From a native.. if you move here, it's because it not where you are moving from. So.. don't try to turn our state into the place you left. You left for a reason, leave that there. If what we have already isn't what you want, why are you here?

I’m glad I’m not moving to any state. Californians migrants get so much hate for driving up the cost in Idaho, Oregon, Texas, Nevada and Arizona. Some people just get so enticed to move to some other state where the cost of living is cheaper.

As someone who is also born and raised in Arkansas, I totally agree to a point. The point when I separate is that I believe what made Arkansas great before was our low populations numbers. The higher the populations get, the worse everything gets, whether these city slickers bring their problems with them or not.

We are over run in Idaho by those escaping the other areas.. so much that the average blue collar retiree (me) cant purchase land ect as the economy is so inflated by BIG money... and yes the local politics are leaning blue as opposed to the historical red..

Ive liked every neighborhood equally, but each in its own way. The worst crime I’ve personally experienced is having someone rifle through my unlocked car. One time someone took $10. I’ve always known all my neighbors by name and I have always been looked out for by my neighbors and I look out for them.

I am quite familiar with McHenry Estates! All the homes sit on 5 acre lots but each lot is very sloped. I will check the bylaws to see if horses would be allowed but I am not sure how practical it would be to have horses in that community. The homes feel very tucked away from each other due to the wooded nature of the community which draws many people to it!

Thinking about a move from Austin,Tx to Bentonville, but worried about taxes. I know Arkansas has an State income tax, do they get you on a bunch of other stuff too? And does the State provide value for the State income tax? Here in Texas we don’t have a State income tax, but they tax you for every other little thing. Wondering if it evens out between here and there once you take them all into account. 🤷‍♂️

There is no "internet" in Arkansas. What I mean by that after moving from the Dallas are to the Little Rock area is that no businesses are listed on the internet, It is extremely hard to find services or public information so that I had to sign-up for the local newspaper or even revert to using a phonebook (something that died in the 90's). Also, there is no high speed internet in many places, so working from home is hard if you need high upload speeds. Also if you work there is income tax, so Arkansas is a great place to retire due to low property taxes but not a great place to work, unless it is in Texarkana which I understand has no income tax. Last of all many places still only use partial phone numbers - because the whole state is one area code versus multiple area codes just in DFW alone.

That kind of surprises me. I've lived in some really rural areas and also spent a bunch of time in Northern Idaho, and while you'll definitely have some discrimination against certain ethnicities/cultures/races in some of those areas (just being honest), I would have been surprised to see it against Japanese people. You just never see Japanese people in those super rural/white areas so I would suspect it's more curiosity and bewilderment than discrimination, and you never really see any negative stereotypes of Japanese in those areas.

They have moved there. And when it comes to crime, and living expenses and outdoor activities, As many have said there’s no place like Northwest Arkansas. That’s why it’s called the Natural State. My husband and I are a mix race, I myself Latina, my husband, Italian Irish, and Scottish. No place is perfect but for those who are looking for paradise all these videos that I have came across on TH-cam from people who already move there, they talk about it like it is the place to move!!! So the say that it is the one place to raise a family for sure. I fallow this one TH-cam video her name is Christine Agustine, Who left California with her family to start a new life there I love her videos she explains everything in detail about everything you need to know she herself is Latina. Good luck with your new journey of moving to Clarksville, don’t forget to look into Bentonville and Fayetteville👍

Im from Sacramento CA but I’m moving to Fortsmith Arkansas in 2 weeks and from there moving to Fayetteville AR in a few months . just wanted to know if they’re LGBTQ friendly . I’m Native American but look Mexican , so I wanted to know if any racism I should be aware of , since I’m coming from a very diverse environment .

Hi, I’m new here. Please forgive my ignorance I’ve lived in NY state my whole life. I’m wondering about the acceptance of cultural diversity. I am very interested in relocating to Arkansas, but certain places in the south has a stigma of racism. Would you please speak about the culture of these places?

Tiny Eureka Springs has thriving artist and lgbtq population and it host the Passion Play theater about the life of Jesus. Small Hot Springs is also an interesting town to look up on google. I would say that as a whole Arkansas is a conservative state with distinct pockets of diversity. It transitions from the south to the midwest to the west, though most Arkansans would see themselves as southern.

Not much diversity. We have lived here for four months and have seen two black people. Little Rock suburbs have more diversity. It just seems that way everywhere though in the country. I don't think the people are racist though.

Is Arkansas a good investor's market for rental properties?

    • @NicoleNark

Land in this area is very over priced as well.

AK is one of my options to immigrate from Japan for work in the future, and the low standard of living attracts me, as well as it may be the state where my Japanese wife can adopt to the climate because it almost has similarities with my current prefecture, Aichi....My first 4 options: Nebraska, Kansas, South Dakota and Iowa.. AK, then Alabama, Indiana, Ohio, Missouri, Tennessee...
Japan's standard of living is becoming higher, as well as having a carbon neutral plans in the future where either factory work will be removed altogether or will raise our taxes and pensions to death, meaning me and my wife's combined salaries for today will be worth nothing..not to mention the mandates here is killing me emotionally..
