Check out project Blinky! AWD gt4celica in a mini & the engineering is insane The Pom that owns & built it is a nutter! Shows pretty funny at times too 😅
That's the thing about engineers - they're typically car enthusiasts too, and if you come to them with a good idea and aren't a fucking dickhead, they will work with you to help you get the vehicle built and on the road.
Humble is the way to go; more respect, better appreciation and actually lets the products and creations speak for themselves 💯🙌🏼🙏🏼🙌🏼💯 it is a lost character indeed, and hes got it
" the statement this is probably one of the wildest minis in Australia" Is an understatement.. This is probably one of wildest minis in the world for sure
Ive watched a lot of these stories over the years and usually you get the idea a skip forward quite a bit, this one though is the first story i watched from start to finish, hats off to the guy, his engineer and you guys for showing us this build.
Two rally legends have been combined into one. This just goes to show that it is possible to take a car that is already guaranteed to put a smile on ya dial and have it put an even bigger smile on ya dial. My dream car is a MINI
Such an impressive build, Even if a big company did this it would of been impressive but to thing a bloke in his garage did this is even more impressive. 100/10
I cannot express just how trippy it is to be kicking back relaxing watching your favourite YT channels latest episode when suddenly you see your own backyard and familiar roads you drive every day in the video! Tell me I'm wrong - Static shots were out the back of Adairs Warehouse Staff Carpark End of Elmdon Rd Caribbean Gardens Scoresby. Twisty Road test was on Stintons / Falconer Rd Park Orchards yep? 😊
What a epic little car with original thinking and out side the box thinking (pun not intended). Defo more interesting than another v-tec. Nicely done & in his own garage. 😎😎👊👊👍👍✌✌👌👌 massive respect 4 this frm the UK 😎😎
Proper custom street machine there, that's amazing. I wouldnt have done it but I love the craftsmanship. Huge effort, well done. And it took less than a decade unlike Binky! Speaking of which, would loce to see this have a go against Binky!
Got to see the car at Optima Ultimate Street Car at Calder Park today. Didn't get to congratulate the owner there so giving props here. This thing is an engineering wonder. So clean and intelligently thought out. Congrats to you and your Engineer. Hope you enjoyed your day on the track.
That's fricken awesome. Not my cup of tea in terms of the car, but the engineering, body work, and just general well thought out ideas are exactly my cup of tea! Bravo!
It's BS legislation until something poorly engineered causes a crash on the roads mate, there's engineers in my family and it's important to do things right.
i ran into this on the weekend at highball, funnily enough it gets recommended to me now. incredibly well built, incredibly clean, incredibly polished. admittedly i don't know what i'm on about, but it was done to the point of looking like it was meant to be there.
Beautiful work! Besides the obvious, I really love how you used the R50 roof/sunroof. Looks super clean and adds a touch of luxury. So many of these conversions are loud and uncomfortable, but yours is nice inside. Really great job.
Im not gonna lie this is my dream right here and someone made it a reality. I loved my mini while it was working. I had a 2016 with its notorious coolant management problems. Then before I could fix it I got tboned and the car was totalled. Now I got my hands on a 23 wrx and I love it, but it would be nice in a smaller car. The wrx is pretty big now.
Absolutely love it! That build is just magnificent. AND road legal! (An amazing accomplishment by itself in Vic) The colour, plates, and effort gone into it are all bang on point! Well done Steve!
What an awesome build. Amazing what the owner has done to achieve this. Love that sunroof transplant from the BMW. Amazing diy from a garage build. Beautiful handiwork!
Back in the 1970's I met a fellow that had a two engine/four wheel drive MINI. He removed the roof and replaced it with a toneau like cover. He had a center stack on the dash that had duplicate instruments. The frame was beefed up to deal with the additional weight. It used two S engines but don't know at what state of tune. He ran on the streets and also auto cross events. I suspect that the weight of the extra engine was a detriment but it was impressively quick...even in autocrosses. I would think this mid/engine version would be a lot better balanced and seemed to handle well in this video. A modern Subaru boxer engine would put out as much HP as the other two engines also.

Like a granny 😂.......fkn put the foot down and let us hear and see it properly
Smart straight to the point coherent Talented guy. Killer build
That engineer is as proud of this build as the owner, he got to see the progress and verify it was done legit too.

did the video get cut since? he wasn't in the video for me
This guy is talented. I can't imagine there being many people that could build a rear engined mini and pass engineers in any aussie state. Awesome car
Looks fantastic and workmanship looks very high end . Well done to all involved in the build 👏
Very humble builder. He's done an amazing job.
That's what i thought too.
Humble is the way to go; more respect, better appreciation and actually lets the products and creations speak for themselves 💯🙌🏼🙏🏼🙌🏼💯 it is a lost character indeed, and hes got it
I cant say anything better than all the praise youve received in the previous comments, but sensational build. You should be proud of yourself!
My 9yo is obsessed with Mini's just showed him this car he LOVES it!!!
" the statement this is probably one of the wildest minis in Australia" Is an understatement.. This is probably one of wildest minis in the world for sure
Fifteen's have never looked so good on a Mini.
Perfect stance.
What a car.
This is one of the coolest cars i've ever seen!

