The Gen 5 games had so much amazing things in it on top of the way they did the music. I’m excited for whenever we get their remakes and maybe even a Legends Kyurem or something!
Honestly, the Gen 5 games are so great already, they don't even need remakes. Just add the fairy type to a HD port, and we're good

A fun detail I noticed myself that I feel doesn't get talked about much is Dialga's stripes are patterned after clock hands

Every single one of Orbeetle's stats are better than Ledians
Just goes to show you how good Gamefreak is at "balancing" things! The power creep has been horrendous. Really started with Gen 4 but accelerated more and more ever since. Look at most Johto mons compared to modern ones and its mind-blowing seeing the differences in stats and competitive viability.
@@BackwardsHat Yeah, there has been a bit of a power creep, but honestly I'm not sure if looking at Johto for comparison is fair because it's just a really weak generation over all. The Pokémon in Johto are considerably weaker than the ones in Kanto and Hoenn since a lot of them are just incomplete or bad. Johto was way below average even before the power creep.
Ledian just needs its third stage evolution still.
@@BackwardsHat They've always sucked the most dicks at balancing, ever since Gen 1; all they really know how to do when they have something that's "OP" in one generation is to either nerf it to the point that it's completely useless(#justice4talonflame) or add a new thing in the next generation that's even *MORE* "OP"(hey there Dynamax).

Agreed. It really needs more to it, like, is it too late for another evolution for Ledian?
all it needs it to swap its Sp.Atk for Attack, it has Iron Fist, yet a terrible attack stat, swap them and oh boy you might have a similar situation as Huge Power Azumaril in your pokeball.

Regarding Unova, that feature actually applies to pretty much all of the routes.
As a native Irish speaker, given our history, 'galar' always sounded like a very appropriate name for a region based off of England haha

I remember in one of the b2w2 movies, there was this ledian that was the main “villain”, I feel if we had the movie series now orbeetle could be a good fit, especially since you create a time time machine and the ledian lives in a world where bug types rule and use people as Pokémon. It’s one my favourite things about the b2w2 games

Isn't Ledian more based on Pulseman, like Rotom was? They both have black arms and legs, red shoes or feet, white gloves or hands, and Ledian's antennae are bent like Pulseman's head crest.
I really like the Virbank Gym in B2W2, after you battle or talk to each band member their part of the music will stop playing until you leave and come back.
And the singing of Roxy, first and last voice we heard in a Pokémon game

I always thought Galar’s name was a little play on how people with English accents occasionally add ghost R’s at the end of words ending with vowels. Naming your region GalaR forces even people without English accents to add that ghost R to the region name. Could also be a play on the word Gala, not Galar, which might fit a little better
And if you take account of bad pronunciation it could also be "Ganar" ("to win" in spanish) since the L and N sounds are so much closer than others
I also thought it had something to do with the word "gallant" somehow.

In French, Wales (a part of Great Britain) is called "Pays de Galles" which translates to "Country of Galles".
"Galles" is a frenchyfying of the germanic word "Walh" which means "speaking a celting tongue", and gave the word "Wales" in English.
So I really think "Galar" could come from "Galles" or "Walh", as it relates to the Celtic roots of the region.
Funny enough, I found out that another word for "frenchyfying" is "Gallicisation", which kind of turns that whole thing over its own head 🙃

The subtle things about pokemon are really the things that make me love it so much!!
People get too caught up in graphics and textures and difficulty modes they lost their way and forgot reason they fell in love with the franchise in the first place which was because of the whimsy and the forged bonds with their team and the heartwarming adventures and again the subtle things

Now we're saying that cuz Legends doesnt seem to have voice acting that its behind gaming standards when they compare it to Mario Odyssey (stinkin ironic) and forget that it was a UPDATE, not a trailer. Honestly these guys just tick me off cuz theyre never happy for ANY-STINKIN THING (sry if I went on for a bit too long but I just wanted to get it off my chest)
I believe Ledian's design is also partially inspired by Kamen Rider, too, if not mostly. Kamen Rider Kuuga premiered on 2001, but was in the works since 1997, as the revival of the franchise, which was kind of a big deal, so Taijiri and co. probably were inspired by him.

