Stardust is on of my favourites too, as it had a bunch of the same fun elements as Princess Bride: swordfighting, pirates, princes, with just a splash of magic for added measure. Overall tbough, I think the producers of the film summed it up best: it's not a film that will change the world, but it will leave you with good feeling! 😊🤗
I agree. I own and enjoy the book, but it has moments of unnecessary darkness (like what happens to the unicorn) that detract from the story. I love the movie version.

This is a hidden gem or underrated film. Production value and effects were so good for its time. Some stuff could have been improved like narrative and screenplay but so far as story/plot goes, weaving do many characters and different story lines into one felt amazing.
This film has always made me smile. Glad you enjoyed it. I've never really seen the moral of the story to be " have sex with a stranger", but now that you've laid it out I can't not see it.

This is one of a hand full of movies, I always recommend to people but very rarely someone watches and even likes it. Some others would be The Guest, Predestination, The Invitation (2015), The Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past, The Fountain, My Best Friend's Wedding, Crazy Stupid Love, The Holiday, The Heartbreak Kid, A Blast From The Past or Desert Flower .....

Another adventure movie you should see is Labyrinth (1986) .... that one was a bit wird iirc but it's a classic :) and another you also should see is The 10th Kingdom but it's a mini-serie so it's quite long, but fun, easy humor and a bit of magic...

Another gritty fantasy is "Willow" with Val Kilmer and Warwick Davis . A trippy sort of fantasy is "Time Bandits ", and by the same director (one of the original Monty Python crew) "the Adventures of Baron Munchausen" and then "Erik the Viking ". Disney real world retelling of a fairy tale "Enchanted ". Anothe retelling of a fairy story is "Maleficent" (and the second) Mark Strong (Prince Septimus) is so good at being nasty and sinister. The Sherlock Holmes movie opposite Robert Downey Jr , and the great adventure that Disney hated "John Carter". Do "Alita Battle Angel"!

The village on the normal side of the wall is not too far from me, little place called Castle Combe. It has a 5 star hotel, a 4 star hotel, a race track, a golf course and less than 400 people live there. In the more historic area of the village the newest house was built in about 1600.
Watch out for Captain Shakespeare, he has a fearsome reputation!

The coronation song almost never fails to give me chills. Ilan Eshkeri did a bang-up job with that composition--it's literally called "Coronation."
