@@dominickcharbonneau9250 There was even a period when she was the worlds strongest female
(A year or two) but there was no championchip during that time, so she didnt beacame WM.
      Bad timing.

Not only did she draw the reigning world champ but could have won if she wasn’t so focused on getting the draw. She blundered the win but still got the result she went there for so that’s still a win imo.

❤❤ One for each. Pia and Anna inspired me to learn to play chess at 61. I randomly watched a full round of the Reykjavik open with no knowledge of chess. I watched Pia’s excitement and the way her computer-like brain analyzed each move with amazement. I had no idea what was going on but I was hooked! Bravo mother and daughter!

I briefly interacted with Ju Wenjun in Dubai Police Cup last month... She is very calm when she plays chess, and she smiles a lot. She sometimes even smiles when she plays in tournaments. She is a very friendly person even though she is the top female chess player in the world.
I also met Anna and her loving mother in NY at Washington Square Chess park in 2023. They had a nice game with the chess hustler in the park.
It's so much pleasure to see this video. What a time to be alive...

"She is very calm when she plays chess, and she smiles a lot. She sometimes even smiles when she plays in tournaments."
So she smiles a lot when she plays chess, but not when she plays chess(in tournaments)? Am I missing something or she smiles a lot only when it's non tournament chess games but rarely smiles during tournament games? As a pro that means she doesn't smile often then since as a pro and as a world champion I am assuming she plays primarily tournament games?

It seems many of the top players are very arrogant and unpleasant: Kasparov, Korchnoi, Fischer, Nakamura, Carlson, and even lower rated players such as Gotham Chess. Big egos and attitudes.

    Great game, Pia! ❤❤❤
I remember watching her live in Belgrade in 1992, at the Sava Center conference hall. She had the highest ELO there and took the 3rd place in an extremely fierce competition. The 1st place was won by Maya Chiburdanidze, who was the world champion just a year prior to that event (she lost the world title match to Xie Jun in 1991). Some other famous names were present, such as Nona Gaprindashvili (also former world champion), Svetlana Matveyeva, Nana Ioseliani, as well as our best player ever, Alisa Maric.
Pia came back to Belgrade in 1996 to another top championship where she took the 2nd place, the 1st again taken by Maya.

Your mom and you are the smiling chess, really making the world of chess gentle, good attitude, full smile mean while lost, no proud when win. Keeping like that my dear friends.

❤ oh those moments you can never get back, I feel for her. Consolation prize being that the world #1 knows she should have lost and was saved probably because of her "gravitas". I’m sure she would have played the winning move against ANYONE else ❤❤

Still a Great game ❤and you always are calm and studious. Madam GrandMaster, a word from your daughter “we are all human!”❤ Your stunned face will be felt by a 1000 ♥️s for years to come. I’ve just started watching your personable and talented daughter/vlogger. I haven’t played chess in decades and yet, Because of this game, allowing us to watch you and your loving daughter’s ♥️ sincerity in worrying about your upset… I am subscribing. I may even challenge my ♥️ grandson to a game (which he will gladly win) ❤ How good it is that we are now mature enough not to lose sleep over it?! ;-). Can’t wait to see your own vlog!

Crazy that your mom is so good at the game that she brought the draw like she wanted while simultaneously bringing the possibility of a win. Too focused on her original goal to see the other possibility. It's so interesting.

It's a comfort for we mortals that even the elite can miss the correct move. Here Mom was late in the game. Most of us are stumbling right out of the opening.
