Philly Soul was the sound of the 1970s along with the Hi Memphis sound. In the 1960s the Motown sound along with the Stax soul sound was dominating. Keep them coming man
Thom Bell was a gifted and talented writer. Loved those classic songs he wrote for the Stylistics. Some of my other favorite songs he wrote and or produced were:
La La Means I Love You,
Backstabbers, Rubberband Man,
Old Friend, and many many more. Didn't know he wrote I Don't Have The Heart, a favorite cut that James Ingram sang. It's hard to say who was the best writer and producer of Philadelphia Soul. Why? Thom Bell, Linda Creed, Gamble and Huff as well as others each brought their own flavor and style. They helped create the now classic music which came to known as "The Sound of Philadelphia."
A genius in his own right. RIP TB
Bell was very creative.
He should've been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Gamble and Huff

People talk about Motown. For me, the Philly sound was the one.
I guessed correctly ❤️🔥
All, but my favorite " something for nothing"
Thom Bell was a Bad Man
This is the first American i've heard speaks the truth of where Thom Bell was born [Kingston Jamaica] they seem to think a great musician like Bell must be American, but they should also realize that Bob Marley was also Jamaican..
@@audleymclean3724 Born in Jamaica, RAISED in Philadelphia. Big difference...
So what ! He wrote and produced great music.
@@TonySummerz..... BORN IN Jamaica, grew up in Philly, difference? with Jamaican Parents, His mother was a classical music pundit from her life in Jamaica, so his music ability was not of Philly, Opportunity? yes!!! Marley Born IN Jamaica grew up in JAMAICA, WHO'S MORE POPULAR? worldwide.
Love your content! I'm quite the music history buff myself. Keep up the amazing work
Best producers were Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff.
And Curtis Mayfield, Nile Rogers.

Let's do Teddy Pendergrass Story
It's been already done
@@itsmythang4177 Okay
Didn't he produced Blue Magic?
No Tommy did not get credit for working with Blue Magic. The late Norman Harris, and Vince Montana Jr., did most of the arranging, with the late Bobby Eli, Vinnie Barrett, and Ted "The Wizard" Mills, writing most of their hits.
@@riorich , you’re correct about this but most importantly Blue Magic said the DELFONICS original member “Randy Cain “ is the man that put them together and worked with them !!!
@ That is correct, Randy Cain was the one who hooked up Blue Magic.
@@riorich , 👍👍👍
