That engineer is as proud of this build as the owner, he got to see the progress and verify it was done legit too.
That's the thing about engineers - they're typically car enthusiasts too, and if you come to them with a good idea and aren't a fucking dickhead, they will work with you to help you get the vehicle built and on the road.

This guy is talented. I can't imagine there being many people that could build a rear engined mini and pass engineers in any aussie state. Awesome car

It's BS legislation until something poorly engineered causes a crash on the roads mate, there's engineers in my family and it's important to do things right.
Aussie and Kiwi garage based car and bike builders… Everytime I see one of their creations it looks factory and the owner is humble AF 🙌

Ive watched a lot of these stories over the years and usually you get the idea a skip forward quite a bit, this one though is the first story i watched from start to finish, hats off to the guy, his engineer and you guys for showing us this build.

Fantastic video. Incredible build that I've enjoyed seeing locally, and I just love hearing from any single person who has gone through such a thorough job on a car on their own... knowing exactly what is where in every inch of the car and how it was figured out and made to fit. A very deserving feature.

although theengineering and enging conversion is epic, the bodywork for "me and my brother in a diy booth" is stunning. what an incredible car, second only to project binky.

Beautiful work! Besides the obvious, I really love how you used the R50 roof/sunroof. Looks super clean and adds a touch of luxury. So many of these conversions are loud and uncomfortable, but yours is nice inside. Really great job.

Sweet mate, I did one of the first wrx beetles registered in NSW, so I can appreciate all the small details and thought put into the build.The metal fabrication looks awesome. Did the same intercooler with scoops feeding the air to air. I have some of the coldest air intake temps around and used to have small fans on the intercooler, however lost them a while back as it ran cooler without them. Thanks for sharing.
