thanks for this. very good tutorial. only issue i'm having is the custom brush is not drawing smooth. it's like the spacing is changing to great than 1. new machine ryzen 5600x, 32G ram. can't figure it out. it's like the brush won't output fast enough. tried lots of settings and nada. any ideas?

I recently installed gimp and im quite familiar with the software, but for whatever reason the drag and drop feature isnt working. ill crop/cut something and when i try to click anywhere on the canvas, it just doesnt drop the image(the option to "select none" isnt highlighted eather so i can even click that). I would really appreciate the help 😀
How do I create a shiny gold text effect? The preset "Golden" option in the Gradient Paint Tool is not shiny enough and I don't mean glowing effect. Thanks!

So I'd like very much to know, how I can after making a shape with the Free Select Tool on an image, make it look like a 3d sphere. In GiMP theres a function called "Spherize" but it's only doing a circular shape, where I wish to create an odd shape with Free Select Tool and make it "Spherized". Can you please make a tutorial on that? all the best D
How would I make animation of writing that letter out, turning it into a gif. I am making GIF stickers. And I am trying to figure out better ways to animate them. Thank you!

i use a bigger analysis around 7000 by 6000. problem is when i try to make the second elipse part instead of the shape i draw i get a something like a pizza slice. anybody had that issue?
When I do this, I have always black pixels in my drawing and I don't know how I can fix this. The black pixels come from the edge of every circle (from the brush) which gets draw.
This doesn't happen to me when I use the circle from the brushes, but it does happen when I draw a circle with the elipse tool and then fill it in with a color, but the pixels go away as soon as I zoom in or out. I'd say it may be an artifact that isn't really going to be there once saved and or printed...don't know what causes it though. I have an old computer with an old graphics card and always thought it was due to that, but not sure.

I just started Gimp this week after watching your videos
Nick started me on my path to GIMP as well. It really is great software. His Inkscape tuts are super helpful too if you haven't tried that yet.

I followed the steps but the 3d text is not showing up. It is visible from the layer menu but not on the canvas
