Thank-you for that excellent presentation of a great man of God. It really spoke to me, and it made me sad how the green-wearing, beer-drinking, parade marching celebrations have literally nothing to do with Patrick’s life devoted to saving the people of Ireland. I will be sharing this with others, and St Patrick’s Day will never be the same for me! God bless you! James Ponak

His legacy should be an inspiration to us, to pray and share the good news of Christ to other cultures in a loving way. To not reflect in bitterness on the hard trials of the past. Patrick's confrontation with the druids was EPIC. Legend has it that on the eve of the pagan druid feast of Beltane, Patrick defied the strict rule that only the druid high king could light the first fire from his palace on Mt. Tara. Patrick built a massive fire on the hill of Slaine ten miles away where he knew they would see it. What followed was similar to something out of the Old Testament. When he was brought before the king to answer for this outrage and pay for it with his life, Patrick warned the druids not to oppose what God was about to do for the people of Ireland. The legends say that at one point, a druid priest levitated high up off the ground through demonic power in an attempt to scare and intimidate Patrick. Patrick wasn't intimidated in the least but remained steadfast, rebuking this demonstration of evil and instead the priest was flipped upside down and his head was smashed into the ground. Unconvinced, the druids challenged Patrick to a dual - Patrick and one of their druid priests would walk through a roaring towering gauntlet of fire on either side and whoever came out unharmed had the more powerful god. Patrick came through without a singe while the druid priest was burned alive. The druid high king was so shaken that he gave Patrick permission to petition any of the petty kings in Ireland to preach the Gospel in their kingdoms. One by one every one of those kingdom's became Christian.

@@GTX1123 Saint Patrick is a complete fiction , we even know who came up with the fake story . The Bishop of Sleaty hired a scribe named Muirchú moccu to create a fake character for Irish christianity . He was created as a cover story for the massacre of the native Pagans and Irish Druids and the forced conversion of Ireland to Christianity . We even have the stories of Croagh Patrick and the casting down of druids of the Crom Cruach . ( This was mass murder ) Meanwhile in cross patrick Saint Patrick had a run in with the druids , again Mass murder . Saint patricks magical fire at Tara , well that was Tara and hundreds of years of Irish Celtic history destroyed in one go . He never existed , the story was just that a cover story for the Genocide of the Irish and forced conversion to the Middle Eastern Abrhamic religion . Those Celebrating Saint Patricks day are Celebrating the massacre of their Ancestors and Tribal traditions.

All the little things that hinder, when praying fervently they come to mind. They are not always distractions. Sometimes the Holy Spirit brings them up so you repent, and cast them off you and keep praying. You are closer in intimacy with God, and the next dimension of His life is about to show in you. Don't stop, as the grip of sin breaks of you when you obey the Holy Spirit like that

Like all countries when you go and visit or live there in this case being Ireland it does not matter how many years ago this was I believe you must respect the way of life of Ireland and the Irish people and if you can't do that then you shouldn't go there in the first place I believe this guy st. Patrick had come from a middle class or upper class family in England the life that he lead in England is clearly different to the life that the Irish people live in their country he seemed to be mixed up and confused he left Ireland and then went back about 20 years later what happened after that we don't seem to know the Only Good Thing to come out of st. Patrick is that once a year it makes a lot of money for Ireland with the tourists etc and as long as Ireland is making money it's looking after its people and living a better life if I had been alive in the days off st. Patrick I would have told him a thing or two Ireland is close to my heart... from me Daniel and a special friend Kevin

Some parts were left out, but this didn't claim to be an exhaustive history of Patrick.
The only problem I have with the video is the use of "saint" as some ecclesiastical office.
The Bible uses the word saint as a synonym for Christian or disciple or believer.

St. “Patrick” didn’t return to Éire alone and benevolent. He went back with a vengeance and with the power of the Catholic Church behind him.
He also did not bring Christianity to the island (his predecessor did that about 30 years before he was born).
What he did on the emerald island was stabilize Catholicism by suppressing the Druidic worship that dominated the people’s religious practice at the time - and we all know how heavy handed the Church has been in their dominance through suppression, historically speaking.
Thus were the “snakes” (i.e.- pagan practitioners) driven from the land.
History has a way of using allegory to paint the deeds that positioned our modern institutions into positions of power in a much more favorable light than they deserve. Vatican City has always been a chief offender in terms of this particular sin.
“History is written by the victors” as they say.

@@JohnDoe-jt9oq , many people are childless. Many women and men would love to adopt a baby. Many men and women in big sandstone houses would love to offer a room to a single mother, or to a pregnant woman who is in difficulty. Some folk tell their daughter to leave home if she is pregnant. The Social Services make it impossible to adopt. They have a vested interest in ‘looking after’ the pregnant mother, or the mother and child. Careers are made over the misery of others.

St. Patrick's day is a Christian holiday. Celebrating trying to destroy another religion. No good hearted religion would have you destroy those who don't have the same practices. Most religions will teach you to have respect for all practices.
Christianity is also witchcraft. Communion is proof of that. You eat the body and drink the blood of christ. If you drink wine on communion you are sinning. Grape juice is what you should be drinking for communion. BLESSED BE.
