I did the exercise and let me tell you, it's one of my best designs yet! Thank you so much for being slow enough that it helps me but not slow enough that I have to set the playback speed at a higher rate.

I've seen a few illustrator tutorials but none of them teached me the important and cool things about the tool the way you did. Great video and great design!
Ehh.. thats part of graphics design.. for me and my team, we present clean concepts, depending how creative my team can make, usually we can present up to 6-9 concepts, and then we ask for the client to pick two or three of which direction the client like. Then we start from there to finalise the design concept.. we deliver the logo when both the client and us the designers feel satisfied.. just remember, never take suggestions from the clients, you are the designer, not them.. just ask for what they think of the design

Honestly, I've been there, My way around feeling discouraged is to anticipate the worst case scenario. Lets say the client scraps the concept. When I quote logo design jobs I base my rates on my anticipated hourly time, plus half that time again, then, I tell my client he can make revisions until he is happy.
This kind of video improves dramatically what I´ve seen in this channel before: the relaxed music, the narration, showing the scketching procces, and the little exercise. Good one!

I made my personal logo thinking of an origami-style folded paper, similar to this because of its shape, in fact because of that shape in my university they accused me of plagiarism even though I did my creative process like you. It was incredible.

Okay a quick bonus tip: To mirror shapes across a central point (or guide): Select the elements you want to mirror press "O" to bring up the mirror/flip tool click once on the centre guide, this should move the origin point to the mirror line holding down left click, ALT + SHIFT, drag the artwork you want to mirror from its original position across to the other side of the document. Make sure the preview outline shows the mirrored artwork. Once you let go of left click (BEFORE you let go of ALT+SHIFT) you will have perfectly mirror artwork across the centre guide of your document, instead of having to align it yourself!

Did you know that: When you type text on a line and you want to center it. You must move the left AND the right anker. For some reason there is always a little space. Example: i had to draw 1 : 100 scale in illustrator. Client said that the text was offcenter on the building. I looked it up in the computer it was 1 mm off to the left. That was 10 cm in real life. FML :(
I'm not into logos or designing but I am a painter, painting both digitally and traditionally. So for some time now I have this question, and I believe you are the right person to ask; So, for the last years, I have witnessed that logos, images, symbols etc. espaicially in the advertisments are becoming more and more abstract and minimalistic, in compare to those in the past decade. Why do you believe this is the case, and why is this happening everywhre, in movies, gaming, books and all econic mediums?
The attention span of people is diminishing. Detailing a logo with intricate designs will defeat the purpose of it, not everyone have the artistic perspective of a designer and people just like to have an easy to understand image for their brain to handle.

When you do all the sketches of your ideas, should you show the client first to let them decide before finishing the whole logo, or you have to finish it first then show the client? @@LogoFarmerss Photoshop can do vectors, the process of designing vectors on Photoshop is tedious and not user friendly. Furthermore the vectors are purely lines that you can't introduce colour into. You can design a logo on Photoshop and convert the layer to a smart object in order to emulate illustrator but it's not reccomended.

That;s why you make sure you get paid for hours done, and not for the result. An incremental process requires incremental payment.

You can use behance
The client can suggest for colors and typography type, serif or San serif or other types.. but you are the designer, not them.. you supply the ideas

I used Adobe illustrator CC2019. All the versions are quite similar. But there are few advantage with Adobe illustrator CC.

For those who are unable to afford Adobe Illustrator you can do this exact thing on PowerPoint.
Or, you can use free software which is actually intended for this purpose such as Inkscape.

Photoshop is not good for logo design as that cant produce vector graphics. Illustrator is ideal for logo design.