What a killer build, amazing stuff !
Art within art , a car within a car.....
No Remorse..... Nice Build.
got the pleasure of seeing this in person at PP projects. Such an amazing looking car
Aussie and Kiwi garage based car and bike builders… Everytime I see one of their creations it looks factory and the owner is humble AF 🙌
Such an impressive build, Even if a big company did this it would of been impressive but to thing a bloke in his garage did this is even more impressive. 100/10
Wow 2 years! Outstanding.
Little beast 😱amazing build 😎
Wow wow wow! So left Field!
This was the coolest build at this years WTAC. Props to the builder!

Dam that’s amazing.
I don’t know why , but I’m blown away By how “factory” the roof looks.

Very nice project, i like that 👍👍👍 congrats

Now that is one beautiful mini.
Awesome stuff, thanks for sharing!
This and Binky. The two best mini's I've ever seen and can only dream of having myself. Awesome build.

Great location for the footage in Scoresby! What an awesome custom mini🎉🚀
Great end product, seemed very professional.
Had me from the beginning. Great build

Credit to the owner.

Super impressive work and bravo to the builder. He did an amazing job and seems like a really nice genuine guy. Would love to take this for a spin!!
Amazing effort. I'm a fitter and turner by trade and you've definitely done a fantastic job.
Now that is a Super Mini
What an amazing build, the fabrication on the chase and the bodywork just blew me away
This is awesome. I stayed back at work on a Friday to watch this - totally worth it! A job well done by Steve.

Steve, you are an absolute star. What an incredible build. Love this.
Been waiting for this feature!!!!❤
Wow, stunning build and a talented guy.
What a mammoth task , so well done.
Had to love his commitments regarding the sourcing of certain needed information,YOU TUBE.
Awesome build but holy crap! I thought boxer engines were hard to work on before. You sir, are a madman and a glutton for punishment and I respect it.
Great build!!!
That's fricken awesome. Not my cup of tea in terms of the car, but the engineering, body work, and just general well thought out ideas are exactly my cup of tea! Bravo!
That’s my thoughts. I don’t have to necessarily like the car to appreciate the engineering and effort gone into a build.
Brilliant man ,I love it!!!
That is so cleanly done that it looks like a factory prototype . Awesome !
What a cool build! So much quality work
Man I wish I had a dad to show me stuff like that. But he’s right TH-cam has taught me a lot of the skills I have now!
That roof is a brilliant idea . Very nice car.
What a build, big props to the owner 👏
Getting this engineered with Australian bs legislation was probably the equivalent of building the harbour bridge
The build took a few weeks and the certification took 2.5years?
@@ThienTran-vq8kp flip what you said, build 2,5 years, cert few weeks

Incredible!!
What a skilled person he is and a lovely mini
This is truly out of this world!! Amazing, out for words here. He made this entire build sound like a simple spark plug change lol.
This is amazing! Honestly lost for words as to how perfect it all worked out and done in a basic shed is mid blowing 🎉
this is one rad mini, props for all his work
Absolutely love it!

Coherent and informative interview, well done to both . Thanks for sharing
Now put a mini engine in a Tribecca.
What kind of cursed human would say this 😂
Why not put a good engine in a Tribecca?
Mini engine in a f150
This build reminds me of project binky which is still in the process of getting built after so many years
I've seen this at a cars and coffee meet and had to do a double take when I first walked past it. Such an impressive build!
good job man 👍💪
What an awesome build. Amazing what the owner has done to achieve this. Love that sunroof transplant from the BMW. Amazing diy from a garage build. Beautiful handiwork!
Top notch build Steve..well done!
I've been out with my mate today in his R53. That thing flies. I bet this 1 is crazy 🤪
Big grin! That is fkcun brilliant!

Love it. Almost a sleeper car.
Unreal feat of engineering! Love it!!
hell yeah i want something like this
That's a bloody awesome little beast 🤙
I've Raced Go-Karts and Driven a lot of Minis including race tuned Coopers and I can absolutely tell you they feel just like Road-going Go Karts!
I’ve had both cars since the mid 70s, this makes we want to start all over again !
This would have been a great build series. someone who knew what he wanted and with the skills to carry it out. Very nice.