yeah but it's only in ultra games, in the original sun and moon you only find her once you enter the pokemon league

Yes, the Gen V music has that feature throughout the games in their entirety, but it is most noticeable on routes.
And the people on the higest house of Accumula Town that a Piano and Drums to the "It can walk" (Furret's walking song) music

I think a hidden detail about Orbettle is how it and other pokemon like Nickit are connected to the likes of Inteleon.
With all of them making up a cast of movie actors

Galar is also the name of a Dwarf in Norse Myth.
Primal Groudon has the omega symbol in its design while primal Kyogre has the alpha symbol in its design.
Mega Camerupt has an M in its design. The M is most likely referring to Magma or Maxie.

Giovanni has fully evolved nidos which are poison/ground type but yeah most rockets specialize in Poison type although that's not the only thing they use it's the majority of what they use Giovanni uses part poison types that are ground type that give them an advantage over other poison types yeah
And, I noticed his name sounds kinda like geo, which relates him a little more to the Ground-type

if the whole Orbeetle design is truly supposed to be taken as it being a "villain" it's kinda weird how they gave it the Nu Gundam's V-fin, and not something more like the Sazabi's "stahlhelm" or Char's Zaku Antenna
Not sure how intentional it is, but Whitney being the leader of Goldenrod City, which is based on Osaka, apparently had a Nippon Professional Baseball team called the Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes, so that could even be the reason they changed her ace from Aipom to Miltank? XD

Actually, Ladyba is more of Super Sentai (The original Japanese version of Power Ranger) more than Ultraman. And the fact that Orbeetle can Gigantamax just like the villain make it better.

Kahili appears to give you the Z pose at the top of 10 Karat Hill, so you do see her briefly before the elite four in the game.

Ladyba and Lyidyina could also be related to Kamen Rider too as There are characters in that show that have the ladybug motif and they are born from science. That's was I see too.
Hopefully they can reintroduce in Journeys. Ash can tell Gou that Whitney was one of Ashs toughest battles making one of Gous pokemon would want to battle her.

It suddenly occurred to me that Scyther is the first Pokemon that is already present in the Sinnoh regional Pokedex (I only checked Platinum but still) that has gotten something new in Legends Arceus. Just something to think about.
I have to be honest, I don't agree with the theory link between gym leader Chuck and Chuck Norris. If Chuck in Johto was meant to be an in-game version of Chuck Norris, he would be virtually unbeatable, just like his real world counterpart. Instead, he's actually one of the easiest Johto gym leaders owing to the variety of Psychic and Flying types available prior to his gym, not to mention the Ghastly line being available during the previous gym in Ecruteak City. If Chuck was meant to be Chuck Norris, he would be at or above the level of Red at Mt. Silver!

An under appreciated detail for me is that in the Resort Area in Platinum you can use the super rod to fish up Magikarp between levels 1 and 100 there’s no explanation as to why as far as I know.
I noticed the different battle transitions, and there's also one for legendaries.

It is tho, there is a lot of detail to the locations, and the Pokémon designs are deeply rooted in British culture and history, that is because the art director for SwSh is British

It would be interesting if Whitney was originally intended to have a baseball motif, since the Johto anime introduced another baseball-loving female trainer in the form of Casey.
Pretty sure the Galar region isn't based on other European countries, its solely based on the UK. Obstagoon is meant to look like a punk badger, badgers which live in the UK and even though punk as a music genre originates from the US, the punk social movement was big in the UK.

It's funny, when I was a kid I always named my Ledian Red Ranger cuz it reminded me of power rangers. I'm happy to see it mentioned in a video like thia.
I think that there's a Japanese baseball team that used a pink cow as their mascot so that may explain miltank as well.
Plus, the Japanese name for Rollout could be read as a pun on a knuckleball, which explains that move's presence.
Isnt orbeetle bailed on a UFO orbit-beetle , it's g max looks even more like a UFO , I didn't see the mad scientist aspect until I looked at the first 2 stages and even still seems like a stretch
